If you're talking about 4:14 (4:20), Hyakuzawa actually said「可哀想 = kawaisou」which is like "feel bad/sorry for" & not ｢怖い・恐い = kowai =scary/afraid」or ｢可愛い = kawaii = cute」. I was very impressed with her pronunciation of "kawaii" though, since most non-Japanese speakers tend to say "kowaii" for cute for some reason.
