Transferring your Design onto Lino

You have a drawing and you have a piece of lino... but what's the best way of transferring one to the other? Here are a few options for you.

Thanks Holly, another informative video. I have personally found that Sharpie and graphite tend to transfer to the print unless I do some clean up before printing.

Good tip! If I use sharpie I try to keep it in the areas that will be carved away. Cleaning up before printing is usually a good idea, I agree

Permanent pens ideally but permanent pencils and carbon paper are better as they are less likely to transfer to the print

@@Handprinteduk thank you. I used a faber-castell Pitt pen but it seems to be smudging. Sharpies are a safe bet?

this is helpful for beginners, although its only half of a video... you did not cover one of the most common methods of transfer out there, that is the ink jet and glue method, and also there is the laser jet and glue method as well. there is also the key block method of transfer. and a few other ones less common. It is a great idea for a video, but by leaving out so many other common methods of transfer you produced a kind of mediocre video that comes up really lacking by leaving out information.
