Fairly certain this movie along with its video game on N64 kick started a whole new generation of James Bond fans.
yeah Goldeneye was my first exposure to the bond universe as a kid and it still remains my favorite out of the whole franchise
You do realize that every Bond movie introduced someone to the series and made fans of the series.
It’s the film that got me into the franchise so yeah you’re absolutely right.
@@rokuthedog I completely disagree. Nightfire is far superior to Goldeneye as you actually feel like James Bond and it has awesome gameplay and multiplayer. Agent Under Fire and Everything or Nothing were also solid though Goldeneye could be considered more fun than them.
Goldeneye remains a favorite of mine.
@@treseancann1261 I sometimes wonder which is more popular, the Goldeneye movie or the N64 game.
@@AndrewChapman I think the game made the movie more popular than it probably deserves. It had some good scenes in it (the opening in particular), but I thought it was boring overall and there was a lot of wasted potential (the car he gave to Felix for one).
one of the best pre title sequence
Golden Eye best bond film of the 90's 😎
The music in this was amazing.
I know, I love the goldeneye score, it's so unique to this movie and really adds alot to it
That "Stuka-noise" the plane makes when diving 😂
Loved Orumov like "everybody hold your fire, I want to watch him seriously try this"
Goldeneye is such a good bond film the way they schemed Sean beans death class
Brosnan at his best in James Bond series!
Ngl I think he was better in TWINE, he had more aggression in the performance, but still the fun charm he possesses here
I mean, it seems like there's some weird spatial logic here as he starts off repealing down a dam, only to escape off a mountaintop, but him and 006 do come out a vent in the floor at one point so...maybe that was an vertically upward vent? I dunno, I tried.
The James bond movies are movie versions of speed runs of... James bond Video games. This could explain why James does not die.
What an opening. Great action sequence.
Perfect hair!
Dives down a dam. Lands at the base and burrows in. Drops through the roof into the bathrooms. Continues to go downstairs through the building. Comes out of a door and is right at the top of a mountain range. Only Bond can do this.
The Best Brosnan era bond movie 🎦 despite so many flaws. Class apart
Haven't watched Goldeneye, didn't know Sean Bean was in it! I truly hope he didn't die in this one!
Nevermind
gotta love the sound of those silencers
brosnan did the gun barrel "Turn and Shoot" best
I swear, never has any man's head of hair, in the history of mankind, ever looked better than Pierce Brosnan's in Goldeneye.
Afer Goleneye, they kept his hair much shorter and I never could figure this out. It looked sho much better longer like it did here. And they did the same to Daniel Craig. He also has a good head of hair and they also kept his hair very short during his Bond films. Too ill effect I believe. Can't figure out why. Really detracted much I believe. Only Roger Moore was able to keep his long or full length hair through his stint as Bond. Lucky for him because it worked.
I still remember getting a Nintendo 64 on Christmas Eve, 1997, when a lot of people were there at my house. The moment I opened my gift, I HIT THE ROOF! Next morning, Christmas Day, I found the GoldenEye 007 video game under the Christmas tree and plugged it in my Nintendo 64. It was a good launch!
Rohan Padiyar I did to I remember getting the N64 with limited addition Golden controller and GoldenEye game that was one of my all time favorite Christmas memories as a kid in the 1990s with being 12 in 97. I think I bought GoldenEye on VHS or got for my birthday in December of 96 been a huge Bond fan ever since.
Gotta love how James Bond is so badass that he stares unshielded by protective lens at the surface of where he is burning through metal with a super gigawatt laser.
Probably the greatest escape by Bond in any of his movies.
Beg your pardon, Forgot to knock
A man who fainted in the toilet with his ass exposed 🤣
Even though the Mission films truly give Bond a run for the money, there is no denying that Bond is the father of the action adventure hero. No Ethan, no Rambo, no Indy, no Bourne without Bond.
Ummm I think that Bond is still relatively superior to MI. A lot of the MI stunts are clearly copied from Bond, and they certainly aren't as well-written or as original as the Craig movies
@@maniaccop3403well written or original as the Craig movies. Hahaha that gave me a laugh. The only well written/original Craig Bond film is Casino Royale. I'll even give you NTTD. The rest however range from 'that was ok, nothing special' to 'what was that utter garbage?'
@@alwaysOPEN4business Aight but seriously, MI copies like every movie ever to exist and has no depth in there. At least Skyfall, a movie with a generic plot, has actual depth
“I bet your pardon, I forgot to knock.” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Best Brosnan Bond film.
When you go back and look at them, this was the only really good one that he did.
@@TommyRibs Yes that is true, but I actually didn't mind Tomorrow Never Dies. The World Is Not Enough was enjoyable, but not as great. Die Another Day however was bad (even though there were a couple good moments).
EDIT: After watching the Brosnan ones again just recently, I actually think my opinion on Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough has changed. Think I'd now rank World above Tomorrow now. Haven't changed my thoughts on GoldenEye and Die Another Day though.
Tommy Ribs Because it was made for Dalton. After this the movies got more and more ridiculous and campy.
packr72 this movie was not made for Timothy Dalton. Dalton had left the franchise and they were stalled for five years before they got Brosnan the mix.
Dalton was never going to be in this and had nothing to do with anything related to Golden Eye.
Not wearing eye protection while using the laser to cut the metal, Bond would have become blind.
The hair stays great no matter what ! How does he do it ?
He gels it with the blood and tears of his enemies.
Or he has a secret compartment in his left upper molar for an advanced hair shampoo/gel liquid.
True, but I thought his longer hair looked great in his 1st outing. He cut it shorter in the following 007 movies and did look as good in the part. Just my view. Minor peve though.
Hello,... Thank you good video and work ! Daniel.
love this fiim
Goldeneye - Brosnan's best.
007=😍
Imagine if the master John Barry had scored.
So poetic a pleasure.
Or David Arnold. Its weird that the title theme and the Parodi Fair Goldeneye tracks are standout while the rest of the score by Eric Serra is pretty poor and hits the synth a bit too much.
@@SergioMach7 Arnold’s score for TND was magnificent. If only he’d been able to score Goldeneye.
Such an engaging film!
I love the details like the soldier reading probably Pravada, the soldiers in the mess hall watching a parade in Moscow
Funny how they never have to change magazines...
With one perpellar one that plane, nose diving, there's NO WAY

Mission Impossible.
4:07 - I presume that's Dr. Doak, according to the Nintendo 64 video game.
4:06 Wait they didn't minimize scientist casualties mission failed already
Oh come on, I know it's a joke but the game was based on the film not the other ways around.
Hey guys something i noticed is that bond has no gloves on in the Facility but as soon as he grabs the bike he has gloves on how odd? interesting continuity error.
He had gloves during the intro when he jumps off the top of the dam. Maybe he put them away, and grabbed them later?
The GoldenEye pre-titles is special to me on a personal note. Because the GoldenEye N64 game is actually how I first got hooked on James Bond (not quite sure how that happened). Then I saw the film and it felt weird seeing the gunbarrel sequence and then the dam, facility (especially the boiler room) and the runway as they appear more or less as they do in the game. And then of course all the other settings in the film that also appear in the game like Severnaya, the archives, streets, train and the cradle. Then I started checking out all the other Bond films when ITV had a 00 Heaven season in 1999 for the upcoming release of The World Is Not Enough. I haven't read any of the Ian Fleming novels though.
Andrew Chapman It has been years since I have read them, but I can recommend the novels.
@@AegisNova Well after 22 years, I've finally brought the novels. Read the first 3 so far, just finished Moonraker.
@@AndrewChapman Not looking for anything in depth, and I suppose one could argue it’s not my business, but let me know your general impression, overall.
@@AegisNova Finished them all now. I'd definitely say they're much tougher, grittier than the films. Definitely see now why some often debate who's closer to Fleming's Bond between Dalton and Craig. Think I actually like it when Bond shows more weakness and vulnerability in the novels than in the films.
@@AndrewChapman I appreciate you taking time to get back to me. I’m glad you enjoyed the novels and my recommendation didn’t waste your time.

Bond didn't lock the carabiner
Why did he shoot doctor David doak? Surely that meant a mission fail?
006 RIP

Makes you wonder obviously Ouromov had a blank. But did the other guards / Alec have blanks ? Who was in on the plan ? :)
Why they use CGI gloves for Bond when he jumped off to catch the plane?
A human body has a better aerodynamics than an plane? He falls faster than the plane? And only the Junkers JU 87 Stuka howls in the fall flight. Known in Germany as "Jericho Trompete"!
That's why nobody should read newspapers in toilets.

This video has lousy picture quality.

Unlike the Activision video game, You rendezvous with 006 as soon as the level starts. The Nintendo 64 version closely follows the movie, except you drive a tank to the plane, not a bike.

No disrespect to the director nor Pierce Brosnan, but Tom Cruise would've jumped for real 🤷🏻♂️
That's probably true...but it was done for real by BJ Worth, a veteran Bond stunt man since Moonraker.

I love PB as Bond. But I must say this is one dumb pre title sequence. It absolutely is unrealistic and flawed. They tried to bring it close to the living daylights too.

Most ridiculous opening of all of them
One of the best Bondmovies ever made. Brosnan is the next best Bond after Connery and Craig is worst. Craig is a real disaster.
Otto Von Stirlitz are you gay or something? GoldenEye was one of the worst by far.... Had no sense of realism or edge and the development was Terrible... The acting by m and bond were cheesy and over the top.... By far one of the worst Bond films
TheLewisLegend from Russia with love had a close feel of espionage.... No stupid over the top stunts or super cheesy acting
amarsbarr I guess the training ground scene or the death of kronsteen or the cartoonish Spectre where all somehow not over the top?
The downfall of Bond as an fictional entertainment character began with Brosnan and was complete with Craig. Now he's a retired/senior version of Jason Bourne hell bent on becoming a weapon of mass destruction from a clever weapon of massive charm.
Shin Kansen Bond is more realistic than ever, thus better. Craig has a lot of charm to him as well, it is just not as cheesy as older Bonds.
ThePunisher_be, the Bond character has become a grumpy old man killing everyone in-sight. Craig fits that grumpy image quite well and some. But Bond's first weapon of choice has always been charm and cleverness -- which Craig lacks in both.
Shin Kansen Roger Moore always used his charm and tongue in cheek humor while being deadly Bond when wanted to be not as cold as Connery or Dalton.
All of them had some combination of what you describe, but Moore was more overt, as if performing for the camera. Connery, on the other hand, was all about the women. Killing the bad guy was just a detour. By those standards, Craig is positively wrinkly old "get-off-my-lawn" coot.
@@vp4744 for me , dalton combines all what you say and with his voice, as a major plus, he is the closest to Fleming's character.

Shit gun barrel music... and score in general, unfortunately. Great title song. It’s a shame it went downhill from there.
And yet here you are, having clicked on the title. You’re clearly a bit dumb aren’t you?
It's a shame they couldn't get John Barry. Eric Serra had absolutely no business being anywhere near this movie.
Apart from the gunbarrel the rest of the movie was shit... Brosnan tried too hard in his acting and it came across as cheesy. And the film had such a boring slow development.... Cheesy soundtrack and cheesy acting from everyone...
The score ruined it for me, title song ok due to its Barry esq style. Pierce and the cast worked well in my opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how absurd it is. I would like to have seen more variety and originality in his rebuttal other than to recycle the word cheesy multiple times. Goldeneye is ranked and rated among the better films in the series for a reason and Brosnan was an tremendous Bond. Sean Bean was a great villain and Judi Dench nailed it as M. The acting and writing were on point. This movie revived the series after Dalton’s depthless Bond almost killed it and without it we don’t make it to the Daniel Craig era.
No Sean borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring
Ourumov sees Bond flying away in plane: “I’m not even mad. That was amazing.”
