Dropped in after taking a break in the hobby. Glad to see you're still making content. Also have you lost weight since your original first videos? Looking good dude!
Great to hear from you, Scott! Sounds like you are going thru a difficult season of life but love your positive attitude. I saw the UA-cam new video little blue dot by Mile High Reefers channel and was so pumped! Awesome ending to the video about enjoying what you have!
@@MileHighReefers that’s good! My wife and I were in CO a couple of weeks ago for a wedding and I told her we had to check out weekend at the wholesalers. Bummed to find out you weren’t there but again, happy to see things are going well for you.
Just use aiptasia X ....read the directions and use it as it tell you and you will defeat it...I've never had aiptasia issues in decades bc I use it asap when I spot them
Hey there, I will be setting up a 600 litre reef tank (160 gallons US). So, I plan to use 2 boxes (160 pieces total) of Maxpect bio balls. Do you think that will be enough for a 160 gallon tank? Also instead of adding bacteria, I plan to put these bags of bio media into my cousin’s tank’s sump and keep it there for a month or two before I set up my tank. His tank is a few years old. So um that way I can get a variety of bacteria from his tank and also microorganisms like copepods and amphipods. What are the Chances I can get pests as well? Like bristle works, aptasia, etc. do you think they will be a problem in a sterile tank? Also how can I get all these bacteria to colonise my bio media and also the copepods to stay in it without getting any of the pests into my tank? Is that possible? Please let me know! Also is this a good idea? What do you think? Thank you in advance!
That's a crazy amount of lye. No wonder you had problems. I just draw up 1 cc in a syringe and put a tiny dab on any unwanted polyps or maybe inject the center of an unwanted mushroom. Then I usually end up putting at least half of the amount back in the jar. I use a baker's yeast glass jar.
Hey Scott, I'm looking at finally replacing my 2006 24" tall reef tank with a 30" tank. My arms can only reach about 27-28" max and most people with tall tanks complain about them. I want a tall tank because I have tall corals and I think a taller tank looks so much bigger. When you have a minute can you give me your thoughts as you've had this tank long term. I'm thinking similar size except with smaller overflows or perhaps custom if budget allows but even the off the shelf tank would basically double the volume of my 5 foot 112 gallon. This is a long time coming and I'm not planning on swapping tanks until next year but really want to make the right choice. Thanks!
Glad to see you are still doing well. Good message on enjoying what you have. I think sometimes we focus on acquiring as many new colorful frags as we can rather than appreciating the corals that have stuck through all the mishaps and have grown into colonies. Especially with inflation making everything expensive. Is the heliofungia in the 29 related to the old one that died?
Nice update buddy, yeah the sodium hydroxide for sure hurts any coral it touches. It does make a nice alkalinity supplement though and you get a nice ph boost from it as well.
Nice video thanks for sharing I am so happy to see youa re doing better and so does the tank I always enjoy this big tank of yours update... have a good one until the next one hopefully is not too far away
Hope you find time to continue making content ❤️

Thanks man ☺️ doesn’t always make for the most interesting UA-cam videos LOL

@@MileHighReefersWHAT HAPPENED TO RINGKINS AND DONATELLO?
Which type of heater failed on you?
What is weekend at the wholesaler?
Question, for your pico, how much gfo and carbon do you use? Thanks for the video by the way
I remember when I first found your channel it was because of the 5 tangs. So... adding more tangs I see...
Worked great for a while.

Yeah I was taking out a colony of pest mushrooms it did the job LOL
What happened to that long horn cowfish?
Unfortunately it died many years ago
I dont want to be mean but the 40 gallon is WAY too small for the wellbeing of the Scopas tang and the vlamingi tang should be in at least a 600 gal
File fish? Eats mine…plus he looks like a cool mutant.
Hopefully you will have more content soon
You still active since 3 month?
Your clowns are 16 years old now?
Ty
Thanks!
Any updates
Tanks doing pretty good. Still looking about the same
been following for a few years. Great! Hate to ask, but , where is Renkins?
I believe He was murdered. I never got a clear answer on that. I loved that fish
Nice bubble garden. I always look out for your azure damsel. It's been in your tank since forever!
It’s a fantastic fish! It’s never given me any problems

I have a dead heliofungia. What do i have to do to make babbies come out? Do i need to Flip it upside down?
Sucks to see that you lost some coral but now we know what to do and not to do for sure.
Nice update 👍 looking 👌 good 👍

I think it’s still may have a roll to play in pest removal if the rock the pest is on is removed from the tank
Looks awesome 👏
Great tank.

@@MileHighReefers Thanks for taking your time and replying!
Great update, can I ask what tips you have to get Xenia to pulse like that?
Thanks in advance
In my experience they tend to be more likely to do pulse in low way flow
