John Harvey, former UW Organ Prof, loved Austin Organs. In all probability, he would have been happy with this instrument- so his ghost lives on. His wife Jean, a very sweet pers
God. Kill those mixtures! Each octave obliterates the octave below. Even in the flutes. The 2’ shouldn’t be louder than the 8’. The strings are ok. Swell reeds are good. Antiphonal Reed is quite nice. Just nothing really pretty American classic ugh Needs a nice open diapason so your ear doesn’t shift up an octave with every addition
Is it me, or is this too much instrument for the space? It’s something of a McMansion of an instrument; not terribly attractive. Something tells me that no one ever touches or hears half of the stops on this instrument.
An organ tuner's dream!
You still need to visit Austin Opus 2711 in Edina, MN. 69 ranks, 1988.
I would play both the 16' Posaune, 32' Contre Posaune and the 16' Fagotto in the pedal!
Very nice love the voices
My church here in Pennsylvania of the same name has a restored and retrofitted 1933 Austin. Not anywhere near as big as this one though
Very pretty and great sounding organ
I would like to Allen Organ or Rodgers Organs make a ample set for their electric organs.
An interesting demo of a fine instrument. But I wish you could have shown the complete Pedal division rather than just a few stops.
Was gonna say, the Pedal flues weren't covered.

...person was the organist at First United Methodist for many years.
Very nice 👍
Were you acquainted with Bertram Strickland of Austin Organs? Great organist!
Must be a bit of a nightmare to tune those smaller pipes on the very front of the facade 😅

Just nothing really pretty

True regarding the 2' but the Mixture should be bright and the topping on the cake, (so to speak)
It's an organ. Nothing really anything to write home about. Sort of underwhelming.

To be honest, that's a lot of pipes making a pretty nasty noise.
Very coarse tuning - not pleasant to your ears. The edge on some of those ranks needs to be softened for a more mellow sound.
