This was my favorite movie as a kid and still is. This movie actually inspired me to become a storm chaser. ( universal studios took down the twister ride. 😩😭) it will be missed
To be fair, tornado survivors have described the sounds the tornadoes made as things like a hundred lions roaring, a titanic washing machine, screaming pigs, a giant bucket of rocks being dumped onto concrete, massive jet engines, and others.
The sound effect for the tornadoes was that they build a box with chicken wires and use a microphone in it and moving it and use different boxes they build to make the wind sound and the box they build with the wires made the growling sound effects and use cars and truck on top to make the sound effects for the tornado destroying stuff (I fixed my mistake for the information)
@@Firemarioflower f1s cant fucking rip a barn and multiple grain mills apart in about a second, as well as keep a truck in the air for about 12 seconds after it dissipates. f4. no questions asked.
@@MichelleW870 You underestimate tornadoes severly. What F1's can do is just about incredible. It's certainly not F4 because everything would be up in the air for way longer and missles and land miles further. Also an F4 would've killed Bill and Jo and they couldn't have survived sheltering under that wooden bridge. They would have been sucked up very quickly..... F1's have done such damage. There's plenty of records of F1 tornadoes who did this very thing. Barns and grain mills aren't that strong anyways.
@@MichelleW870 It's an F2 yeah an F1 can destroy a barn, but that's like if it's poorly built. Barns aren't built the same like houses so they can be destroyed easily. The truck is picked up for 12 seconds, but is only moved like 100 feet away from them easily high end F2. F2s also have higher windspeeds compared to EF2s so it makes more sense.
They better use a different siren sound, though. The one they used in the original is overused af. I recommend a 3t22 or 4/5 Thunderbolt for the siren sound
I think they did a good job. But let's see how easy it is for you to record 100mph+ wind speeds without distortion. And crystal clear audio. 1996 movie, they did a good job.

As weird as the sounds were, it made the tornadoes life like and legitimately terrifying

I've always believed this tornado was an F-1, but it may be more like an F-2 or F-3 because of the damage it did
