The merry-go-round was always popular on the playground when I was a kid...didn't get to go on it much so maybe that's why I enjoy it now....HAHAHAHA! I am missing the 2 key components...a BIG loader bucket, and something that can lift it when full of wood. But I'm working on a change to my set up.😀

That's almost the way I keep it streamlined except I stack right next to the splitter with three high ranks to minimize steps. Then split and throw directly into the wood shed. I see lots of guys wasting way too much movement and when you get a few years on ya like me and you, we only have so much 'movement' to use in a day. So keep it at a minimum and you get more done. Good video buddy.

I just picked up a bulk material bucket for my tractor, I plan on using a modified method of this when I get my new splitter. Thanks for the advice! Wish my current splitters cycle time was anywhere close to yours.

You convinced me a long time ago that if I was splitting wood yours is the way to go, John. Did you see Nathan's new log splitter? The video came out today. He's playing the merry-go-round game just like you said.

Great video. Like bucket on Bobcat. Your one of very few woodsters that use a pickaroon, they are great for firewoodin as you well know. Is that a 10 or 12" wedge on your splitter. What is your splitters HP. Do you have an earlier video discription of your splitter. You do have a first rate processing yard for firewood logs, No wasted movements. Thanks for video, Have a good one.

hi there the wedge is 14 high , around 20 Hp . single stage pump so it doesn't slow into the split . there are other older videos of it in the bast . i only use a pickaroon to pull the wood around . never to pick it up . more splitting to come stay tune and thanks for stopping by john

That is the most efficient use of a pickaroon that I have seen so far. I like the wooden tongue jack and obvious block under the axle of the flat tire on the splitter. Big bucket and fast splitter cycle makes this look easy, even for an old guy like me. Do you have trouble with the wooden firewood crates freezing down in the winter?

hi there the wood and metal racks have to stay off the ground . . the splitter has legs on the back to hold it stable . i will show both in a video might be out in a week . good eye on the tire . thanks for stopping by john.

Probably could have split that wood right where it lay with a good ole maul and loaded it in the bucket and taken it right to the
stack. But I got some swamp maple that is quite ornery and your method would save some work.

Love your splitter. You have a very efficient method of splitting and stacking in the boxes. Looks like you were hustling pretty fast for an old guy? From another old guy.(75)

You must have missed my previous posts. I wonder why your splitter seems to work harder on the return stroke than on the forward splitting stroke?

hi there it is hydraulic multiplying because of the large rod . . its been working so good for around 45 -50 years i done want to mess with it , when i started making this no one even knew what a hydraulic wood splitter was . the only thing was in the back of a popular machines magazine , john

Ok i ses your deal about log lifts, but hear me out your loader is a log lift you still have to fill it not as often as a log lift but you still have to go fill it. I see your point about the round the table, but you are doing the same think just not as often. I like your videos and this is just my thinking nothing agenest what your doing.
