Frankfurt is the fifth largest city in Germany. The biggest financial center in continental Europe. One of the 10 alpha cities in the world! Known in Portuguese as Frankfurt am Main, the city, founded in the 1st century, is one of the few in Europe that intensely mixes the old with the modern. That's because its medieval historic center was almost completely destroyed by bombing during World War II. It was rebuilt as it was before, but they also chose to elevate skyscrapers and modern buildings.
I'm not going to lie, Frankfurt has dirt on the streets and some weird spots where we feel unsafe. That's why many people don't like the city. But, visiting the right spots, you can enjoy it, yes!
Because it has one of the busiest airports in Europe, it is common for the cheapest tickets to go there. So, for us, it's worth getting to know it for at least a day, or on a connection at the airport. There is even a subway that leaves the airport and drops directly into the center of Frankfurt, making everything very easy!
We did the city in a day and a half in May 2022 and we are going to show you what we saw there! At the end of the video, we will also show you some tips on cities south of Frankfurt to visit on a 4-day road trip, such as Heidelberg, Strasbourg and the biggest theme park in Europe, Europa Park!
