    Pretty neat testing. I think I'm going to get this case. I prefer all air cooling and I think it's going to work out well for me. I want two front 140 intakes, two bottom 140 intakes, two top 140 exhausts, and the 120 in the back exhausting. A lot of possibilities for a ton of airflow in this case, and I really appreciate not having the PSU in the way! Thumbs up.

    I run a 4080 Noctua edition and a 12600KF slightly overclocked cooled by the U14S with two front A14 fans and two A12x25 in the back and on top right after the cooler. The top one is really crucial, because it helps to take away the heat coming form the cooler and keeps the VRM area from heat soaking. The fact that bottom fans do nothing for the GPU temps is really surprising, though.

  • @brianmiller1574
    @brianmiller1574 Рік тому +1

    This is great effort of establishing best fans config , but would be also great if you could used CPU air cooler rather then AIO to see how that effects both GPU and CPU cooling. I think, but again I only imaging having Air cooler and 2 fans on top, possibly one before CPU coolers fan would hurt slightly temps as the top exhaust fan would take good portion of front intake air and exhaust without even making its way to CPU cooler.
    Thanks

  • @stephen394
    @stephen394 11 місяців тому +1

    I would add that if you can't put rad in front (big GPU), there are actually better thermals (in my testing) with side radiator in, front fans out. The hot air goes directly out of the case and doesn't heat the GPU much, if at all.
    It's unorthodox, but if you look at the angles and airflow it makes sense.
    Note that bottom fans should be further left, and lower front 140 at a slower speed than the top one for optimal airflow.

    What I think is happening with the air cooler high temps is that the top two front fans are diverting a bunch of fresh air coming in from the from and side intake fans. I wonder what would be the effect of removing those 2 fans and potentially covering that space with something to prevent fresh air escaping before reaching the CPU cooler. It seems there are too many fans blowing air all over the place when there should be a clear path for the air to follow.
    I'm really considering this case for a 100% air cooled build, the case is gorgeous, but I'm not 100% convinced on its air cooling abilities, specially when compared to the Fractal Torrent case.

I dropped my 13700k idle, avg and stress test peak CPU temps between 3-6C switching the radiator from the recommended side exhaust to front intake. If you ever read this, overall nice test but I think you have mist few quite important ones. Especially with air cooled CPU you should have tried this:
    - rear intake (quite possibly remove rear fan all together as you have it way to close to the one on cpu cooler and set a cpu fans to get fresh air from the back of the case and push it to the front, 2x top (fans moved to the rear) intake, 2x front exhaust, no bottom fans
    - rear no fan set cpu cooler fans to intake from the rear and push to front, top and front set to exhaust and bottom intake
    I think in most cases your 3 top exhaust fan was actually hindering performance as whenever you have front intake, the most front top exhaust fan would just simply take cool air that was just pushed into case and exhausted it right back out without allowing it to be actually used to cool anything.
    Another one to test would be:
    - 1x front fan (top only) intake, 2x bottom intake, 2x top exhaust, 1x rear exhaust

  • @holbobb6777
    @holbobb6777 Рік тому

    With the air cooler configuration, the top fans should have been intake, blowing down onto the cpu. With them being exhaust, this meant the intake from the front 2 fans were being pulled straight out of the case. It would actually have been preferable to have no top fans at all, then having them as exhaust.

    I would like to see a comprehensive test like this with just the air cooler! For example during the test it was a NH-D15 instead of the NH-D15S which would be a lot better for clearance at nearly identical performance to the NH-D15, and also the side exhaust fans starved the air cooler from cool air, so the test should have been made without side exhaust fans for air cooling.

    Know this video’s older, but hoping someone can help:
    Can someone explain the difference between side fans on or off? Doesn’t look like there’s much difference when using front aio, 2 140mm bottom, 3 120mm top & 1 120mm back.
    In his graph, stated exact same temps.

    How about a negative pressure top mounted radiator and no other fans

    So the thermals for this case is worse than the O11 Dynamic Mini? Or at least that is what the data is showing between your O11 Dynamic Mini and O11 Air Mini video.

    so with the side rad set to exhaust and top 3 exhaust plus the back fan exhaust you have 6 exhaust with 2 intake on the bottom and 2 intake oat the front is that a negative airflow scenario?

    my arctic liquid freezer ii 240 doesn't fit the side exhaust config otherwise my front fans wont lock on its place.

    Thanks for the great vid, helped me setup my fans! :)
    Noob question: How do you control the ram sticks color coz I think we use the same - hyperX fury 3200mhz - pls correct me if I'm wrong though, but I don't know how to control mine. They're not even showing the same colors at the same time. Thank you!

    Hey Christopher, I know this is an older video but wanted to reach out to see how you had the actual fan headers connected on this build? I was trying to make it out from the interior pictures but it's ab it challenging with the contrast. I have the same case and configuration but am getting significant fan noise, I currently have all 8 of the non-radiator fans connected to a PWM Fan hub at fan input 4 on my board and although I've adjusted the BIOS settings to PWM I'm still hearing a LOT of fan sound. Thanks!

    Would not recommend a 240mm aio for a 5900x and better cpu temps are rather high go for a 280mm or more

    Do you think itll be good to have 3 120’s on top as exhaust? Will the front fan near the intake fans be exhausting that fresh air out?

    Which fans do you suggest exactly for intake and exhaust in Combination with a 280mm aio in the Front?
    120mm ?
    140mm ?
    I do have a Corsair iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX 280mm at the moment.
    And i thought about combine them with more corsair fans but noctua and arctic seems to have better cooling and less noise option.
    Thank you very much!
    And i apoligize for my english!

    Nice, but . . . why WHY!!! did they made it shorter than the regulat O11 Mini? now a 360 AIO cant fit at the top, neither a 280 on the side . . .

    is the rear in this case 120mm or 140mm? Currently I have Phanteks P500a with 420mm front as intake and 280mm radiator top as exhaust and 140mm rear exhaust as well. Im thinking switch to this case for better airflow. Props to Lian Li that listen to their customers and make full size psu for this new Lian Li O11 Air mini case.

      The rear can hold a 140mm fan if you're getting an older version of the case. The new, updated one will only have room for one 120mm fan at the back.
      Edit: The new one, i meant the new Air mini with the mesh front and not the glass "dynamic" version.

    Why are these temps so much higher than the Lian Li mini snow white? 20+ in many cases with the same setups. Was this case one with the flawed mesh?

    Looking into this case. I will have two AIO radiators - one on my CPU is a 280mm, one for my GPU is a 240mm. How would you recommend I set that up?
