The new dispensation announced by the Báb challenged existing notions of religion and revelation. The Báb’s commentary on the Súrih of Joseph is a highly intricate and complex composition which betrays the authorial presence of the young messiah at every word. Yet, almost every word is Qur’anic, however rearranged and ordered to conform to the new message. Thus revelation is seen in a different light. While it is certainly divine in origin, the creativity and the boldness it represents should be seen as coming directly from the Báb Himself. Thus revelation emerges as a cooperative activity, one shared by God and the manifestation. Details and examples of such artistry and creativity will be illustrated through provisional translation.

One time I had Mormon young men come to my door. The day was very hot, so I invited them in for some water. I took advantage of the situation, of course, and told them about the Bahá'í Faith. One of them asked me when the Faith began so I answered, "Two hours and eleven minutes after sunset on the eve of May 23rd, 1844." He looked at me in awe and breathed, "Wow." We're the only religion that knows exactly when it began. I find that kinda remarkable myself.

Amazing talk. Very informative and revelatory. May I just ask at about 45-46 mins into the talk, the references to the dream of the severed head - may I confirm that it was a dream of Imam Hussain and not Mullah Husayn? (mullah Husayn was mentioned three times)

Why is it impossible to obtain copies of the Bab's writings in their original language, whether Persian or Arabic, from the Baha'i publishing trust. Your commentary would be so much more valuable if it would act as a compliment to the primary documents. A response would be extremely welcomed.

Are the words the Báb revealed in the shape of a star translated?

Baha'u'llah wrote several times that the Qayyum Asma is the greatest text, even greater than his own revelations.
