But is was -real. In the 70s/80s, there were all kinds of dare devils -- often shown on live TV live -and sometimes.......they didn't go well. Super Dave captures LIVES.
You can still sometimes find good ole fashioned clean comedy every Saturday evenings at a local speedway we perform all of Super Daves stunts even the same cuss words too. Its just ducking the flying auto parts while watching takes a little skill above normal levels.
The setup is usually the same. Mike wearing an awful looking jacket and introducing things, Dave pulling up in a (often ridiculous) vehicle, yelling at Mike from afar, then showtime! After the stunt goes wrong, Mike, Fuji and the camera man go running up, utterly oblivious to Dave's pain. And it's funny every single solitary time. Indeed, it's iconic if you're from this period of time. RIP Dave. Thanks for the memories.
I first saw Bob on Curb Your Enthusiasm years after it first aired, and loved his unique brand. I never knew about Super Dave until he popped up on my UA-cam recommends, then showed up on Norm MacDonald videos. So glad I finally discovered this comic genius. RIP.
Super Dave made a career as a one trick pony, yet I always find myself breaking over with laughter with each different one of these I see. Why? I asked myself. First, he always plays it straight. Second, his personna was always predictable; that magic combination of cluelessness and false humility. Third, Fuji and Mike are always consistent also. Fourth, the subtle under the breath humor at any turn. Sheer comedic genius! Massengale Man of the Year. North American whatever association. Saskatchewan Sealskin bindings. I'm sure I'm missing some "regular" gigs here.
I first learned of Dave from norms show which is completely different from this show, and now that I can look back - this hasn't aged at all. it's fucking hilarious his deadpan delivery, the work up to everything its all so pointless. and my favorite part: the dubbed it voice of him going "oh my lord!" before the truck backs into him lmao small wonder Norm loved him.
No detail is ever paid attention to. Super Dave and Fuji make certain of that. Sealskin bindings are just one example of that. The Polyglymon helmet is a must.
Ronald Reagan once famously said that the scariest words in the English language were: "I'm here from the government, and I'm here to help". I agree those are scary words, but I think what's even scarier is "My life is in Fuji's hands."
what’s scarier is gullible morons buying the SCAM that “thoughtful, unselfish, and magnanimous” corporations would do a better job than government in helping society. it doesn’t seem to be helping the WV coal miners who keep voting REthUG to help their corporate coal bosses while they themselves still keep losing their jobs.
@@darthvirgin7157 Yes, government has done an incredible job "helping" people in Detroit, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Chicago, etc, etc. etc. Corporations don't exist to help people, they exist to make money. One of the ways that they make money is employing people, who then make salaries. Government doesn't exist to help people either, they exist to secure and defend people's rights and civil liberties. Whenever governments step outside of that role to "help" people they create poverty and misery. When people are left alone, they create businesses that create jobs, and they also create charitable organizations that benefit and help the poor. Everytime the Super Dave skit started, I never wanted it to end. I was jist 10 uears old when Super Dave got started. I would laugh as hard as my dad, uncles and cousins. He was one of oir heroes.
This is funny and holds up as well today as it did when it was new. I saw you on 'CiCgC' with Jerry Seinfeld. You complimented him on his comedy being well crafted. This bit is equally as complete and considered and hilarious.
It's been 30 years, but Super Dave was the bomb, we used to love watching him.

I loved watching Super Dave on Bizarre as a young teen late on Saturday night. Bizarre usually showed some boobies which was very much appreciated!!!
Super Dave was the only reason, ok maybe the top ten was good too, to watch Letterman. Letterman sucked.
We all miss the big lug.
Why is it so hard to find good comedy like this anymore? Thank God for UA-cam so we can travel back in time.
Yes, we do. The Biden administration. LOL.

Damn right Viv
Then always calls Mike a Putz at the end as he is asking for an ambulance.
You know what's going to happen and you still crack up every time.
So true. I can't get tired of watching Sper Dave.....
Not enough credit gies to Mike who never cracks and lends an air of authenticity to the madness.
This guy is the Wyle E. Coyote of Stuntdom!!! 🏆 🏅 🎖 🥇
And Fuji is effectively the Road Runner, invariably pulling the rug out from under Super Dave.
Hey! He resembles that remark!!
Super Dave we miss you!
Got to have those Saskatchewan seal skin bindings at all times. LOL! RIP Super Dave
They’re not genuine if they’re not from Saskatchewan.
After backing over Super Dave, Fuji pops his head out of the window looking FORWARD. Hahaha.
🤣 I didn’t realise that. Had to watch again. Hilarious 😆
RIP Bob Einstein :(

So that's where I saw him. Thought he sounded familiar.
This driver who just cut me off has just been awarded this months Massingale Man of the Month. Congratulations!
"My life is in Fuji's hands". LOL !!!!
I love Super Dave's confidence, despite his countless accidents.
He got that from Evel Knievel.
More like “slight miscalculations”😂
I remember watching these when they aired, I laughed then and they are still hilarious today !
I could watch that truck back into him a hundred times... and crack up every time. "Oh my Lord..."
Dave's Unwavering confidents is what keeps me coming back!
America needs Super Dave back!
4:10 "genuine fire-resistant Saskatchewan sealskin bindings" = classic.
+David C our igloos are made with them too!
"The Super One" always has Saskatchewan sealskin handy for all his stunts. Fuji makes sure!
Brian Elia
lol yupppp
David
Indeed!
Massingale man of the month...I almost died on that one!
Super Dave has always been a hero of mine. Been there since the beginning.
These skits were so crazy and completely hysterical.
It's a very whimsical feeling.
I like how Mike always comments on the "Genuine fire-resistant Saskatchewan seal-skin bindings." :P
"WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?" ...everything that can possibly go wrong...of course! LOL
loved it when he called Johnny Carson "Jerry".
Masengil Man Of The Month! Superb!!
I am going to use that one
Poor Mike was a douchebag and a butt face in the same show

He was a one trick pony but he did that trick very well!!! Hes s legend. Rip.

Mike Walden and Fuji's jackets are mixed up. Right away I'm laughing.
"Out here on the famous Super Dave tarmac..." I always laugh at those lines! The tarmac is famous? Ha ha.
Albert was a genius in many areas but his son Bob was a comedy genius!
RIP, Bob Einstein ❤️
Did Super Dave call him butt face? 😂 still making me laugh. God Bless You.
Yeah.. he said.. would you rap it up Butt Face
"Will you wrap it up, butt-face?" LOL

This was real comedy... U knew it was coming yet u had to watch. Sd my hero
Super Dave is the greatest!
Still love watching Super Dave.
I cried when called Mike butt face.
I just love Mike always dead seriously calling him just 'Super'. RIP Super!
Still good comedy in 2018
The funniest stunt ever by Super Dave was the Super Dave drive through fast food restaurant. Check it out.
Awesome!! I used to love that show. Thanks for posting!!!
The Super One. Everytime Mike Walden says that I crack up!
Ok, we all know that the stunt will go wrong but since I don't know how, I end exploding with laughter every time with this guy, love it 😂 !!!
I grew up watching Super Dave loved him
When I hit this part, it'll kick me to 90... lmfao
Damn, it's a good thing Super Dave was tough!
Brilliant! Love the understated deadpan delivery. Genius.
SD will be sadly missed along with the rest of our country.
Where did the country go? Has it been recovered yet?
God bless his soul... now he is Super Dave in Heaven!
Well played, Einstein. Thanks for the nod.
Lol I remember when I first seen this show back in 1987 I was only 13 had to wait once a week to watch it lol
The natural acting is perfect.
Love Super Dave!
You've been voted Massengill Man of the Month. Funny Shit. CLASSIC STUFF.
Super Dave even has his own tarmac!
RIP, Super Dave!
Ahhh 1988, I was four. It looked so real.
Absolutely hilarious. Nothing even close to this funny today. This was before PC idiocy. I’m a true fan. Love Super Dave. R.I.P.
My best friends dad used to watch this show and talked about it in church. We thought we were too cool to watch it back then
Super Dave is a banger here in Canada. He very courageous.
Jeez,,,,,,, I’m getting old. 😂 still love super Dave’s stunts

Genuine Fireproof Saskatchewan Seal Skin Bindings 😉👍🏻 you can depend on them.
Best stunt man ever. A true innovator.
It so freakinggg sad I lost and forgot of super Dave ,,, found him on UA-cam ,, he passed away not to long ago ,, we are here then gone
Me and my friends couldn't wait to get home from school to watch Super Dave.
As soon as Super Dave starts to explain any stunt I hear myself saying...."No, Super Dave, Don't do it!"
Every time I hear Fuji speak, I expect the camera to pan out and pick up Godzilla approaching.
Super: Do you see this ramp here
Mike: Whoo yes I do
Super Dave is still as hilarious now if not more now than when I was a kid.
You knew a disaster was coming, but you didn't know when. LOL
This helped me with my depression......thank you.
Love the burble/crackle of that 454...
The "Kick Ramp"! 😂
Ah, such a classic. Super Dave is smiling from above.
R.I.P. You will be missed !!!!!!
The way Mike closes the visor at the end... ☠️
40 plus years old and still hilarious
Good on you I’m 60 years old and think I’m funny😂
"now, ANYONE can go outside and go up a ramp on normal skis..."😆😆😆
Fuji has been Daves stunt expert for 12 yrs and every single time he fails! Lol.
Loved this man.
Jeez, it's a good thing Super Dave is tough!
I think it's time to find the roller coaster one which is in the top three of Dave's stunts.
I miss the guy, he always made me laugh!
Super Dave is so brilliant
Never gets old
Super Dave is my idol...he's amazing..what a super duper stuntman..
Super “Marty Funkhauser” Dave
Good quality video resolution, also.
Did super Dave actually invent the longboard with this video? That's pretty badass mufflers.

Good one, just how I remember him on Showtime.
His life insurance policy must be in the billions!
Beginning in season 2 Super Dave’s stunts were filmed in Markham Ontario. 🇨🇦
I love you Super Dave.
This is one of my favourites
