For Paperhead, one thing I mind of felt myself in want of was a stomp. Well, less of a "stomp" and more of a "fastfall" type deal. As it was, stomping and combo-stomping enemies felt a bit awkward. That extra bit of precision would've probably felt really good. The only thing would be balancing that so you can't just bunny-hop an enemy to death...
You know when you said honorable mentions I was expecting 2 more games after them. It's not honorable mentions if they are definitively a part of the list.
I am SO GLAD you mentioned Echo Point Nova! I’ve been playing it for the past couple weeks and even though it’s just a demo it’s already so engaging and it even has functional multiplayer!
Landfall (Clustertruck, TABS, Knightfall) is making a new game that looks to have a lot of movement. "HASTE: Broken Worlds" its called. Not an fps at all, but certainly do be going fast
i trust enough this man to see those games, i love how he tell me that i can go over the speed limit in a game and make in the way multiple felonys on random things
'Paperhead' played extremely well! I appreciated that the horror inspiration allowed for a more unconventional level structured and we could actually have pacing and explore in ways that are unlike other indie boomer shooters that seem content to emulate 'DOOM' from 1985 over and over again. On the flip side... I hate horror and I hate jumpscares and, if 'Paperhead' is going to commit to being a horror game, I want it to at least do it right. I'm a bit uncertain about how your weapons have about as much ammo capacity as your hands have finger capacity but I think it's okay because the game's all about using your foot and the pencil while the guns are more supplementary. 'Grimhook' looks like a far more tidy execution of the hook from 'Shady Knight' and it looks much neater when it comes to executing combos with the hook, whether it's pulling yourself towards enemies, pulling enemies towards you, and that sort of thing. Maybe it could introduce a boss fight with a dragon or an assault chopper or some other high speed aerial threat that you need to balance keeping away from and closing in? I have to say that the sniper rifle sells me less on 'Echo Point Nova'. It feels like an odd choice of weapon for a game where I'm moving uncontrollably fast and trying to hit human-sized enemies from six continents away. I feel like the game needs more unique weapons that make the most of the movement, like something that shoots a giant bouncy ball that launches harpoons at enemies every time you charge into it, which also changes its direction. Also, can't let it go unmentioned that it was developed by Greylock, who developed 'Severed Steel'. I wouldn't get myself hyped up over a "Q1 2024" release date; that could mean anything! And I've seen games swing right by that date all the same!
I'm the dev of Spring Dash - and I gotta say, I'm pushing pretty hard for Q1 2024. This game will come out by the end of march or I swear to god I'm gonna lose my mind lmao
eh i think a sniper is a pretty good choice not only does it makes some shots feel more dramatic itll be a near instant shot from point A to B and it helps with aim maybe a scope with some drawbacks to help with aiming but i think its really clean
Hoverboard stands out. Ended up watching a speedrun for each of these and I liked Echo Point Nova most. Led me to Severed Steel which is nuts and easily the best I've seen.
if you want a movement game like grimhook but with more story i cannot recommend "a story about my uncle" enough, it did most of the things grimhook did and has a really nice story to go alongside with it. it doesnt really have any fighting mechanism but its still fun to go flying around
Love to see another Funke type youtuber in the scene. the way you made these and the slight comedic value that made it watchable and the fact that the v1 was probably some vr chat avatar made me appreciate your just a youtuber using everything he has to put effort and style into his videos
Worth mentioning that the Echo point nova dev made a game called Severed steel and it's absolutely worth playing if you like movement shooters and a must if you are a fan of "Blame!".
I am looking some bullet hells mainly for the experience that watching binding of Isaac and enter the gundegen bring as mr. Huts and zackscot played them and make up my childhood memories. Also I played bloody hell which has five bosses and it’s pretty interesting also movement games also caught my attention due to overkill i like random shit flying on my screen and the effect of being like holy shit which enemy to prioritize
It may not seem like the most movement intensive game, but DEVIL DAGGERS requires you to skillfully dance around the arena, dodging skulls, bone snakes, tentacle towers, and other abominations. The shooting may seem simple with only 1 weapon and 2 firing modes (rapid and shotgun) but as you collect gems dropped from enemies, your daggers get improved with firing rate and amount. But the shotgun if timed right can give you a massive jump, and b-hopping is an intended mechanic to keep you away from danger. Also go in blind like I (mostly) did for the best experience of discovering how to miniplate enemies and best utilize movement.
I have been working on a game for the past 6 months, a 2d isometric movement game based on mechanics and concepts from Unreal Tournament and Quake3. Would love to see you review 2d movement games, or even better play test my game with me ? Its a multiplayer arena battler.
Bro, try out line of action. It's a brutal pve and (soon) pvp movement shooter in cyberpunk setting. The game realeses somewhere in the fourth quarter of 2024!
I have a funny game recommendation. The game is called "Mullet Madjack" although it is finish (I think) it is really cool. The game is literally Post Void but you are connected to twitch chat and you must kill or else twitch chat gets bored and you die because twitch chat is your life support or something.
you want speed? check out Cyber Hook. it'll make Spring Dash feel slow by comparison (probably. I've not actually played spring dash, it just doesn't look as fast as cyber hook felt)
If I'm forced to program I'm making a movement game where you're just a torso and legs, don't steal I've already planned out how the movement system works
I wonder if you could tap into the "stylistic" vibe if you lowered the FPS on your motion tracking I'm a little thrown off by how the tracking isn't butter smooth, and I think it'd be neat to try to lean the other direction
Hello, you're probably not going to read this, but play Golden Light. I don't want to say anything about it in this comment if you haven't heard about it, but if you haven't, please at least look into it. I personally feel it's a hidden gem.

WHHHHYYYYY
I AM LOSING MY MIND, WHY IS EVERY OTHER VIDEO SPONSORED BY WAR THUNDER?
WHAT SICK HELL IS THIS????
Pls do vids about console supported movement games
I like how when V1 died your avatar became V2. Peak storytelling
cant wait for v3
"The gameplay is more like doom or ultrakill"
*shows doom and neon white*
Was thinking the same lol
saw that as well
@@aCreativeNamee same
Yeah I noticed that too.
Why sprint master for pfp ?
Yooo! Thank you so much for featuring my game (Spring Dash). I really appreciate it :)
wow
Good luck! And don't be afraid to reach out to other game devs if you need help with future mechanics and stuff!
Best of luck! It looks awesome!
Wow your game is actually amazing!
@@DaffaMurtafa thankyou so much!! I'm glad you had fun

That swap from v1 to v2 a really nice detail
Thanks for talking about Grimhook! The team is so hyped, glad you enjoyed! :)
wait ur one of the devs?
The V1 to V2 change was such a good detail!! (I've never played minecraft idk what that means)
bruh
No way I just saw this, I'm the composer for spring dash! That compliment made my day, glad to see the music hit the right tones.
Little did you know....
I ALREADY HAVE WARTHUNDER

(Also another banger as always baby)
This video better blow up, these games need the recognition, especially Paperhead! Great work as always Creem.

The use of a VRC avatar + green screen is such a neat concept, damn

Mid air combat in ULTRAKILL: "ENEMY FIGHTER! 3 O'CLOCK HIGH! SHOOT IT DOWN, NOW!!!
Mid air combat in grimhook: "the floor has free healthcare :)"

paperhead gives me Edmund McMillen and Madness (those old flash animations and games) vibes. Gonna have to try that out.
"V1 talking about his favorite games"
3:11 why did bro put neon white as ultrakill 💀
Nothing better than starting a movement based discussion with a Tank(control) Game Sponsor

I really appreciate it man, thanks :)
That doom game your just going insane
3:11 "the gameplay is similar to Doom or ultrakill" proceeds to show neon white
0:07 no you’re V1 Ultrakill.
Love how grimhook looks like toned down, first person DMC5 when you were saying you spend more time in the air.
Worth mentioning that the Echo point nova dev made a game called Severed steel and it's absolutely worth playing if you like movement shooters and a must if you are a fan of "Blame!".
you should make a video on warfork the movement is crazy
blud deserves 100M subs

"I am youre beast" is a not quite but movement game and it definitely worth playing

Love the games presented, still can’t get over the Omega Strikers music in the background. As much as I love movement I love anime air hockey

You should try a game called rilla shotgun it’s vr but it’s insanely good.

I got one old game that doesn't even feel old its Combat Madness Project NEXUS

Ngl I thought paperhead would be a ska studios game off the art style and got so hyped
more of this stuff PLEASE. maybe some games on Mac?
Next can you find a vr movement like titan fall
we makin it out of subscriptions wit this one 🗣 💯
I'm really looking forward to Haste: broken worlds, by landfall. Can't wait for a demo or something.
War Thunder ad with cybergrind soundtrack goes so hard
you want speed? check out Cyber Hook. it'll make Spring Dash feel slow by comparison
(probably. I've not actually played spring dash, it just doesn't look as fast as cyber hook felt)
the first thing i see being the War Thunder title card on a movement shooter video made me laugh a lot im ngl
One Game I would highly recommend is Blood thief. it is in a very early state but very nice for where it is.
I would like to see in paperhead, for the melee to be a razor or scissors. That would be awesome
Or maybe even a box cutter!
echo point nova released last week and it's blastin!! 99% positive reviews on steam ❤
If I'm forced to program I'm making a movement game where you're just a torso and legs, don't steal I've already planned out how the movement system works
That's such a cool idea I love that
@@CreemSmile Wait a moment oh no, I'm being forced to do it, oh no

This editing style and humor really reminds me of Samifying. I LOVE IT
Reaver was hella fun, recomend if you liked overkill
finally, a game to play other than ultrakill
I recommend you to try Ghostrunner 2 (or 1) they are one of the best action game ever created
oh god new creem video about shmoovement games i'm probably gonna be broke unless these are free
2:07 to skip sponsor
Devious behaviour
You should 100% play Killbug it is so underrated
Echopoint nova is like the dream fps i always imagined i would make if i could
I was just thinking abt paperhead like 5 mins ago, i forgot what it was called tho. thank you so much for the name!
You really need to try blood rush it a really cool movement game made by an Indie french developer
I wonder if you could tap into the "stylistic" vibe if you lowered the FPS on your motion tracking
I'm a little thrown off by how the tracking isn't butter smooth, and I think it'd be neat to try to lean the other direction
Ooooohhh damn I actually really like this idea, no promises if it'll make it to the final cut but still I appreciate the suggestion!
i just played robobeat few days ago, it slams, it's kinda like ultrakill but with music, i think you'd like it
Play Reaver. The guns have _button combos_
I am looking forward to more rogue like games, the last video was really nice!
echo point nova slaps. I've 100%'d it and it was a wonderful game.
please make more list of fast paced moment shooters
didnt expect to hear omega strikers music in a video

Awesome video, ty for the recommendation. Out of curiosity, what program you use for the model rigging you use in the video?
Its all done in VR Chat!
3:36 hurt my feelings so much

The pain of you saying that game will probably be releasing before silksong because its likely true
The skullgirl music in the background hits so hard
I wish more People would talk about Devilated and ILLWILL they're so weird and cool
WOAH THE PAPER GAEM LOOKS GOOD THANKS FOR RECOMMEND!!!!
Woooooooooooooo!
Also wanna add boxcutter or scissors. I wanna see more wicked weapon with more wicked gameplay
You should cover the game Reaver, its really fun and similar to ultrakill
I found spring dash when it just came out
It now has more abilities
Still loving the Omega Strikers music in your videos lmao
You need to check out neon boost it's actually a really good game
Nice mocap!
Talk about Dimensional Slaughter !
Bro said ultra kill and showed neon white
Finally someone's doing The Badger Technic©™
11 months ;ater and paper head still isnt out
3:05 rip the under-appreciated audio design that carried that, there's literally no animation to be weighty it's all in the sound.
Ya'll should try the full version of Echo Point Nova
you should make a video about blood thief
AYYYY ITS ME!(Great vid tho nice job its given me more games to ULTRAKILL In)
