I follow them quite a while now from Belgium. This band is far my favorite in the acoustic genre, HAEVN = HEAVEN! I look forward to their next concert in December ;-) Their new album is just the beginning for what comes in the future. You must hear their new song too.. 'Great Mother'
I had never heard of Haevn either! Thank you Justin and Paul for introducing me to this piece of music. A nice blend of musical styles with beautiful vocal harmonies and string arrangements.
Afternoon Justin. Dave from London. A wonderful collaboration: the band, guest singer (from Mozambique, I think), the strings and backing singers. Terrific chemistry! Friendship And Love! You asked why they're not better known. World music always seems a bit of a niche market - it takes global stars like Peter Gabriel to bring it to a wider audience, through his collaborations, his Real World record label and his WOMAD music festival. I know Haevn are Dutch, and also for some reason bands and singers from that country don't always get the recognition they deserve - singer Anouk is a case in point. P.S. my song ref Friendship And Love is by another Dutch band, Kayak, that also should have been much better known in other countries.
JP- you have to listen to 'Where the Heart Is'......been on one of my playlists for ages. Beautiful.......and also Promise (released in April this year)
I think the band name should actually be pronounced as "Haven", or at least that's how I do it. HAEVN is a duo consisting of the lead singer (with the brown guitar) and the piano / keyboard player who is also the arranger / producer. They have been around for quite a while and despite them initially having a contract with a major label (Warner) they eventually went their own way and are slowly but surely building their audience. Initially they found them more outside the Netherlands but the past few years have done much more gigs 'at home'. Here is another video shot during their late 2023 tour with guest singer Neomi: ua-cam.com/video/zQDLFmd2AOE/v-deo.html
The intro reminded me of Soupir Eternel by Dhafer Youssef, the most unique and mystical voice I have ever heard. Very good stuff. I live in the Netherlands but I have never heard of them. Beautiful
Lovely - wish i had been there to see it . The crowd responded at the end , in exactly the way their soul compelled them to do. May i suggest ``Yahamba ``remastered ,Playing for Change Band ,Live in Australia ` one of the best live moments on the planet
at times this veered dangerously close to the hidden rocks of the lighthouse family* justin, sufjan , doh!....not one song.... but the whole shebang of Carrie & Lowell, Live ! watch it on yer own if u can't do it here * stay away
Ah... world music. I find the less-than-stellar, non-top-of-the-range examples tend mostly to drift towards a similar sort of sound which, after they've finished playing, I can barely distinguish one track from another in any recollection of what I've just heard. That's not to say there aren't some amazing examples to be found of the genre but this piece fell into that "tending to drift towards the mean" sameyness.
And yet when you listen to an amazing African artist like Mdou Moctar, for example, he's amazing. It's the genre of "world music" that sucks, you're right.
Do you have any plans of returning to The Doors 'Strange Days' album? You did the opening title track aeons ago, but unfortunately nothing since. It's one seriously major album!
Too much of a slow burner for me this. Nearly 3 mins before anything happens, and then it's into 'spoken word'... a pet hate of mine in 98.7% of tunes. Then once the muso's kicked in it was all a bit too samey. And i'm sure it's meant to be poignant, moving, or whatever, but not knowing whats being said/sung.... well, you get my drift. PS, not fussed on this, but I do love Amsterdam :)

WOW. That's incredible. What a find.
Right?! Glad you enjoyed David+
Holland is just a small country, they should be known worldwide, I agree, one of the best pieces of music I heard lately!!!!
The type of stuff I would have a good time watching live and immediately forget after the end of the concert.
Smiles 😁 That was Heavenly!✌&❤
This is absolutely amazing
Glad you enjoyed it!

I too was impressed. I'm going to share them with the wife. She likes things like this.
Hope she enjoys it!
@@JustJP She did. : D
At the near risk of uttering a tautology, I thought that was a pleasant cloud of empty nothing.
I feel like this should move me, but that's not what my ears were telling me!
@@Owlstretchingtime78 always best to trust 'em! It was incredibly bland.
JP I suggest you to watch they performing *the great mother* it’s a quite nice song 👌

It was ok, bit long and doesnt get better. If i could understand the lyrics may make sense but not really a style i listen to.

Day 1 of asking "La Grasa de las Capitales" Album from Seru Giran
Hey, JP, isn't your wife from Colombia? What music or artista do we know from Colombia? Accept recommendations, please, and show to us!
Do you have any plans of returning to The Doors 'Strange Days' album? You did the opening title track aeons ago, but unfortunately nothing since. It's one seriously major album!
It's not bad while your listening to it, but instantly forgotten as soon as it is over.
Du bist ein Mensch, mit dem man sich nicht viel Mühe geben sollte. Ein Mensch zum Vergessen.

Ok in its own unique way, but this kind of thing just doesn't interest me.
