Hey I just came across your page. Thank you for the info. I'm a part of that Facebook group as well. I'm looking to get my van in a week or two. Keep on pushing forward. I just subscribed to your channel as well. I have been following lots of people for 2 years now. As well as doing 10 apps daily for almost 3 years. I think it's about that time to get this van.
Almost forgot - I run a trailer hitch step, wrapped it in reflective tape because I'm on the road before the sun's up. My gimpy knees find this MUCH easier when climbing into the back of the van. It also gives me a platform I can place a 2x4 on to leverage some of the larger, bulkier (not 'heavy' but bulky) items down without having to setup the ramp Since you're apparently sleeping in the van, I've seen people use this as a cooking station with a hot plate or Foreman Grill on clear nights. SHOULD only require a piece of 3/8 alum, a few carriage bolts and some wing nuts, no more cooking inside with the grease/scraps attracting the bugs
@JKLauderdale yeah, my knees are a lil gimpy too from playing football.. thanks alot? I get I'm going to buy a bigger power inverter, so that I can have a cooking station or heating blanket for the winter this year
@@EverydayImRussellin13 Google: Alternator charger Buy as large of an all-in-one battery as you can. Talk to the accountant, it should be able to be written off (at least partially) as a work expense. Bluetti>Ecoflow>Anker would be how I view them. OTR lets you maintain a larger steady charge via alternator vs your cigarette adapter. Bluetti's AC180 should FULLY charge in ~5hrs and is the SMALLEST option I'd go with if you're dealing with snowy winters
Preventative Maintenance Get an accountant You can afford to take one day every 4-6months and drop it off at your mechanic. You want to get ahead of any issues that might creep up on you on the road. Check and rotate the tires, tighten your belts, all the little things that can slowly snowball into bigger issues at 70mph on I95. Keep a running history IN your van so if something DOES happen, you can go through the file. You'll also need those receipts for your accountant come tax time. IDK about you but I don't know a damn thing about taxes. It might cost you a bit but chances are, they'll get you a better return than you would've thought.
Hey brother , I’m a retired CDL A driver after 25 years in the biz as driver and owner operator for 12 years I retired about 3 months ago. Been thinking bt doing what you are doing, going to do my research on it , I know I’m ahead of the game somewhat with my experience with tractor experience but I’m wondering if it’s best to lease on with a company or dealing with load boards with the van business. I’m thinking leasing on with a company is less of a headache. I agree with all you said in this video because it all applies to big rigs too lol . Appreciate you bro and good luck 👍🏾🍀
@LikDemDun congrats on the retirement. I would definitely say you're ahead of the game, especially if you still have some connections with dispatchers and brokers.. I know that for me right now it's less of a headache for me having a team of dispatchers find me loads while I'm still learning the business. thanks for the comment
@SolRuffin i drive for a carrier company, so they have a team of dispatchers that find loads for me. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you.. I know a few drivers that use DAT load board.. sorry I couldn't be more helpful
Another thing you should have learned is how the company’s are giving you a fraction of what they are getting paid! Y’all guys act like it’s all about getting into this industry just like someone else you see and it’s ridiculous because in a little while there won’t be no money in this it’s already garbage pay why no one wants to be a painter or a plumber
Hey man
I'm from Syria, and i have enjoyed your videos. god bless you and your family drive safe bro
You had me rollin' with that oil change... LOL! Be safe out there.
