Serotonin Skies took a total of 3 years and 8 months to come to life, since it was thought of. It traveled thousands of miles, across continents, oceans, people, space and time, to be here. This video is a never-before-seen recording of the first time it was performed and captured on October 22nd, 2023,- live off the floor - no effects, no autotune, just pure energy. This video was shot in Mekeli's previous home - a space of comfort and creation that sadly exists no more - but that feeling of 'home' was bravely carried on and never died.
Sal created space for reflection and guided me to communicate with and acknowledge every version of the song that has existed - what it meant at the start of its journey and what it meant 'now'. After the guided meditation, I wrote a letter to myself in my journal to get ready to record what was (in many ways) the first song I ever wrote, and the one that has the power to make me fervently sentimental.
