Yeah and clearly it's the latter so take the law off the books, implement a 15% sales tax on fireworks and save everyone the hassle and quit hitting up the taxpayers for more money for social programs for a few years.
I was a kid once and fireworks were fun and that but we didnt blast these things off for weeks leading up to and weeks after the 4th. I mean its non stop and they keep going till 12, 1am even 2am and its kind of carried away. Every house in the neighborhood gets going and it gets a bit tiring after awhile. Can you imagine the cost people are spending on these things......literally burning money. My parents would take me and buy me a few but that was it not tons and we certainly were expected to wrap it up at a decent time out of respect for our older neighbors. Plus we didn't have whatever they are shooting off now days the size of small cannons...some of these literally shake the house.
They don't necessarily seem like the type of people struggling to get by. I can't wrap my head around why some people waste so much money for 30 seconds of pretty lights. They may as well be crack heads.
If you’re going to make a law, enforce it. If you’re not going to enforce it, change the law or get rid of it.
