- AWD swaps are no longer needed for dirt racing now for B-Class in Forza Horizon 5. The class are just slow enough that FWD/RWD have enough traction for dirt races, thanks to the new off-road race tires. Showcasing FWD superiority in some Online B-Class Horizon Open Lobbies. The car used is the 1993 Renault Clio Williams.

1993 Renault Clio Williams B-Class Dirt performance review:
Not familiar with B-Class dirt yet and not 100% sure with the meta. But the Clio Williams does have good overall dirt performance and road handling to do well on B-Class dirt. You will have to be smooth driving it and avoid any sort of sliding as it does hurt your speed. Try to keep it smooth through the turns.
The only downside is its lack of top end due to it only having 240hp. So any long straights other dirt cars with more horsepower will perform better. But for any circuit scramble races, the Clio Williams will shine. On the swamp area under wet conditions, it will have a bit of traction issues but for most areas it is fine.

A class as well, at least for road builds anyway, try the BMW i8 RWD on rally tyres for street racing, bump both wheels in width by 1 and increase power as needed, haven't lost a race yet.
Not gonna lie, feels refreshing to not need to AWD swap in every class, although I'm not used to it, all that ranked grinding for top 100 in FH4 made me too used to AWD everything lol

I’ve found A and B-class rallying to be some of the most fun I’ve had playing Forza … it’s easy to control, so it’s really about great shifting and overtaking to win.
Also the hydroplaning in this game is pretty brutal

Yea I agree. It is fun to run the RS200 in S1/S2 but the most fun is had in A, B and C!

S1 or above is just group B rallying and stresses me out so much
Theres a spot that you can take to avoid big puddles in some tracks

FWD Builds were also competitive on B-Class on Forza Horizon 4, I used to drive one of the 2010's Renault Clio and that thing was amazing, sadly I think Playground Games removed it from the game.
They don't remove cars from the game.

@@nerdi5 fh5 wasn't made from the ground up, meaning it probably had fh4´s entire car roster present at some point in development, heck it still might even be in the game files of the retail or development version.
I reaaally really like what Playground did to H5 in terms of vehicles, many of them now are competitive and def a lot of fun to drive, not like H4

Yeah online. Try to race ai with a fwd or rwd rally build and you lose every time. Why the ai have absolutely perfect traction on dirt. I have no idea.

AWD was so op on horizon 4 but now you can pretty much drive whatever you want in horizon 5 as long you know how to drive.
yeah, awd swapping the world was a bit boring, i always prefer to use stock engine and drivetrain
The V12+awd swap is unfortunately still a big thing in S1/S2 and rivals

I love that in this game many cars are competetive and skills play a more significant role than in F4
the variety is decent now, but wait a couple longer and each lobby will be basicaly monthly rivals of a single car

I can use Hoonigan Ford F150 for both rallying and road race as well as being competitive with HSV on dirt

There are so many races I’m yet to do on FH5. Seeing the videos makes me excited to play it when I get in from work though.

FWD could have a place in A class too - i did have a good run on one of the high speed tracks with an A Class Clio. might be worth a try?

The Clio V6 in A Class wasn't that bad in FH4 either. Quite fun to drive! Only good for circuits, though. No high speed stuff
@@DemRizzo Isn't the V6 the mid-engined widebody one? I was referring to the 1990s FF one that ISAD uses in the video when I said A Class clio
Definitely, been experimenting with fwd power cars like the VW scirocco, Mugen civic etc and they’re competitive

The Mugen 84 Honda Civic is an excellent FWD car you can put a turbo in the stock engine along with a couple other upgrades and make it a pretty good b class car.

Funny thing is both off-road tyres work pretty well, but less its a cross country I centre to balance on and off-road traction with the rally-purposed tires, plenty go purely off-road and become pure fodder in the road portions

Is abs a must? I have it off but can't set the triggers in the elite 2 controller like the elite original to brake at 90%. A full press on any 3 of the settings hits 100% do have to manual work it out hahaha

The CRX is competitive in A class as a FWD as well! Yeeted it on slicks and it doesn't get outdragged in the straights!

B class rally works in fh4 also, though they require quite a bit more tuning.

Thoughts on the old Bugatti in this class? I’ve won 90+% of my races in it online so far, and would love to know if you think it’s viable.
FH5 is substantial upgrade in terms of car handling. It feels nicer than previous entry, and I don't need to turn on Traction Control in order to drive without too much slide.
Good to seen FWD get a needed upgrade.

Quick question: is there a way to hide the player list on the left like in horizon 3 and 4? It blocks the rear view mirror when in cockpit view.
You have an option yeah. It is under HUD and Gameplay, lap time and positions.
I would like to see you drive the mosler mt900 on S2, super strong top 5 in s2 in my opinion idk just love driving it. Its also top tier in s2 cross country races.

AWD might not be mandatory but new players or people that don’t understand FWD racing would still be better off in a AWD car as FWD is a lot less forgiving

WRC group N winner 3 times, about time Clio got bit of Recognition from a game developer Renault make 65% of all engines in F1. And own Nissan. 👍
There have been plenty of legendary FWD Rally cars. From the Raunlt 5 Turbo to the Ford Focus and the 206 Peugeot Esso.
Renault 5 Turbo is MR. Focus WRC is 4WD

Is RWD viable now for normal races in higher classes?
RWD always has been viable since FH4 as the fastest cars were RWD powerbuilds. The big question is, can you control 1000hp+ monsters?
@@IsuckAtDriving yeah the weird power builds like the Shelby Monaco are very much viable but normal RWD handling builds in S1 or S2 aren’t meta by any means.
much easier to drive than in FH4 now, especially in A and S1 thet are better than in previous one as you finally can see clear difference on straight
@@konusRTV for sure, it’s definitely noticeable but how does it compare to AWD
@@VerticalStrafes It kinda sucks compared to AWD. RWD is too expensive in terms of PI, RWD cars corner better than AWD, but still you sacrifice just too much acceleration, control and versatility to make it truly worth it. I'm not sure if RWD cars aren't actually harder to handle in Forza than IRL. On standard (non-simulation) drive mode RWD needs some help, or at least lower PI cost so you can put better tires for staying RWD.

For racing it is fixed for me, but many others were saying it is not fully fixed.

Tried FWD rally in the first day of launch. It can drive well, just seriously underpowered compare to meta cars. B class is too slow that even some handling tracks turns into power test. Very sad.....
Implying meta cars exist in this game, which they don't. Unlike the previous game, everything is competitive, so there is no "meta"

I wonder if they will turn on the rankings. The league in Forza 4 is the best mode for me :(
Now there are no rankings, people leave the race. It does not make sense.
There must be rankings for early exit penalties. We have to write and talk about it aloud, show in films that there are no rankings. Let us not be indifferent.
