In simple terms: Until smarter people & better political parties offer the poor masses a better deal, and aggressively market it... the poor will keep voting for the ANC because they believe it takes care of their basic needs. I understand what you're trying to say. That is the TRAP that ANC has set for us. Our poverty was manufactured so that we find it hard to break away from them. That's why even DA & EFF manifestos are promising grant increases, they've also realised that. We need change. We can't continue like this.
If we look at the values of all parties in SA, which values align with your own the most? That is the party you should be voting for. And I'm not sure I agree with you, saying that all the grants etc. would instantly disappear, the new party in power will have to provide an alternative, at least the opportunities for the economy to grow. The most important thing today is to get the ANC out, so vote for any party in the Multi-charter that aligns with your core values, because let's be honest, the ANC's values are for the elite few, keeping the poor desperate and dependent on the R350 without giving them the chance at growth.
I would argue that these new parties have managed to gain the support of the poor masses in their own way this time around. MK the new party has managed to move the poor masses countrywide especially in KZN. But of course we'll truly see when the votes have been counted.
