The first time I heard this song it was in a UA-cam tribute video to a porn star that had died lol. Can't remember her name but the song fit perfectly.
Gary lived on 29th street behind Fairlawn elementary in Fort Pierce, my hometown! That neighborhood is all small working-class homes with shady streets, and those streets still look the same as they did in 1970, when Gary was just getting noticed! Times were hard, but we all believed in his future! He played the local clubs like the Palomino, the Fort Pierce Hotel, and of course Frankie and Johnnys! After he became famous he would still play our clubs and even bring people like Greg Allman and Dicky Bettes along with him! We all love and remember Gary in Fort Pierce Florida, his hometown!
Loved him in Lakeport, too. Often he and Billy Earl Chapman would hang at the Basshole Lounge, one of Gary's last gigs was New Year's Eve dance in Moore Haven. RIP Gary
the start of the song is well balanced. but at about 1:49, it kinda loses the "magic" of the first part. maybe i shouldn't be so critical, it's still one of my most favorite songs of all time.
Gary was the most underrated singer of all time. No one holds a candle to him with today’s trash on the radio. Gary and Keith Whitley both lived their songs. 2 legends gone way too soon.
Loved this song forever and was amazed to find out it was written by Dickey Betts.

Ken Park folks. One of the greatest films of the 00's.
Yes sir, outstanding
Had the pleasure to see him play at a couple of nightclubs/dancehalls in the 90’s. Really hits live better than studio version.

Beautiful song. It'll always remind me of the gangbang scene at the end of Ken Park. ❤😂
