Heyy brother uboat gamer...like your vids... if you do the ignigma mission get the diving helmet if you sink a ship in shallow water you can raid the cargo ..its gold bars..rubber.lumber..and other items... i kinda got a cheat 400 rounds 8.8 deckgun..i took out a whole convoy...i got the extra slots mod also ..when i go pitate hunting shipwrecks...just wanted to spread that ..out... keep the cool vids comming
The norwegian ship was a valid target, not only is Norway a part of the allies by this point of the war, they are also travelling with an american convoy, which makes them a valid target even if they were neutral ifirc. Superb job with the convoy tho
Very well done attack. When attacking two merchants going the same speed and course try firing at the furthest away first. After the first torpedo is about 1/2 the way to the target, then fire the second shot at the closest one. This requires that both ships are targeted properly and requires a bit of good timing. Torpedoes should be set at the same speed too so that they arrive approximately at the same time. Even if one is a few seconds off, the ships won't have much time to react. I assume the TDC can track multiple targets and may require a bit of range and AOB adjustments on the second target just before firing.
as a norwegian myself im glad you left my countrymen alone.. but they for sure were fair game, that ship would be part of the norwegian merchant navy. which was part of the allies
Hi 🙂 Any ship sailing with an escorted convoy is good to sink. Also FYI, tankers are ALWAYS fair game, regardless of wich nationality and sailing solo or in a convoy. Well done. 🙂
Loving the series. Shame the U4 couldn't continue, I was getting into the storyline you were creating. ☺ The screen seems incredibly dark when you are in the map mode zoomed out making it difficult to see you plot your course sometimes. I'm really looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work
The first ship was a Liberty, but the other ones were C3. Easy tips to recognize those visually: C3 generally have a bright, unpainted bare metal hull and a lot more cranes, which also spread large beyond the hull if looked at frontally. Liberty ships have cranes neatly sorted withing the width of the hull when looked at frontally and are overall darker in color, with a single central funnel that looks a bit smaller and more integrated into the tower in comparison. The stern rudder section of the C3 also rises a lot more from the water when the Liberty has this nice round rear (that's how we like em :D). Can't board ships which are or were part of convoys either and they're fair game regardless of the flag in that scenario. Atm it's just the tankers which can't be boarded no matter what context. Lastly: the torpedo that ran in front of the C3 is because you need to reajust the TDC's target speed again if you set the eel from 30 to 40 or 44 kt and vice versa. That change probably set the TDC actual speed up to 7 or 7.5 kt instead of the 6 knots input. So you need to dial that back at 6 knots. It's not the evasive maneuver that caused the miss.
For measuring speed while catching up from the side, you wanna know the total length of a ship, measure how long you take to overtake it's length, divide the time with the length and you know by how many knots faster you are, subtract from your own speed, voila you know their speed. Unsure if I'm the inventor of it but it came to me naturally, I call it the "ain't got no time for that" (when the alternative is overtaking, stopping and measuring from a standstill). I keep a cheapo calculator or the phone handy for occasions like that. Generally you also wanna be starting with the furthest one away, you should be getting both torps on target at the same time.
CrazedJester I know this is an OLD video but please understand the difference between a LIBERTY SHIP and a C3 ship. i have noticed you do this quite a bit. It may confuse your followers. Look at the shape or color if nothing else
It's a challenge indeed. You must get outside the convoy's visual range and end run around them to get ahead. If you can see the funnel smoke just over the horizon that should be good. You must get far enough ahead so that you can submerge and wait in ambush. Use your map to plot out their speed course and figure a proper speed and course for your to avoid being seen and to intercept the convoy. Be patient. Decide if the risks are worth it if the escorts are many.
@@lanej5828 in Das Boot, they only had the flag out when going in and out of home port. User manual says to take it in on an attack because it could be spotted.
Hope you all enjoy!

Haha I figured better safe than sorry. Thank you Mats!
Once again, right when we need it most, CrazedJester uploads another uboat video. Nice!
BTW I love your content on UBOAT. A Uboat captain!
Thanks so much!

Well done. 🙂
Tankers are fair game, unless they are on the Axis side, of course.😉
Thank you so much!
You've earned yourself a subscriber, just got the game and enjoying it, but it's even more entertaining to watch you play it 🙂Great videos mate!
Thank you for the support!

I'll check out some brightness settings in the game
Good one Jeter

Phenomenal information here Ron. Thanks very much and I will keep that TDC info in mind for the next one

Nice video
Captains of those destroyers are gonna get fired.
I am surprised, u995 is an actual German sub from ww2, it survived the war and is a museum ship.
Would be cool to visit

Finding this game frustrating.I find big convoys 20+ ships.Cant get ahead of them without being spotted.Any advice?

This is perfect advise from David!
Better than silent hunter?
I really enjoy it, but I think Silent Hunter still takes the top spot. Silent hunter is much more sophisticated
attacking with the flag out again lol
is that a bad thing?
I know =(. Totally forgot
