I love that doug is just like "Bunch of people make them, buy ours if you want, or make your own." This not shoving our product down your throat advertising is the kind I like, well done.
I really appreciate the tech tip Tuesday topics, making folks aware of dangers that can happen, and until someone makes you aware of how it can go wrong, you just don’t know till you experience it, keep it up Dougie fresh 👍🏼
I work for a company that makes these cables. When these are are made to a predetermined length, we typically crimp those caps on. A tip, when you install the cable to the car, clamp the conduit (the black part) every few feet, this helps eliminate excessive play.
That just seems like basic common sense... I’ve worked around cables like these for years.. even VW universal throttle cables have a cap similar to those...
Thats honesly a stupid design for such a simple fix. Why would the parachute makers not just use a steel braided brake cable thats schrouded with a smooth aluminum rod on the end as the release rod?
They're not made to length, they're custom to each car. You run the cable through your car, in whatever path you need to, then trim it to length. You need to be able to put the cap on after trimming.

Not fast enough yet for a parachute, but now i know when that day arrives. Good content as always.
Basically bigger version of bicycle cables, called Ferrules in some places
Good stuff and thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍
nice job Doug 👍
Seems so simple that every cable should come with one.
Blessings brother

In a sport that's all about the GO it's easy to overlook the WHOA
Vacuum cap with a hole in it was the old trick to cap them.
You should cover fire systems on a tech tip
Wish you had this 2 months ago when I ordered my spring launcher parashute and mount from yall
How come your parachute mount doesn't come with a bracket to hold the cable and the cable-end cap
Why not included it with the purchase of a cable?
👍
