Great video I sure miss the days of the Gulfstream III with the smoky and loud Spey engines and the very loud lear jet 23 24 25 series with the turbojet engines .
Hi .... One thing I like this videos.. .all of them I just new here is that you give all description of the aircraft and price, passengers etc.. I love that detail is so awesome... thanks for your videos !!!
I’ve never been to Van Nuys airport and I would love to be a Aircraft referral agent for Brokers who only wants the best for there clients and Right now there is a waiting list for two years or more on the Gulfstreams and TBMs and the best single engine Turbo Prop is the PC-12s . Luxury private jet travel is here to stay for awhile while the pilot shortage is still looking for more to getting hired on now and getting a type rating in one of them isn’t cheap but sometimes a company maybe pays for training at flight Safety.

I believe VNY had airline service way back in the day, but its primarily a GA/corporate airport today. I highly recommend the documentary ONE SIX RIGHT on the history of VNY. Also, Burbank's final approach goes right over the top of VNY so they are quite close.

Wow, you can never get enough of the engine roar of the GIV-SP, the Challenger 605, and the G550, that 1987 GIV brought the nose down hard lol. I love the Dassault falcon, one of my favorite aircraft.
I love the sounds too, and I tried to showcase them a bit in this video but turning up the engine sounds a bit more than usual. The pretty much brand new Falcon 900LX was a really gorgeous bird! Glad I got to see that.
Just some beautiful business jets!! The video is outstanding too. Gotta win the lottery and get one of those, I am partial to the Gulfstream V's and Citation X's...LOL.
Looks like your right! I searched the tail number and every thing said it was a Legacy 450. However, after looking up the difference, its definitely a Praetor 500. Great catch!
This was filmed right next it! The shot at 10:08 is the ramp right outside the maintenance facility. I believe there is a private Airbus A319 parked right behind the Global 5000 (along with other Gulfstreams).
Newly following your awesome videos !!! This place is amazing and i cant wait to get back there . Wheres this taken from ? Looks opposite the official " viewing area ?
Yep, he also owns one of the FBOs at the field! I actually learned about Clay Lacy by watching the documentary "One Six Right." Thanks for watching Richard!
I had to come back to enjoy the Gulfstreams Because of what and why they are always top notch of all luxury private travel and one day I’ll be able to get aboard a one way dead head flight out there and volunteer to work on the ramp and get hired on the spot
I used to do the same at Van Nuys Airport in the 1970’s when I lived in Northridge when I was in high school and going to CSUN. I watched In the area by the 94th Aero Squadron. Across the way the California National Guard used to have a C-31 unit with their active airplanes. The airport is one of the busiest small airports in the nation.
Very cool, thanks for sharing that! I grew up 2 hrs east of Van Nuys and I have been looking forward to getting out and shooting there. It was an awesome time! I bet VNY has always been a very busy airport, but i'm sure its a bit more busier than in the 1970's.
Been following you for a few weeks now trying to find my plane and I finally did. I crew N26JE with three other pilots. Glad you finally caught it with its brand new paint job
@@HometownPilot yes it is a new company aircraft recently added to the fleet. I’m sure you’ll see us in and out of there quite often now, as I end up there at least once every rotation
Excellent compilation packed with a great mix of business jet action!
It seemed to be Gulfstream after Gulfstream when I was filming at VNY (which is never a bad thing lol). Thanks for watching HD!
Great video I sure miss the days of the Gulfstream III with the smoky and loud Spey engines and the very loud lear jet 23 24 25 series with the turbojet engines .
Love those older jets, especially the Learjet 23!
Hi .... One thing I like this videos.. .all of them I just new here is that you give all description of the aircraft and price, passengers etc.. I love that detail is so awesome... thanks for your videos !!!
I appreciate that Al! Thanks for watching!
Great video footage. Best on UA-cam. Always anxious for the next one.
Those assorted Gulfstream's are beautiful birds.
Best airport to learn to fly. If you can fly Van Nuys you can fly anywhere

I definitely recommend a trip to VNY... Incredible airport with a rich history. Working out of there would be incredible!

Another stunning footage mate. The Praetor 500 is so beautiful. Loved the Challenger 300 livery.
Thanks Foxxray! The cool part about that Challenger 300 is that was the 3rd one ever built.
Another absolutely stunning spotting video! 🤩✈👍
Appreciate that Matt! Thanks for watching!
Hometown Pilot you should do Plane spotting at Santa Barbara
Its on my list... 👀
Wow 👏another great video. Really relaxing to watch 👍👍
I appreciate that Macc Aviation! Thanks for watching.
I was in N811QS that day haha. I feel like I got jipped in this video 🤣🤣
The sad thing is I had camera issues as you were taking off and the footage was unusable... Was one of the only planes were I had issues too...
@@HometownPilot No worries at all!!!! Maybe next time through!!
Liking the Hometown Pilot plane spotting tour to Van Nuys!! Iconic 16R. Well done.
Thanks for watching! I will definitely being going back for another video.

Did this airport ever have airline servic how far in miles from lax and burbank Airport is it.

Fine job filming and some really nice aircraft.
Why thank you Scott! My first time at VNY and it seemed to be just Gulfstream after Gulfstream. Will definitely be going back soon.

@@HometownPilot Enjoy them while you can, as I predict when the 6X gets its air certificate Dassault will phase out the 900 and the 7X.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful aircraft flying into Van Nuys. All of the Gulfstream aircraft are just so beautiful.
No one makes better aircraft than Gulfstream!
@@HometownPilot I hear you!!! And I like the Boeing aircraft as well. The 747, 777, 767 and I miss the old 727s. I have worked airlines for a while.
That low approach at the end was impressive, almost didn't see the Cessna fly by!
Thanks for watching Kobbe!
Stunning capturing 👌
Thanks Plane Mania! Good to hear from you.
The market prices are still going up on all of these jets and money is no problem for buyers
Just some beautiful business jets!! The video is outstanding too. Gotta win the lottery and get one of those, I am partial to the Gulfstream V's and Citation X's...LOL.
Thanks Nils! The Gulfstream G650 would be my pick if I were to ever win the lottery.
Do you send your raw footage to pilots in the aircraft?
The N409FX at around 9:10 is a Praetor 500 and not a Legacy 450! Awesome footage anyway!
Looks like your right! I searched the tail number and every thing said it was a Legacy 450. However, after looking up the difference, its definitely a Praetor 500. Great catch!
Gulfstream maintenance facility is visible from Woodley Ave. Always an impressive collection of Gulfstreams parked and waiting for service.
This was filmed right next it! The shot at 10:08 is the ramp right outside the maintenance facility. I believe there is a private Airbus A319 parked right behind the Global 5000 (along with other Gulfstreams).

This place is amazing and i cant wait to get back there . Wheres this taken from ? Looks opposite the official " viewing area ?
Thanks for watching Jamie! That is correct, this was right across from the viewing area, right next to the Gulfstream maintenance facility.
Clay Lacy is mentioned in this Video and I am not surprised he is big part of Van Nuys airport history.
Yep, he also owns one of the FBOs at the field! I actually learned about Clay Lacy by watching the documentary "One Six Right." Thanks for watching Richard!
Aren't most of these now owned by private leasoning companies?
Pretty much. It would be extremely rare to find a private owner of these aircraft
Think that last g550 is owned by Wynn Resorts
You appear to be right! Looks like Wynn Resorts also have a G650 in that same paint scheme (N711SW)
Those jet’s are so cool , I see um on occasion take off and land where I live!
Wish I lived that close to Van Nuys to get to see the traffic everyday. Thanks for watching Paul!
AWESOME shots!!!! THANK you for those great shots and infos you add!!!!!

Wow a lot of private jets are showing up here watching this makes me want to get a private jet for myself

wow starting it off with a G650
oooo the silver color on the CL30 is awesome
in sum - another fantastic video Hometown. Really great shots of everything you included. Were you shooting on a ladder? Great stuff!
Had to start the VNY video off with a bang, right?! I was sitting on top of a security booth lol. Really cool location with a great view of 16R.
Another fantastic video!
Appreciate that, and thanks for watching Chandler!
