In theory, the dimensional space would allow just under 4 yards of mulch. However, pending the moisture content of the mulch, you would likely exceed the payload capacity (1690) of the trailer before completely filling the trailer with mulch.
Heavier axles and taller sides are an option. Not sure how much mulch you are trying to hold, but you can figure rough cubic yards by taking "length (ft) x Width (ft) x height of side walls (ft), then divide by 27. This will help to determine what size of trailer will help you achieve your desired application.
I just bought a brand new Sure Trac 5x8 utility trailer and the whole gate is rusting and there's rust all over the frame on top and underneath. It is only a month old.
no i did not. Am I supposed to? I had researched utility trailers and rust problems was one of my criteria, that's why I chose Sure Trac, because the reviews were good. @@SureTracTrailersPage
I don't understand why utility trailers have such low and open sides. The high sides should be standard, but the industry seems to disagree. I wish SureTrac still made the high-side models.
The Steel High Side (Solid Steel sides) is a pretty popular trailer and still produced every day. As a whole we still sell more of the Tube Top models. The Three Board High Side is still temporarily suspended.
@@SureTracTrailersPage The dealer must have been referring to the three-board model when he said they weren't being made. They have plenty of 6x10 tube models in stock. What's the easiest way to raise the sides while still having tie down points? I could add some 2x4's in the stake pockets, but then I lose my tiedown points. I'd like one trailer that can haul brush and mulch or my side-by-side if needed.
The solid steel high side trailer has D-rings on the inside. It also comes with the tie-down rail that can be used to support tarps and other lighter duty applications. sure-trac.com/product/steel-high-side/
Big Tex makes the wall side box versions that are almost twice as tall, they seem a great fit for versatile use that manufacturers need to understand what homeowners need such as mower hauling, wood chips, gravel, landscape needs, or lumber....whatever. If Sure-Trac made higher walls on their wall box utility I would strongly consider them. Right now they seem pretty low for even being considered a box.
Nice camera work. Simple explanation of trailer models and uses. Great video
How many yards of mulch will the 6x12 3-board highside hold?

@@SureTracTrailersPage maybe I should get an open utility with a 5k axel and just build my own sides 🤔

Sorry to hear about the issue with the rust on your gate. Have you contacted your local dealer to review the condition of the gate?

Yes. If you take it to your local dealer, they will diagnose any issues with the trailer and work with our team to fix them.
