I just realized the lyrics "'til I fell down and saw how nice they all were" has a double meaning. (I'm kind of new to storyshift but-)
1. Literally, fell into Ebott and met the monsters, was taken in and shown kindness.
2. "Fell down" mentally, or failed, etc. was helped back up (still figuratively) and then realized that they had met kind friends that were willing to take them in and... well... be nice to them.
Though the first is the most obvious, I always interpreted it as the second for some reason.
