Serra Fina is a mountain range located on the triple border of the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, along the Serra da Mantiqueira.
It is approximately 26 km. Between the entrances of Toca do Lobo (access only with 4x4) and Nativa Serra Fina (Simple car is fine) in Itamonte.
It is considered by many to be one of the most difficult crossings in Brazil. The classic crossing is carried out in 3 Nights and 4 Days.
I made the crossing alone, in July 2023. I started on Thursday at 9:30. And I finished on Sunday at 11:30.
    The overnight stays were:
1st Day - Capim Amarelo Summit - I started at 9:38 and arrived at 2:55 pm. I stopped to have lunch.
2nd Day - Pedra da Mina Summit - I started at 9:20 and arrived at 15:23. I stopped to have lunch.
3rd Day - Summit of Três Estados - I started at 9:33 and arrived at 2:52 pm.
4th Day - I started at 7:30 and finished the crossing around 11:30.
I believe it is the best way to make the most of the beauty of Travessia, in my opinion the coolest thing is to sleep on the Summit!
There are several other plans and places allowed for camping, the important thing is to adapt it in the way you think is best for your style and reality.
I carried 4 liters of water in my backpack and another 500ml in a bottle that I like to carry in my hand. I got water from Rio Claro 1.5 liters on the 2nd day and from Vale do Ruah on the 3rd day another 1 liter. Plan your water rationing well! In total I used 2 liters per day and left 500ml for the descent on the last day. Be smart! I take food that doesn't require a lot of water to prepare, practically that water was just for drinking. To clean the pans and do my personal hygiene I use alcohol, wet wipes and toilet paper. I use the Shit-Tube as a trash can. DON’T LEAVE TRASH! ANYTHING! NO FRUIT PEEL!
The trail in general is not difficult to follow, some parts could still be improved. Signs were missing at the exit of Pedra from the mine at the time. And the final route also needs to be improved further, there is a part that I deviated a little, but I soon realized that I had made a mistake, but just be careful and take a good look at Wikiloc in these parts, in the rest just walk, follow the trail, the signs and the totems. On the summits you get the CLARO3g signal, you just have to search a little, it's enough to send that message! "I am fine". TIM takes it well! I don't know the rest.
There are several technical sections, a lot of climbing, exposure to the sun is great, three states and Altos dos Ivos is very smooth to climb, it is very slippery, as they don't get much sun at this time of year. Very careful! Those with short legs suffer more. In fact, I needed to attach some ropes to these parts.

The weather was great! Clear without wind! Sea of clouds! Incredible sunrises and sunsets. The crossing is simply divine! I hope you have the same luck! Plan well, study the weather. It's good to come with a good window of time.
I think that would be it! Anything, stop screaming! Good adventure!
    USEFUL TIPS:
If you go by car, leave it at the end of the trail and take a shuttle to the beginning!
Do it during the week, avoid holidays and weekends as much as possible.
If you don't have experience, don't do it! Start on another easier and shorter trail. Evolve little by little.
If you don't have confidence, hire a guide! There are several! Just search!
Be responsible! Take care of the nature!
Bring ALL your TRASH back! The smaller your impact on nature the better.

Sim! Eu também acho! Fiz as duas em condições bem parecidas! E Marins x Itaguaré é mais exigente na parte técnica
