Cool, cool...Nike. Personally, I don't think that's going to be the biggest deal for most folks, but I know some really love the 4mm drop, so this could be a good thing for you in the context it is 4mm after all. Awesome - hope they’re working well for you! Yeah, with cross-training shoes I always try to preserve them by limiting their day to day usage - makes your investment last sooo much longer!
This is a training shoe, not a regular shoe. They should be used for training not for wearing all day every day. A regular shoe is more comfortable but sucks for training.
LOVED the review, man! I’m a Krav Maga instructor and practitioner, and I’ve gone through several pairs of shoes trying to find one that gives me both stability AND comfort. I never felt good doing combat in running shoes and although my Metcon 6 shoes have been my faithful companions, I find the flat soles uncomfortable towards the end of the day or when we do sprints. The best part of my training is when I take off my Metcons and close up shop in my sandals. Your review has convinced me to get these new Metcon models because it was very thorough, plus I liked how you made emphasis on the incorporation of React tech in this shoe (I LOVE React tech).
Hell yeah, Jose! I really appreciate you providing additional context and insights here, too, and taking the time to write this out. The Metcon 6 will always be a solid choice, but it sounds like per your scenario the 7 may fair better. That being said, please keep me posted with your thoughts! Have a good one + thank you!
I love that you highlight how there the exposed react foam by the midsole, that’s the sort of thing that makes me angry, where there are weak points in the shoe and you just know that that point is likely to fail first…it really puts a downer on when I’m wearing a pair of shoes
@@thatfitfriend After my first month of use... I really liked the Nike Metcon 7. Did not find quite useful the "Lock laces" system but everithing else is perfect! I also wanted to mencionate to you a new model that I bought, the Pure XT Training from PUMA. They are one of the most comfy shoes I've had. Just in case you may wanna take a look at them, they aren't any reviews on that model yet. At 80 USD, might be a middle price Tag that totally worth it for a lot of peopple.
Hey! Thank you 💪 I appreciate you saying that - I do my best to test models how they’re intended to be used. Too many fitness reviews not actually highlighting physical training in the product, imo!
That review was really awesome! I love Olympic lifting in my metcon 6s with the heel insert inside them. Did you try heavy squat snatching or squat cleaning with the 7s?
Thank you 💪 Tbh, I didn’t go super heavy in either of those verticals (in a pretty brutal off-season block for powerlifting so fatigue mitigation has been brutal ☠️), but if you’re a fan of the 6s with the inserts, then I’d say stick with that setup. Thanks for getting this out so quick. Love how you break down shoes. Would you spend the money on the 7 if my 6 is still okay? Is there enough of an upgrade?
Tried mine today, after 4 years in Nano 6. It’s definitely quite narrow. I have to size up. I’m not 100% sold on confort after 1 workout. Will give it another try.
I think I may wait on these as I finally bought the 6's on sale. Im also gonna give the Reebok Nano X1 Adventure a try first since I want to get back to running outside. Anyways, I enjoyed your review and I definitely wanna get a pair in the black/white unless more colorways drop later.
Thank you - tbh, if the 4 XD are still working well, then I’d say keep rocking them because the 7s will be here! If you’re ready for a new pair though and the 4s are kicking the can, then go same size 💪💪
Your reviews are the best!!! 👏👏 I was waiting for this video... If you have to choose, which is more athletic and versatile, Metcon 7 or React turbo? 😊
Thank you! Great question - they’re both very different in regard to fit. If I had to go pure athletic/versatile, I’d prob go with the react metcon turbo, but note that model will fall short in some CrossFit-focused activities. 💪
Both will be fine, but if you want the ability to add a bit of a heel wedge, then go 6. That way you can train with a 4mm drop or raise the heel to 12mm if you want more of a drop for squats/lower body training! Either way, I think you’ll be safe, but the 6 can give you more range in regard to different ankle environments! And thank you 💪
Hi Jake Thank you for the detailed review I was wondering if metcon 7 is worth the upgrade from nano8 I have the nano 8 for some years now and overall they are very comfortable and solid shoes What do you think ?
Eh, if the Nano 8 is still working well, then I'd stick with them for now! Orrrrr if you can find a new pair somewhere, I'd stay the course - the 8 was a solid model and they work well. The Metcon 7 will also work, but the toe box will feel snugger and I'm not impressed with this model's [the 7's] outsole durability long-term. Hope that helps provide some direction!
Great videos on your channel, thanks for the information! My left leg is 1cm shorter and I have to get my shoes built up or wear inners for better hip balance. I've been struggling a bit to find a good solution. Inners, sometimes don't provide a nice support and can be hard, as well as it can make my foot feel squashed, even though I have slender feet. On the other hand, it is tricky to get a proper built up grip when adding it to the outside. I'm looking for cross trainers to do cardio kind of work outs (perhaps lots of lateral jumps etc). I'm mostly looking for great support and stability. Generally, I like a lower heel-to-toe drop. Do you perhaps have any recommendations? I'm not price sensitive, just want a good solution so that I can enjoy my workouts :)
Hey, thank you! Note, the shoes below are okay options for cardio-focused training, but for longer distance runs they'll fall short - much like most cross-training shoes, IMO! Check out the Altra Solstice XT 2 (0mm heel-to-toe drop) or the HYLETE Circuit II (comes with three insoles and you can rotate between 0mm, 4mm, 8mm). If you have additional questions need more recommendations, hit me!
Right? Seems like all the major cross-training shoes bumped up their heel-to-toe drops. These have the same as the Nano X1, but with a bit more of a lifting-focused approach!
The Metcon 5/6 both rock a 4mm drop, too. The UA TriBase Reign 2/3s have 2mm, and the Nano 9/X both have 4mm! All of those models are solid within their own right! If you have more questions on these and future models, feel free to hit me 💪
I have probably a weird/stupid question. How much space should there be between the longest toe and the front of the shoe? It seems like you want some extra space on running shoes, and a tighter fit in oly shoes.. but how should the fit be on more versatile shoes (lifting+HIIT)? I just got the Metcon 7 and these are basically my first "good" gym shoe.
Not a weird question at all! It can vary based on preferences, a shoe’s fit, and one’s foot anatomy. I generally recommend ~.3.5 inches. This is usually a good balance between not having the toes jam and bunch from plyo/etc., but also not swimming in your shoes to where the heels start to slip. When In doubt, do a few jumps, lunges, and squats - basically movements to test how the shoes feel through dynamic movement with various degrees of foot/ankle movement - and if your toes don’t feel too cramped and your shoes are not slipping off at all, then you’re probably on the money for your fit 💪
I’m a little confused by the hand stand push-up heel clip…on previous metcons, that part would stick out to provide contact with the wall. On the 7, it seems like the heel support/stabilizer is what juts out the most.
Agreed - it’s almost like it was added just to say it’s there. However, the hyperlift does protrude a bit and it offers a similar feel to the prior heel clips. But I’m totally with you there…like is it really needed with the reworked heel? Eh
@@thatfitfriend P.S. I ended up with the react turbos after your review and comparison and absolutely love them. Just the right amount of cushioning (without sacrificing stability) for short runs. Just what I needed. Would love to see a comparison video between the turbos and 7.
Hey Jake, do you think that the Nike Metcon 7 FlyEase and the Nike Air Zoom Pulse shoes are good for general strength training? I don't do either Crossfit or powerlifting, just generic weight training including the deadlift, the squat and the bench press.
Yeah, Nike rolls out a new model every year similar to the Reebok Nano and other major models. Major construction updates come every two years with these models. IMO, in many ways I feel as though the annual releases are overkill. The 8 will be largely the same as the 7 with a tweaked upper construction.
Mr. Boly what would you recommend between nike react metcons turbo vs metcons 7 ? I don't do heavy lifitng in cf ..never have gone higher than 185lbs in any wods not even squating or deadlift.. would like to upgrade from the vans ultrarange.
The metcon 4 is super solid and doesn’t have any free play during agility training like the 5 and 6. With this free play I respond slower specially during sprints!!!
@@sergioortiz1839 none in particular that are regularly stocked (they’re my fave metcon, too!), sometimes you’ll find them randomly at smaller on retailers and in person outlets, but those occasions are getting less and less as time passes. And of course! 💪
Thank you! Honestly, they feel very similar. Note, I don't have a dialed in food scale to put them on atm, but based on the good ol' feel test - there's no super clear heavier/lighter model!
@@thatfitfriend thanks so much for the response. Would have been nice if they were lighter, but with all the added tech seems fair that they are similar in weight. Keep up the good work on the vids, so far the best review I have seen for the 7's.
Used today for Tabata training ... unfortunately the "collar" around the ankle is very stiff and in some movements, where the foot tilts sideways, gives a lot of discomfort to the malleolus, especially internal ... I think I will have to relegate them to the weight room .
Yeah, it should break-in over time, but this is definitely an area of performance that can be hit or miss for athletes/lifters. Not a bad move though using them for just lifting, then looking into a Tabata-focused model. That would prolong the lifespans of both shoes methinks!
Both good, but for slightly different reasons! I’ve actually written a detailed comparison of these models if you want to check that out below. thatfitfriend.com/nike-metcon-7-vs-nobull-trainer-vs-metcon-6/ Check that review out and Hit me with any specific or further questions you have about these two 💪
I have two friends using the Metcon 7 and both of them experience front of the sole coming off after sled pushes indoor, running or jumping. Clearly a designer flaw that need to be corrected for the next model.
100%! I made a note of that in my written review and have the outsole on my right model lipping in the same spot due to the exposed midsole. When will companies learn
I have the Romaleo 3s and the Metcon 6s. I've been using the Metcons with the heel insert. Would I be better squatting with the Romaleos? Great review!
IMO, I wouldn’t overthink it and experiment with both and opt for whichever you like best! You’ll likely find that you prefer one over the other based on how much elevation works best for your squat mechanics 💪 Thank you!!
@@thatfitfriend I tried it out this morning and the same weight as last week felt easier. My feet felt more planted. I'm not sure if it's mental but a few more sessions should be needed to further analyze.
@@matthendrickson8997 love it - normal to feel more planted in weightlifting shoes for a lot of lifters, IMO! Very different outsole constructions which lead to a more “locked down” feeling in many cases.
Grass is okay - not amazing, but not terrible! Concrete is solid. The forefoot grooves grip concrete surfaces really well. Sizing is a bit more narrow throw the mid-foot and forefoot, but true in length 💪
The 7s provide more arch support compared to prior models, but may not feel the best for a wider foot since their last runs fairly slim. Would you be able to try them on at all before grabbing a pair?
@@thatfitfriend Yes, definitely! Will try them on before I make a selection. Thank you so much Jake! Lots of love from India 🇮🇳 Keep making awesome content like these ❤️
The Nano X1s are okay and NOBULL Trainers tend to be pretty good, too! If you can find them, Nano 8s are also awesome. What do you currently wear/prefer? I can make better recs by understanding what you prefer!
Man I had a much older pair of Reebok Nano 5s. I like the wider toe but my foot is actually wider and taller at the midfoot/bridge. I'm leaning toward Olympic style lifting shoes because I don't do much cross training or plan to anytime soon. I just wanted a very planted, supported, well ventilated wide shoe. I research the Do-wins but I heard they have very poor ventilation due to the materials. The 2nd one that is highly recommended are the Reebok Liftinf Legacy 2s which some have said are wider then the Nike and Adidas but man for $200 I'm still debating lol.
Most cross trainers will be solid for you! The only reason I’d say “eh” to the Metcon 7 is because you could probably find a solid deal on a Metcon 6 or Nano X if you’re interested in this style of shoe 💪💪
At the Moment, i am using the metcon 6 for training but i Need a more stable shoe due to that i have pes valgus in both my feet. Which should you recommend? The 6 , 7 or Go the a nobull of Reebok?
They'd be fine, IMO. But, in my coaching opinion what you could try without having to invest in new trainers/more stable option. Try standing on a slanted surface and perform your raises barefoot/in socks. I'll generally use a slant board if the grip tape isn't too tough or I'll use a plat and anchor it down. The slanted surface can be fantastic for added stability so you don't need to stress balance, plus you can use the slanted surface as a cue for reps, and you can generally work through + manipulate better ROMs for your individual needs.
So, the metcon 7 finally arrived. Sadly, I have heel slippage problem. I have a wider foot and a slightly lower arch and so I ordered half a size up. But a size down will hurt me in the mid-foot area. Do you think I should tackle this problem with heel grips? Or try some other training shoes?
Ah dang, that’s always an issue with the slimmer, low-profile design of the Metcon models for folks with wider feet. I’m sorry, that’s annoying. Imo, I’d say go with a model that has a last that is more conducive to your foot’s anatomy! That way you don’t have to size up just for the sake of the shoe not killing your foot and it will fit a bit more true. If you need recs, lmk!
@@richasingh893 - I’ll say I have the same issue with the Metcons. I’ve found the Proejct Rock PR4 has been great but it took a couple workouts to break in.
Hi, I wonder if these are good shoes to be able to do deadlifts and squats in. At the same time to have intervals on the treadmill. I on my intervals i runn first 10min. then 45sek/15sek for 10 times at a high speed
They'll be good for the lifting and should work fine for that style of running. They're obviously not technically built for running, but honestly, they should work for the more casual running and then sprint-focused work you've laid out!
so the heel drop is almost twice as high. it just means you’re moving in a less range of motion. after awhile, you’ll have less mobility by not moving in a full range of motion while training.
Am looking for overall training shoes which includes, running, weights, HIIT. Am totally confused among metcon 7, superrep 2, Project rock3 🙁.Would you please suggest me one?
These are alllll fairly different! My thoughts below - Metcon 7 - Better model for lifting and more CrossFit style workouts. SuperRep 2 - Good for classes/HIIT training. This model could not be ideal for heavier loading in the context of frequent barbell training. PR3 - Okay "all-arounder" but the sizing is a tad weird and it's definitely not going to be the best in a nice functional fitness setting. Also, fairy high price tag.
hey man iam thinking of quitting my nike romaleos for lowbar squatting iam feeling tipping over a bit or losing balance lately i do have converse but are to small in the toes do you reccoment maybe the metcon 6 without the heel for that? ive tried squatting in my socks lately and it feels more stable etc but socks dont feel that safe lol i have pretty big feet size 49.5 so reebok nanos etc dont have my size, maybe a nike jordan would also work? it feels a better in the toe section compared the converse
Worth a shot or a pair of barefoot shoes if you like having a zero drop for squats and don't want to opt for socks! Can shout some recs if you need them!
@@thatfitfriend for me squatting on socks I can do it in the gym but my socks get ripped after doing that couple of times then I can buy new socks every 3 weeks lol I wish I would have size 45 or something for shoes but iam having 49.5 and most shoes don't have that size... Iam just gonna jude my Nike Jordan 1 's I think I've also some merrel vapor gloves for walking outside just for foothealth but squatting in them no thanks have tried that didn't like that at all
Depends on what you want, honestly! Both will work just fine for most lifters. When it comes to preference, Converse is a zero drop shoe so the foot will be sitting flat in the shoe, where as the Nike Metcon has a 4mm heel-to-toe drop so there will be a little heel elevation. What do you currently use and do you like them?
Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it, I’m currently using converse all star I do like them just looking around for something similar with a wider toe box, trying to avoid bunions.
Great question! With my review work, I'm in close contact with the Nike PR/product folks for new drops/releases. I believe the 7s are available through other retailer sites in the US like EastBay and a couple of others, but don't quote me because they may be sold out! The Nike Metcon 7 should be dropping on August 7th if I'm not mistaken for the US on Nike. The go-live date has been shifting for the last month, which is def frustrating to say the least to keep track of.
I currently wear no bulls. But it's the only crossfit shoes I've ever worn. I wouldn't mind trying a pair of nanos or metcons, but I'm also not against getting another pair of no bulls.
@@manbearpig637 Gotcha - these are four solid models to explore if you're wanting to try something new: Nike Metcon 6, Reebok Nano X, STR/KE MVMNT Haze Trainer, and R.A.D ONE. These are all in my top 5 atm for CrossFit and more serious cross-training! I have reviews on all of these, btw!
Hi, i have a pair of metcon 4 was thinking if i should upgrade to 7, one of the things i really dont like in my current ones is the noise, they are very noisy in gym floor, do the same still applies to 7 or they are more silent? thanks
@@thatfitfriend thanks for the answer jake! the other option i was considering was the nano x or the nano x1, but since i do more weightlifting the metcons are a better bet right?
It's pretty variable, honestly. If there are going to be breakdown issues - that's typically where you'll experience them, but the timeline in which they happen can be pretty widespread. IMO, you should be fine with them, and if you're nervous, you could always swap them for the 8. That model's materials seems to be a tad buffed around the toe.
Metcon 7 is a bit more narrow throughout especially at the toe box (pretty much all of the Nike Metcons have slimmer shoe constructions). Both shoes fit true in regard to length!
@That One Texan Yes and no. There are mechanical changes that happen up the kinetic chain as we elevate the heel and work on different stack heights. In regard to the Metcon 6's feel versus the Metcon 7's, it does a feel tad different, but I think that's more of a result of the reworked midsole in the 7. I think if it had a similar outsole/midsole to the 6 and upped the drop by 3mm, then it wouldn't be as noticeable. I could go in more depth on this, but idk how nerdy you want me to get in regard to heel elevations and movement patterns 😅
Just received mine : So disappointed ! I Have the 6 and I was a fan ... The 7 is very comfy and that's all that is better compare to the 6 . upper mesh is WAY less breathable and feels cheap . The velcro is ridiculous and damages the laces , also the stitches on the tongue is really weak . Better unstitch it . Final point :it definitely misses a lace hole . I'm going to send them back and purchase as much 6 available .
@@HobbesJnr if you can try them on before buying would highly suggest just in case, but yeah, compared to prior Metcons these have much more “bounce” to their forefoot 💪
From a plyo/reactivity standpoint, very similar. The 7 feels a bit better from a lifting-focused context though. Both are solid, just two pretty different fit/feel when training!
Different. React turbo is like a urban fixie bike and Metcon 7 is like freestyle BMX bike in terms of attributes. 7 is not quite as sexy as the turbo but more built for fun (or punishment however you see fitness). If you want to compare the two because you’re trying to decide on which one to get I would go for the 7 and wait for a discounted pair of turbos. The tech in the heel is pretty remarkable in being stable under load and forgiving while running/landing.

Thank you! I can try to add it to the queue for you!
Great video!!
which is better to bodybuilding... ROW, SQUAT...?
i don´t do crossfit**
the 7 is taller than the 6 with the removable platform?
Both will be fine, but if you want the ability to add a bit of a heel wedge, then go 6. That way you can train with a 4mm drop or raise the heel to 12mm if you want more of a drop for squats/lower body training!
Either way, I think you’ll be safe, but the 6 can give you more range in regard to different ankle environments!
And thank you 💪
Hi Jake
Thank you for the detailed review
I was wondering if metcon 7 is worth the upgrade from nano8
I have the nano 8 for some years now and overall they are very comfortable and solid shoes
What do you think ?
Eh, if the Nano 8 is still working well, then I'd stick with them for now! Orrrrr if you can find a new pair somewhere, I'd stay the course - the 8 was a solid model and they work well.
The Metcon 7 will also work, but the toe box will feel snugger and I'm not impressed with this model's [the 7's] outsole durability long-term.
Hope that helps provide some direction!
@@thatfitfriend I tottaly see your point !
Thank you for your reply!
Thank you Mr Jake ! Should we buy the shoes true to Size ? or Half Size larger ?
Imo, true to size. If you wear Nike now, go your normal size!
Interesting on the built in heel to toe drop
Right? Seems like all the major cross-training shoes bumped up their heel-to-toe drops. These have the same as the Nano X1, but with a bit more of a lifting-focused approach!
What shoes do you recommend that have a lower heel to toe drop? I really enjoy my metcon 4s I and I’m looking to upgrade soon
Hey! Nice video, what are the numbers on the upper part means?
Thank you - they’re used to highlight certain features on the go live colorway!
Hey, so I mainly wear Air Force 1s and trailblazers, and Adidas nmd. Would I be any comfortable in these?
@@Mel-md6cb Hell yeah, Amazing - I'm so glad it was on the money for you! I'm building out that comparison soon! :)
Hey Jake, do you think that the Nike Metcon 7 FlyEase and the Nike Air Zoom Pulse shoes are good for general strength training? I don't do either Crossfit or powerlifting, just generic weight training including the deadlift, the squat and the bench press.
Metcon 7 Flyease is for sure. Pulse, too, if you're keeping things a bit lighter!
I think you're fine with these models!
The 8's are out next week. The 7's only just came out last year?
The 4s fit so dang well…like a sock! Love them for athletic-focused work.
@@thatfitfriend Do you know any online sites that have good deals on the metcon 4’s? Thank you for responding!!!
@@sergioortiz1839 none in particular that are regularly stocked (they’re my fave metcon, too!), sometimes you’ll find them randomly at smaller on retailers and in person outlets, but those occasions are getting less and less as time passes.
And of course! 💪
Great video, how do they compare in weight to the Metcon 6?
@@seanmcaughey2930 of course! I appreciate the feedback, and thank you 💪
Can you advise metcon 7 vs metcon 3
I s add m looking for a gym/lifting and walking/running shoe
I’d go 7 for your context, but I do like the 3/4 if you can find them!
do you recomended for atg squat ? because weightlifting shoes very expensive in my country
What do you think about these compared to No Bulls? I’m debating between the two.
Both good, but for slightly different reasons! I’ve actually written a detailed comparison of these models if you want to check that out below.

Check that review out and Hit me with any specific or further questions you have about these two 💪
I have two friends using the Metcon 7 and both of them experience front of the sole coming off after sled pushes indoor, running or jumping. Clearly a designer flaw that need to be corrected for the next model.
100%! I made a note of that in my written review and have the outsole on my right model lipping in the same spot due to the exposed midsole. When will companies learn
Hi guys...may i know, what is the difference between metcon 7 & metcon 7X? tqvm guys
Would you say the Metcon 6 or 7 is best for a woman who is looking for a general heavy lifting shoe? One that keeps your foot flat during the lift.
I’d say go Metcon 6. Plus, you can probably find a pair on sale and the 7 isn’t going anywhere sometime soon, so it’s win-win!
Variable heel drop was a feature for me...
Feel that - the positive though, Time to invest in some 6s on sale 💪
I may have missed it, but what are the numbers on your shoes? An upgrade?
Nah, when Nike rolled out this colorway they used those numbers to indicate what has changed in this model. I think they’re silly, lol
I’m a size 9 normally but I have quite wide feet? are these quite wise or is it better to buy in men’s size
I have the Romaleo 3s and the Metcon 6s. I've been using the Metcons with the heel insert. Would I be better squatting with the Romaleos? Great review!
IMO, I wouldn’t overthink it and experiment with both and opt for whichever you like best! You’ll likely find that you prefer one over the other based on how much elevation works best for your squat mechanics 💪
Thank you!!
@@thatfitfriend Thanks for your response. I'll definitely go back to the Romaleos tomorrow and compare.
@@matthendrickson8997 Welcome! Dope, keep me posted on what you think!
Have you tried putting your old hyper lifts in them just curious.
I haven’t trained in them with Hyperlifts, but they fit in the heel fairly well if you wanted to use old ones!
They do look very nice but just not worth the upgrade for me, the 6s are perfect for gym :)
Love it! Keep em’ going 💪💪
What’s traction and stability for sprints on grass and stairs on concrete? Sizing compared to Goruck and No Bull trainers (I got both of those)?
Grass is okay - not amazing, but not terrible!
Concrete is solid. The forefoot grooves grip concrete surfaces really well.
Sizing is a bit more narrow throw the mid-foot and forefoot, but true in length 💪
Hi Jake, what do you think of the Metcons for someone with a flat foot?
Does it provide the arch support during training?
The 7s provide more arch support compared to prior models, but may not feel the best for a wider foot since their last runs fairly slim. Would you be able to try them on at all before grabbing a pair?
@@thatfitfriend Yes, definitely!
Will try them on before I make a selection.
Thank you so much Jake!
Lots of love from India 🇮🇳

Hey Jake, which shoes would you recommend for a person with wider feet?
@@dannyluelee Check out the Adidas Powerlift models, they're decently wide in the toe box and have a price point
Question, would you recommend these for calisthenics? (I.E pistol squats for stability or single leg dead lifts and such)
Yeah, they should be fine for those tasks!
@@thatfitfriend is there another shoe that comes to mind or would you put the metcon 7s at the top of the list?
Most cross trainers will be solid for you! The only reason I’d say “eh” to the Metcon 7 is because you could probably find a solid deal on a Metcon 6 or Nano X if you’re interested in this style of shoe 💪💪
@@thatfitfriend would you consider the mc trainer also or not as much so as the other two mentioned above?
@@CarlosSantos-yx1mw also a solid budget friendly option for calisthenics!
At the Moment, i am using the metcon 6 for training but i Need a more stable shoe due to that i have pes valgus in both my feet. Which should you recommend? The 6 , 7 or Go the a nobull of Reebok?
6 will be better than most of those options, IMO. Are you doing any food strength work atm and/or use inserts at all?
Can you compare with Nike Metcon 7 FlyEase. Thank you.
I can add them to my queue 💪
How do these fit? I’m either a 7 or 7.5 in nikes, I’ve heard the metcon free 3s and 4s fit smaller. Is that true too?
Nike Free Metcon 3/4 run smaller due to their toe box + upper.
Metcon 7s fit fairly true! You should be safe going true to size.
would this shoe be good for calf raises because me being stupid and wearing my ultraboost to the gym and doing calf raises was not it
They'd be fine, IMO.
Is it good for wide feet ? Sorry I know you mentioned that but my English is not good
Not so much! Metcons fit more slim!
Do let me know any recommendations that you might have?
This helps:)
Thanks a mil.
Hii which do you think are better metcon free 4 or metcon 7?👀 i do hiit, strength training and light weight lifting max 10 pounds😅
Nike Free Metcon 4!
@@thatfitfriend thank you!! x
so the heel drop is almost twice as high. it just means you’re moving in a less range of motion. after awhile, you’ll have less mobility by not moving in a full range of motion while training.
Am looking for overall training shoes which includes, running, weights, HIIT. Am totally confused among metcon 7, superrep 2, Project rock3 🙁.Would you please suggest me one?
These are alllll fairly different! My thoughts below -
Metcon 7 - Better model for lifting and more CrossFit style workouts.
@@thatfitfriend thanks man!😊

Worth a shot or a pair of barefoot shoes if you like having a zero drop for squats and don't want to opt for socks! Can shout some recs if you need them!
@@thatfitfriend for me squatting on socks I can do it in the gym but my socks get ripped after doing that couple of times then I can buy new socks every 3 weeks lol I wish I would have size 45 or something for shoes but iam having 49.5 and most shoes don't have that size... Iam just gonna jude my Nike Jordan 1 's I think I've also some merrel vapor gloves for walking outside just for foothealth but squatting in them no thanks have tried that didn't like that at all
Preference Converse or met con for squat and deadlift ? For solid surface ?
Depends on what you want, honestly! Both will work just fine for most lifters.
When it comes to preference, Converse is a zero drop shoe so the foot will be sitting flat in the shoe, where as the Nike Metcon has a 4mm heel-to-toe drop so there will be a little heel elevation.
What do you currently use and do you like them?
Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it, I’m currently using converse all star I do like them just looking around for something similar with a wider toe box, trying to avoid bunions.
How did you order them? They haven’t dropped on Nike yet…?
Great question! With my review work, I'm in close contact with the Nike PR/product folks for new drops/releases. I believe the 7s are available through other retailer sites in the US like EastBay and a couple of others, but don't quote me because they may be sold out!
The Nike Metcon 7 should be dropping on August 7th if I'm not mistaken for the US on Nike. The go-live date has been shifting for the last month, which is def frustrating to say the least to keep track of.
How can I do a heel lock without the extra hole?
Has ir happened to anyone that metcon 7 have a squeaky sound when walking?
It should go away, but that's not often an issue with this model! If anything, I experience a clicky sound due to the heel and not so much a squeak.
What’s the name of the song you use?
What shoe do you recommend for someone who opts for rower version of running wods?
Honestly, you could get away with a lot of different models! What do you wear now and what type of foot do you generally like?

Yeah, looks like both companies decided to up the drop in the latest!
@@thatfitfriend if both did the same thing there must be a good reason. Does that much heel to toe drop feel different?
@That One Texan Yes and no. There are mechanical changes that happen up the kinetic chain as we elevate the heel and work on different stack heights. In regard to the Metcon 6's feel versus the Metcon 7's, it does a feel tad different, but I think that's more of a result of the reworked midsole in the 7. I think if it had a similar outsole/midsole to the 6 and upped the drop by 3mm, then it wouldn't be as noticeable.

Different. React turbo is like a urban fixie bike and Metcon 7 is like freestyle BMX bike in terms of attributes. 7 is not quite as sexy as the turbo but more built for fun (or punishment however you see fitness).
