I love that in 1999 Charlie was just a straight 19yo kid but he found normal to play the character of a gay teenager in a tv show. We still have problems today with this stuff like in that Daniel Radcliffe interview where it was asked him how it was to play the character of a gay man and he answered "no one asks to gay actors how it is to play straight characters, why do you have to ask this to me? It's normal!" and Charlie gave this kind of answer like 15 years before, I love him.
Most actors/actresses will do anything to get ahead. And considering that a lot of actresses slept their way up in the beds of guys like Harvey Weinstein, an actor playing a gay guy seems like small fry.
@@SirTibzy or maybe they see the roles as a performative art🙄 and a voice for those marginalized communities who doesn't get the same opportunity as the straight people does..not everything is about sex🙄. Queer As Folk was an amazing show with many sarcastic and political undertones which reflected the Homophobic & Heteronormative society then. It still is though a lot has changed.
Aww this was back when charlie was about 19, that's how I remember him, kinda awkward, shy but such a sweet guy. He told me he was going to America to try n make it... Just look at him now!!!! So pleased for him.
LizzyB possibly could know him, especially if shes from where he is originally from which is Newcastle, because i'm from there to, just because he is famous now doesn't mean that people didn't know him before hand 🙄
I've just watched Green Street and wondered where is was from because of his 'interesting' London accent. Ooh what a shock to see him here, after seeing him on there!
Yeah that's what I meant. He's put on London style accent, didn't sound particularly London, if you know what I mean. So I was curious where he was originally from because it was interfering with the accent he was try to act in Green Street. After watching that and then immediately watching this, as in Hardnut to teenage gay, What a difference! :)
why do y’all care about this man’s accent so damn much? like you don’t feel represented by all the other accents of the thousands of British actors in Hollywood???💀🥴
And no one notices that Littlefinger (the amazing Aidan Gillen), corrects Nathan about the mother comment. Speaking of connections or 1 degree of separation....could someone PLEASE hook Aidan Gillen up in a role with Tommy Flanagan. These two have been like ships passing in the night.

wtf really? if i was an interviewer and was interviewing a gay guy guy who was playing a straight guy that would be the first question

This is how Hunnam's accent should've sounded.

To be fair, Charlie's accent hasn't changed as drastically as some imagine, he never had a Paul Gascoigne scale Geordie dialect.

He sounds a bit Geordie
He talks with an american. Accent now
As an American, I don't like the American accent he has. He sounds sexier with a British accent.
