It was because The British commonwealth was formed after US had gained Independence. The British commonwealth (later changed to The commonwealth) was formed in 1930 by the Statue of Westminster. While US had gained independence in 1776 .
The Commonwealth has such a huge potential all we need to do is reach out and grasp it!
