20 gallons is decent, but 29 gallons is considered the new minimum by experienced axolotl keepers. The minimum isn't great. I would recommend 40 gallons or more for one axolotl. :)
Would an 80cm long, 35cm wide and 40cm tall be good enough? It is 24 gallons and is all we can fit. I am not sure if this is too small or not. I do need to measure a lot more properly to be able to get a closer reference. But I think a 24 gallon is all we can fit. I want the Axolotl to be as happy as possible so should I get one or not based on space?

Temperature:60-65F Diet:night crawler,earthworms,carnivore pellets (you can feed fish although not recommend) Decor:driftwood or large rocks (do a acid test first hand boil the driftwood) Water parameters:Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 and nitrate 0-20 and ph 7.6 (a lot of minerals in the water is crucial for their well being)

Is it better to have a long tank or a deep tank? I’m preparing for an axolotl and found a taller 40 gallon tank that I’m considering, but if they spend more time crawling around I feel like a long shallower tank is better?
@@AquariumStoreDepot I found it for $25! I couldn’t believe it! It was super dirty from being outside but it cleaned up nicely and holds water perfectly. I couldn’t pass up a deal like that!

Longer and shallower is better. The more floor space the better
