    I came into the Word of Faith movement as a young Christian and really didn’t know any better. My eyes were opened to the false teachings about a year ago and I grieve for the burdens I have seen on so many people who ultimately blame themselves for not receiving. It truly leaves a burden no one was intended to carry. In all my years at this church we have had no miraculous healings - people still die of various ailments, and the only people increasing in wealth are the lead pastors.

    I was born with a very aggressive auto immune disease. God has never healed me, but has sustained me. But yes, I get berated frequently by prosperity Christians (for lack of a better term) that insist somehow I’m lacking in faith or steeped in sin or something because I still suffer from this debilitating disease 44 years later. I never really swallowed the prosperity gospel for that reason. I suppose if I did how that could have easily pushed me away from God. Instead, I’ve learned so much about His grace, which brings supernatural joy through suffering.

I don’t believe the prosperity gospel, but sometimes I wonder if we maximize (even in our fallen state) our full potential as created in the image of God. For the first question, I always think of Deuteronomy 1:39 "And the little ones that you said would be taken captive, your children who do not yet know good from bad-they will enter the land. I will give it to them and they will take possession of it." This, for me, has always is an indication that children don't yet know right from wrong, good from bad and cannot give an account for their actions... At what age this would end, we obviously cannot say.

      @Robyn Patton,
      Glad to see this comment. So many have been deceived by the name and claim it movement. This is why it is of the utmost importance to allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. Case in point, the apostle Peter tells us how “by his stripes/wounds we have been healed” is to be understood.
      1 Peter 2:24 NASB
      [24] and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
      Some try to point to Matthew 8:15-17 and apply Isaiah 53:5 to it for physical healing but if we look closely, Matthew is not quoting Isaiah 53:5, he is quoting Isaiah 53:4. This too is not referring to sickness and disease but sin. How do I know this? First we have to understand what “Bible” did Jesus and apostles quote from? Answer, the Greek Septuagint (LXX). The LXX translates the Hebrew into the Greek word ἁμαρτία (hamartia) which the the word used through out the New Testament for sin. The translators of the Septuagint (Ancient Hebrew Scholars/Scribes) knew this and translated the Hebrew accurately.
      Isaiah 53:4 LXX
      He bears our sins, and is pained for us: yet we accounted him to be in trouble, and in suffering, and in affliction.
      If you don’t know what the Greek Septuagint is, it’s very important to know it’s history. Whenever you see the Old Testament quoted by the New Testament writers, 90% of the time they are quoting from the Greek Septuagint (LXX). They considered it to be the written word of God, not the Hebrew. If you want to look in church history there was a lot of debate considering the Greek Translation and what many called the corrupted Hebrew Text.

    Like the prayer question. My worship professor would let us know when in in comes to prayer with the points brother Allen said & how & to keep in mind if it’s what God has for us. Especially to be careful if we’re praying for something that goes against God and what He has for us. I know that is a reminder for me to keep in mind. I remember praying for my Uncle who was in bad health for many nights years ago but although he wasn’t physically healed and went with the Lord it was definitely a struggle in my faith. We don’t know why many things happen only God does but I’m glad God really brought me peace a week after his passing that I shouldn’t worry & my uncle is in His hands. God way of doing things is not how we humans see it or can fully understand because He is God and we are not.
    Really like the questions we have here. I was definitely curious about a good amount of these.

      As a definition, that is very poor. And cheap. Communism fits that definition. The term 'prosperity gospel' is your term, not that of those who teach prosperity. So you need to definite it. I'm not aware of any prosperity teacher who would claim the gospel is about finance, so I think your term is a misleading straw man. You could point out that few prosperity preachers encourage giving to things unconnected to them. Yes, there are prosperity teachers whose focus is mammon rather than God. They have left their first love, and are leading others into the same grevious sin. But wealth is not ungodly or God wouldn't have used it to bless Abraham, Solomon or Job. But the true riches are far more valuable than the earthly. If the anti prosperity camp could manifest corresponding zeal for the true riches, the prosperity camp might realise they're majoring on minors. Let's live in hope.

    Good to hear clear exposition of the bible on youtube. I would just add about the question on asking according to God's will the application of it our day and time is clearly articulated in 1 John 5 : 14,15 - "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him." This is not some whimsical idea of a genie in a bottle but asking from the position of being God's stewards in this world. God bless brother Parr, sis Childers.

    WRONG ANSWER FOR SALVATION:
    because i went to church, got baptized, tried really hard to stop sinning, prayed, read my bible, gave to the poor, looked and acted like a Christian, performed spiritual things in jesus name, preached, casted out demons, did many wonderful works etc. etc. etc....
    BIBLICAL ANSWER FOR SALVATION:
    Because I realized that I was a sinner before God and that i need a savior!
    I am imperfect and there is nothing I can do to earn my way to heaven and so my only hope to be saved is to put all of my faith and trust in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ on my behalf.
    BIBLICAL ANSWER FOR SERVICE:
    Whatever works I may do, whatever spiritual maturity I may reach, whatever sins I may get victory over, whatever fruit i may bear, whatever service i may serve unto the Lord, and how much i may love others cannot save my soul!!
    These things should come from the desire of the Holy Spirit and God's grace working in you, on you, and through you, as you yield to Him in faith. No matter how little or how much one produces in these areas it cannot save them!! These things should be cultivated in the life of a born again believer because they are desired by God, profitable eternally for the believer, and profitable physically for others here and now.

    • @IAmisMaster

      I might agree with the thrust. One is saved apart from any good works. But a lack of good works, and more importantly, a lack of repentance and continuance of sin, shows that person has not had saving faith. James, Hebrews, 1 Corinthians all clearly teach those who continue sinning without repentance will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We can rightly question the salvation of someone like Ravi Zacharias based on external and defiant sins for which we have no evidence of repentance.

    • @BrotherDave80
      @BrotherDave80 3 роки тому +3

      @@IAmisMaster disagree totally and you may wanna keep seeking the word rightly divided.
      Christ set the bar for holiness at a level all Christians are called to aspire to grow towards, but none can ever fully live up to, because of our sin nature we will forever wrestle agaisnt our flesh until our time here has expired. Just as the law of Moses was meant, in part to demonstrate to Israel how impossible it was for mortal man to obtain the moral perfection of God, the standards of Christ also remind us of how shallow our best efforts at goodness really are.Thankfully, God has always provided a way for us to be forgiven for our shortcomings.
      Christ was a sinless, blameless substitute for our sins. The Bible clearly tells us what Christ’s moral expectations are for us. If we lost our salvation every time we fell short of those ideals, then none of us would be saved for more than a few days at a time. If that were true, what purpose was there in His death?
      The Apostle John tells us “Beloved, now we are children of God and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). That is speaking of final perfection that is not “now" but is future.
      This passage in James is written to Christians to encourage them to do good works which will make their faith mature and profitable to them and to others. There is no contradiction between James and Paul. When Paul speaks of justification through faith alone, he is speaking of judicial righteousness before God. When James speaks of justification by a faith that works, he is speaking of a practical righteousness displayed before other people. In Romans 3-5, Paul is discussing how to obtain a new life in Christ. In James, James is discussing how to make that new life profitable.
      The burden of sin was bore upon the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who places the burden of sin upon a sinner to be saved is propagating a false gospel of self-righteousness. Jesus paid it all... and He died in our place taking the punishment we all deserve...
      Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through repentance and faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved of themselves, He will only save those who know they need a savior and are trusting Him to be saved. The only requirement to be saved is to admit that you are a guilty sinner in God's sight (Romans 3:19-26) and to turn to Jesus Christ in faith trusting in His death burrial and Ressurection (Romans 10:9-13). You must come as an ungodly sinner to be saved. No one has ever been saved except the UNGODLY (Romans 4:5-8). God doesn't save the self-righteous, who are going about to establish their own righteousness (Matthew 7:21-23). We can only be saved by God's righteousness, which is through faith in Christ. Philippians 3:9 says, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
      Repentance is turning to the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved from one's sins (Acts 3:19). Salvation is receiving NOT giving (Romans 4:5). Eternal life is the free gift of God (Romans 5:15;6:23), paid for by Jesus' precious literal blood (1st Peter 1:18,19). To be saved we simply need to come as a guilty sinner to Jesus Christ to have our sins washed away by His redeeming blood (1st John 1:7). Salvation is turning to Jesus to be forgiven of one's sins NOT turning from one's sins in order to be forgiven by Jesus.
      The Holy Spirit and the grace of God will begin to work on the born-again believer to guide them and grow them and each one of us as individuals will all reach different places of spiritual maturity before we die. There is a judgement seat of Christ for our life and service unto God but this is not a judgment for heaven or hell as even the most spiritually immature believers will still be saved as by fire according to the word of God

      If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. - Hebrews 10:26-31 (NIV)

    I want to clarify something regarding laws such as divorce and slavery as discussed in the Bible. Divorce wasn't simply allowed because puerile would want to get divorced, in my opinion. I would say that as fallible humans, we can very easily get ourselves into bad situations that God doesn't intend for us to be in that may not only allow for divorce but may require it. When a person gets married, they certainly don't do so expecting to get beaten every day, but the reality is that such circumstances happen. That abuse of a spouse is way outside of what God desires for us, so why would God wants us to stay on that situation? So my opinion is that divorce was allowed primarily to allow for us to get out of situations that are bad for us. Of course, what's bad for us somewhat depends on the culture and time we are born into. The needs of a spouse now are way different inn many respects from those during the time of Moses.
    Slavery is similar. Now, chattel slavery, like what we had in America, has always been wrong according to the Bible. Indentured servitude type slavery was different. Indentured servants had all kinds of rights. Being an indentured servant allowed you to subsist when you fell on hard times. It was a form of charity in that it allowed for a person to have a roof of some sort over their head, and meals. It was, for the most part, a way to earth a living when you couldn't afford to pay a debt or make ends meet. It was a contract between two parties, both of which had to hold up their end of the deal. Now, it was useful then, but basically unnecessary now, which is why we don't do that sort of thing. And look at Joseph, he was a slave and was treated well. Being a slave didn't land him in jail, that was false accusations. But, as a slave falsely accused of trying to reduce his master's wife, he was still able to be placed in authority over everyone in Egypt save for Pharoh, which, if we're honest, isn't a possibility with the form of slavery we're familiar with.

    One of the major teachings of the church that I have a problem with is the Friday crucifiction, because Friday at sundown is the start of Saturday making three days in the tomb impossible.Just because they teach it wrong GOD left clues so that we could find the truth. Numbers 28-16-19 shows that the day after the Passover would be the first day of the seven days of unleavened bread -a high holy day-a day of celebration and great joy!! That day also had a sacrifice by fire two young bullocks-a ram-and seven lambs of the first year. So now you will have to search the scriptures for the right day for the crucifiction

I wonder IF it will ever be possible to share the GOSPEL ( 1cornth 15 v 1, 2, 3, 4 ) and just be thankful for what HE. has done , and together celebrate our vindication, , our release from accusation, our free pass from earned separation from GOD , OUR RESTORATION, REDEMPTION, AND RESTORED FELLOWSHIP !!! @17:34- You guys are the first ppl I've heard talk about that part of the Bible about "Whatever you ask, in My Name, will be done." in the manner in which you have. I've heard a lot of ppl bounce around several lines of the Bible with a similar thought process... some variations, of course. Usually a little less "Aladdin & The Genie" meets "Groundhog Day" or whatever. What is a little funny to me about finding this video AND listening to it at this moment, well, you just couldn't possible see how completely sweet this moment REALLY, really is. It is a long story that I'm sure no one cares about so I'm not going to tell it... but part of it is that this very topic and the many different pieces ppl use (if I remember correctly it came down to 3 scriptures?)
    A moment long, long ago in where me and some friends started debating this... turned into more ppl coming by the house because they heard about it... either they called and I said I'd call back later so they came over when I told them why... some neighbors overheard so they stopped in....these ppl called ppl.... it ended up being 20 ppl or so moved out into the parking lot and collected passerbys and we even took notes... don't ask me how but it became organized. Than years later I ended up in a 3 way debate with one "atheist lesbian" who I actually think wanted to be Christian but was in the wrong church... idk. and 1 DEVOUT catholic lady who knew her stuff, let me tell you! I still disagreed with some things. Well, I kept all these notes all these years. I've been dating this guy the past several years who lived half way around the country from me but because flying back and forth every few months is expensive he moved in a year+ ago... his mom is a devout catholic and he was abused by the Church so has to have it out with God so we've been getting to that... this is part of that argument as ppl abuse it as they do so many parts of the Bible. Separating and understanding. I found the best preacher who led us to the best study guide material I've ever seen in my life... so much so that someone offered to buy these notes off me. lol Anyway, I had been looking for them to share with the bf so I can get him to move out of his thing so he can take lead of this family before my daughter is grown. Anyway, the contents of 2 storage units and my house are all being gone thru and surely I'll find those things here soon... you might find interesting what all ppl had to say about that part of the bible. All things are permissible but not all things are advisable... and then the ask and ye shall receive... and the part about faith being able to move mountains.. some of these are repeated in three books back to back.. anyway... I can't remember it accurately enough to attempt to put it together but there was a beautiful "AHA!" moment had by myself and that smaller circle of ppl who I've remained friends with since that first debate that ended up bringing ppl en masse to talk about..lol Man, that was wild. Anyway, it still took years before someone said something that made it all click. It isn't something easy. But it isn't something impossible either.. .as soon as I find those notes I'd like to come back and hope you see this that maybe there's another way I can contact you and just upload pictures of the work I've gathered. We kept track of the sources of everything, too. Not just ppl's thoughts on the matter. Things like translations, and history, and noted sources... we even got the rare books dept staff involved at a University where I lived.. .there sports broadcaster was my landlord and I have a bible that's several hundred years old and not in English they took a look at for me and so that brought some very interesting things to the table as well. It's been a ton of fun. But you guys are the first ppl online I've heard even mention it. Sorry, I got excited.

In the New Covenant, we have the Hoky Spirit to lead us into all truth and to develop His fruit in us. When we choose to walk by the Spirit instead of by the flesh, we will not sin but instead bear His fruit.
      In other words, we don’t need a list of rules. We need to listen to the Spirit inside us to lead us, and voila. He does t lead us into sin.

You break it when you don’t put your trust in the finished worked of Jesus on the cross and keep trying to work for your salvation. We can rest in him now. The Holy Spirit is our seal and now we are God’s holy people. These are all the true meanings of the Sabbath. The Sabbath in the OT is the shadow of the substance. I'm a new believer. This was brought up in the question of can Christians live in sin. I've been with the same man for 4 years now, and we've lived together for 3. I only just made my way to Christianity in the recent months. We always said that we planned on spending our lives together. That hasn't changed. I feel guilty now knowing these things, but does that mean that I should be moving out until we get married? I don't have anywhere else to go. He is the provider in the relationship at this point in time and we're in the middle of a pandemic, so there's no way of knowing when it will be possible for us to get married. It a has been discussed, but before I came to Christ, we already kind of considered ourselves to be married even though we didn't do it legally or officially. I would just like to know what your stance is on this situation. Thank you.

    • @kurglekreutzer6344
      @kurglekreutzer6344 3 роки тому +2

      In the Bible the marriage is not defined by a governmental piece of paper or some ceremony, it is defined by, "flesh joining flesh". (that really is the definition of marriage in the Bible) ! So according to the Bible you are married already (if you have had sex with your man) and you shouldn't leave your husband. In your case for example the apostle Paul said,
      1 Cor 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
      I gathered from what you wrote, that your husband is not a Christian?
      So what should you do, when people start to say that you are not married and thus you shouldn't live together, because they say it is living in sin? You can ask them to show you from the Bible where they can find this thing, namely that in order to be married and to live together, one needs to have their and the government's approval and otherwise it is not a marriage and it is to live in sin? I can tell you that they can't do it, because SUCH THINGS ARE NOT IN THE BIBLE!
      Even Jesus Christ acknowledged publicly that a marriage had nothing to do with governmental ceremonies etc. in John chapter 4.
      Joh 4:16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
      Joh 4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
      Joh 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
      Joh 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
      How could this woman at that time have had FIVE husbands and as many divorces? Did she pick a guy, go to their "churches" to ask for a "pastor" to marry them and then some weeks later, she went to their "judges" and filed for divorce and this FIVE times? Of course not! What Jesus said to her was, that you had five men that you had sex with, thus you were married to them (just like marriage in the Bible is flesh joining flesh, so also is divorce and it happens when a married flesh joins another partner, basically cheating or sleeping around etc.) and you did this five times and this sixth guy you have now, you have had not had sex with him and thus he is not yet your husband! The woman, unlike the public, knew all these details and she perceived that only a prophet could know such things of her life! (Of course Jesus was more than just a prophet and she would come to understand this too)
      So here we see that Jesus Christ Himself calls all those men in her life her husbands, meaning Jesus agreed, that she was married to them without any marriage licenses and ceremonies, AND WHY, well, just based on, flesh joining flesh!
      So in closing, there is nothing in the Bible, that would say that you should feel like you are living in sin, when you are living with your husband. (your husband that you are married to according to the Bible definition of the word marriage, which in your case is in effect) The world and many churches and pastors may not think so, but they are not the Lord Jesus Christ, who according to the Bible clearly thinks so!

This is a question that maybe is debated among Christians and I believe that there are real Christians on both sides of this issue just as there are real Christians say some who believe the rapture before the tribulation and some who don't and many other issues. But sometimes we need to put some of these to aside and concentrate on winning as many people as we can to Christ. Not that these things are not important however if we spent all of our time debating these various points of theology, think how many people might be dying without Christ while we're doing that. You can pray for healing, but, if God doesn't heal you, perhaps it is part of the cross you carry as we will have trials and tribulations. We have assurance that we will be healed of the illness in heaven not necessarily in this life. Paul prayed three times for God to remove the thorn in his side. Jesus did not remove the thorn, having that thorn in his side was perhaps part of the cross he had to carry. We will all have our own crosses to bear. A true Christian can bear these things without complaint maintaining FAITH that God will pull them through it.

    The devotees to this false doctrine are almost rabid in the movement, but I just recently brought this up again publicly, you can ask many of them to open up their Bibles to see if these doctrines are in line with sound Bible doctrine, most won't. But it's not about most , it's about reaching those ready to hear

    Asking for something in Jesus name and expecting Him to give them what they asked for is very shallow. It must align with the Word of God. Jesus said that we will have trials and tribulation. The prosperity gospel leaves out the most important part of the Word. Our lives and deaths were determined by God before we were created. Benny's Hinn repented but continued to do exactly what he did before he repented. So much has come out regarding Ravi Zacharias. It seems (to me) that the people who follow his teachings are more like a cult. God forgive me if I am wrong.

    I am by no means a prosperity nor word of faith follower but....What about this one..." For assuredly, I say to you, WHOEVER says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." This one is tough for our human minds also.. but I believe .what it says and admit my faith is not there. James: 4:3 "You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures." Without faith it is impossible to please God.( again, I am not a word of faith follower.. but to many people demean the power of faith ).. The POWER OF FAITH..but see the faith is in God not the individual) I have seen the Lord heal 100's of people.. I stay in awe of him.. Jesus didn't say to the apostles when they could not cast the demon out of the boy .. hope i dont hurt your feelings or make you lose faith.. No he told them straight up ..you did not have enough faith. Here is another tough one where Jesus called their lack of faith out.. Matthew 8:26 "But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm." WOW.. You see our human minds just cant understand the things of the spirit and the ways of the Almighty God!!!

      The Bible makes it clear that they do.. when he called the child over to him and said “the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to these children” and in Old Testament he called children His Children in several verses. And David wasn’t hoping he knew his child was in heaven. I don’t appreciate how this pastor Allen didn’t carefully read scripture and understand that we can be certain scripture teaches babies and children all go to heaven. Very damaging to those who have lost children

    I was told that if I had just had more faith that my severely disabled daughter would have been healed.
    But, even though she has been in a wheelchair since she was 16.5 months old and has never spoken a word, she saved a young man from committing suicide.
    She was supposed to be dead by the time she was 2 years old.
    The miracle is, she will be 40 years old on November 11, 2021.
    Yes she has suffered through the years of over 200 seizures a day. But now she rarely has one.
    I believe that God puts very special people here on earth to teach others.
    My daughter, just by being herself, showed that young man that his life wasn't so bad. His actual words to me at the time.
    No one knows the thoughts and plans of God Almighty.
    I personally believe that because babies and people like my daughter have never committed any carnal sin that they do go Home to the Lord.
    The mysteries of God.
    What real good would it do us in our spiritual walk with God if we knew EVERYTHING?
    Free will would be useless.
    Just my thoughts.
    I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.

    To help answer the 1st question about do babies who die go to heaven? Read Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; The rest of this passage relates to Jeremiah specifically. Jeremiah was saved before he was created. So, perhaps, others are also saved before they are created by God's will and their purpose.

    I use the fact that God is "just" as a way to come to an answer. I He is really "just" then I can't see Him sending a baby, that does not have to ability to get saved, to Hell. Also I do not think a person can lose their salvation. God went through so much and worked so hard to bring each and every one of us to Him. So I tend to believe God would take you out before you did something that could lose it. John 10:28-29

      @@charliedontsurf334 okay so in hebrews 6:4-6 what Paul is talking about is people that have heard the Good News and have experienced some of the benefits of Christianity, but then left or returned to their own beliefs. He is not saying that salvation can be lost. But this verse refers to those who leave even after hearing God’s truth, they get so close to salvation and then turn away before actually being saved. Even Jesus taught that some people will turn away after hearing the Good News in Matthew 13:33-9 and Matthew 18-23. Then in verse 6, Paul refers to the hardness for the heart that causes sinners not to repent. The impossibility of restoration lies within the heart of the person who turned away, not with God. do you understand this now? hopefully this makes sense🤍

    • @sarahdorianee
      @sarahdorianee 3 роки тому +1

      @@charliedontsurf334 whereas matthew 18:21-35 explains through that parable that because God has forgiven all of our sins, we must not withhold forgiveness from others. As believers we must realise how Jesus completely has forgiven us through his sacrifice (romans 5:8). this should produce a grateful flood towards other people. In the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, the first servant's debt was forgiven, and he was not required to repay until his unforgiving nature was discovered. In contrast, our sin debt was paid in full by Christ and is the only basis for God's forgiveness. We cannot repay our debt to God or earn our salvation. It is a gift of grace (ephesians 2:8-9) Therefore, in the Parable of the Unforgiving servant, Jesus is teaching His disciples, and us by extension, that forgiveness should be in like proportion to the amount forgiven. The first servant had been forgiven all, and he then should have forgiven all. In like manner, a child of God by faith through Christ has had all sins forgiven. Therefore, when someone offends or sins against us we should be willing to forgive him from a heart of gratitude for the grace to which we ourselves are debtors.

    Didn't Satan,use charm,to convince a 3rd of the Angels in heaven,to rebel and didn't Satan want to be worshipped,like God?
    The Jesus i read in my bible is humble,the polar opposite to Charismatic.

      It’s a covenant that God has made in the blood of Jesus with those who believe, trust in, and obey Jesus, persevering by faith in him until the end.
      Jesus clearly teaches this covenant truth of God; “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
      Matthew 6:14-15
      Nothing in all creation can separate ourselves from the love of God...except ourselves. We can choose to disown the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.
      The Apostle Paul wrote the following trustworthy statement:
      “This is a trustworthy saying:
      If we died with Him,
      we will also live with Him;
      if we endure,
      we will also reign with Him;
      if we deny Him,
      He will also deny us;
      if we are faithless,
      He remains faithful,
      for He cannot deny Himself.”
      2 Timothy 2:11-13
      Jesus teaches the requirements to take up ones cross and follow him. He warns us that we can be ashamed of his words and to those he will be ashamed of when he comes in his Father’s glory:
      “Then Jesus called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
      If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” Mark 8:34-38

    ~11:35, when you guys are talking about how we have to accept and start with the premise that God must be just/loving, I think what you have to be saying is this: Even if babies do in fact go to hell, that must be a just and loving thing. And that is the point of why people are asking that question, because as much as we can define God as just/loving and bend whatever happens to fit that premise, this is one conclusion that is emotionally going to be very difficult to accept for most people.
    The two possible answers are:
    1. All babies go to heaven - Like you guys mentioned, there does not seem to be much of a reason to believe this is true from the Bible, it arises out of our need to say, as Allen does, that “God is loving“, therefore it seems the most loving thing for God to do would be for babies not to suffer in hell just for dying before they get a chance to accept Jesus, we don't know this to be true, but we hope it is.
    2. Some/all babies go to hell - I think what we can agree on theologically is that babies cannot possibly attain what we consider generally necessary for salvation (repentance, accepting Jesus), so, whether they were born with original sin or committed some sin post-birth before becoming what we would consider “accountable moral agents“, they were subject to hell with no hope of being saved (especially since God is sovereign and at least allowed that baby to die so young in the first place)
    If we get to accept 2 and just shrug off and say “God is by definition just/loving therefore it is just/loving of him to send babies to hell“, at a certain point we are going to hit a wall where we have to ask ourselves: Can God do anything that would qualify as not just/loving? And if not, do I actually consider that truly just/loving or am I just playing word games? I know I have hit that wall, and have found no satisfying response to this line of thinking. I am convinced that an entity that is defined to be good (and can do any action and have that count as good) cannot possibly be meaningfully good.
