    Oh wow stunning views! You bring natures beauty into our lives. I particularly liked the filming of the win berry bushes even though they wasn't laden with berries at that time. Always reminds me of childhood when mum baked win berry pies, have you tried win berry pies Patrick? Been binge watching your videos of when you were that young handsome chap in the black leather hat and jacket! No flattering but you still are handsome! Thanks patrick for all your hard work!

      Thank you so much Anna for all your lovely comments! 😊 Glad you enjoyed the walk in this film, it was nice to capture those wimberries along the route. I've never tried them myself, but I've seen others pick them and eat them when out walking. Many thanks again Anna and for taking the time to watch 👍

    I've never been to Bleaklow Head from Torside Patrick. It looks like a really beautiful hike and more forgiving than some other ways I've been up. The flattest is the Pennine Way from Snake Pass, but this one is definitely one I want to try. I enjoy people coming to the Peak District, but I'm glad most stick the beaten tracks and tourist bits. I like seeing fellow hikers if you know what I mean, but I've seen people hiking to Bleaklow Head in some really inappropriate gear. You just think, I'm glad it is a nice day. They really don't know how dangerous it can be up there. All you need is an iffy day, and the weather turns on a penny. But this was a beautiful hike, Patrick. Thank you for sharing.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Рік тому +1

      Despite the length, Near Black Clough is probably the easiest route onto Bleaklow after the Pennine Way route from Snake Pass. It's a lovely clough and I saw no-one else along that stretch. I've seen people wearing inappropriate gear too, which worries me when I see them on places like Bleaklow, even in good weather. You certainly need good walking boots to walk down Torside Clough. Glad you enjoyed this walk Chris, thanks as always for your support and for taking the time to watch 👍

    Nice to see familiar areas again. A regular walk many years ago was up Near Back Clough, then along the top to Bleaklow Stones, and down by Far Black Clough. There is no path up Middle Black Clough, but I did that once and found aircraft wreckage scattered in a line over about a mile. It must have hit the ground and gradually broken up over a distance. You had a fine day for your walk, and I agree, Torside Clough is a delight - in either direction. Many thanks.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Рік тому

      I've heard that there are other parts on Bleaklow with aircraft crash wreckage, but have not reached those spots myself as yet. I think the walk up Near Black Clough is fantastic, saw no-one at all on that stretch. The weather was sure on my side when I filmed this and, although a tough section, Torside Clough was just amazing. Thanks Michael for watching and commenting 👍

    Beautiful countryside and walk, I know how you feel when the lambs bleat at you, I had one last week at Alport castles,bleating away at me all on its own, you feel helpless that you can’t do anything for them…. Bless

      Good to know you're familiar with this area Shanita. One of the longer walks I've filmed, but that's the reason I chose to do this on a good weather day in the middle of summer, so that I knew I had plenty of time and daylight. Thank you as always for your kind words about the music, I'm pleased you enjoyed listening to it. I've just found the link to my video on your Facebook page too, so thank you very much for sharing that Shanita, it is very much appreciated. All the best 👍

    Really nice to see the outer edges of the Peak District Patrick. When ever we get to visit it's usualy restricted a to a week at max and so we only ever get to do the 'usual' must have central locations. We could actually drive from home (Leeds) to carry out this walk as it's probably a similar hours drive there for us too. :o)

    Wow, you sure put a shift in with that walk. That really was a full days work and well over ten miles. It's like you are on a different planet at times up there. The scenery and fauna changes so much but what colours. Nice to see you in the cap instead of your hat. When it's windy up there, it sure is windy. I would have felt the same about the lamb but what can you do? Most likely it will have been reunited with its mother later. Your cinematography on the landscape is excellent. So beautiful to see. I was a bit livid to see the famous oak tree at Hadrians Wall get chopped down. Some people have no respect for the countryside. As always, I really enjoyed it and twenty minutes felt like five when watching. Cheers Patrick and thank you 😊

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Рік тому +1

      Yes I was very conscious of the mileage for this walk, so I put the pace on along the Longdendale Trail with little filming before turning off to climb up Near Back Clough. This was the reason I filmed it (and other recent bleak walks) on a good weather day during the summer, to give me lots of daylight to get the walk captured should it be a longer day than normal. I felt really sad about that lamb, but I hoped that it would have united with other sheep later that day. Glad you like the cinematography, I do try to capture each shot in the most interesting way I can. I too was livid about Sycamore Gap, just unbelievable. Thanks as always Kelly for all your comments and for watching 👍

    Another good one, as usual.
    Are you doing the Pennine Way in a series of circular walks or is it just coincidence the last few films have been heading north along the PW?
    PS Think the red flag will be a route marker for a fell race that was missed when the race sweepers collected them.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  Рік тому +1

      Thank you. It's just a coincidence. Thanks for the info about the red flag, that would seem the probable reason 👍
