Even though the Knicks used the 3 pointer to kill the Bulls on this particular evening, this kind of basketball is WAY more entertaining than today’s style of play
The Knicks won that game 104-72. They sent the Bulls the worst loss of the season. Derek Harper, John Starks, and Hubert Davis lit the Bulls up with treys.
My best friend had Kicks season tickets, and I'd told him I wanted to see Michael Jordan just once, so he took me to this game. What doesn't come across on this video is the fact that the NY crowd would clam up and just shake their heads when MJ made some of those shots. BTW - that was t-shirt night, too.
that being said, Derek Harper and John Starks pretty much owned Houston's backcourt in games 2-6. The Knicks scored more points than Houston throughout the 7 games in that finals. Every game of that final was a nailbiter, decided by less than 7-8 points every game. The series was about as close as a series could be and the series came down to a blocked shot in game 6 by Hakeem on Starks and a Game 7 bummer by Starks that ultimately decided the series. I can't give all credit to Hakeem. I can't give all blame to Starks, Harper or Ewing. It was about as close and as admirable a 7 game series by both teams that has ever happened in the NBA. in other words, the Knicks didn't lose the series, but more, there can only be 1 champion and the Knicks couldn't share the trophy with Houston but they both fought like admirable champions in 1994.
I remember watching this game as it originally aired. I ate a whole bag of Hershey kisses and after the game shot 200 set shots. Just flying around the court
is it just me, or was Marv Albert overly fawning of MJ & the bulls, and muted with every Knicks field goal or play? Normally, I get it, it's MJ & the Bulls, but Marv is a NY guy. A little annoying
@@chaunseybillings5381 Chaunsey, he's a born n bred NYer calling Knicks & Rangers games his whole career lol. Stop talking out your ass, dummy. I think it's plausible that his favoring MJ & the Bulls would help his national brand by deflecting suspicion that he's just a NY guy. Business is business i guess.
These were the kinds of games that I watched between the new york knicks and the chicago bulls in the 90s and I really enjoys/loves WATCHING THEM.
Van Gundys first win as Knicks head coach. I remember they were hitting everything.
Best Knicks performance. I was so happy with Van Gundy. Love how he handed Riley's head on a platter in those playoff games.
The Knicks were playing way above their heads that day 💯
Still remember watching this game and can't recall many games of MJ's era Bulls getting their asses kicked that badly. Great game overall still...
The Knicks were always a threat to the Bulls but for whatever reason they just couldn't seem to get their act together when it mattered.

Aside from this being a great game. The Bulls alternate Uniform are still my all time favorite.
yup
Agreed it was my favorite I wanted it even though I hated the bulls lol

I miss those days. NBA is crap now.
Then the Bulls beat them 107-86 a few weeks later.
Only double digit loss in 82 games! Amazing
Actually it was the 2nd loss by double digits that year they lost by 10 to Phoenix in February.

I love the Ewing dunk over Longley.
These and the knicks pacers were great games
Man I miss these days bulls vs Knicks in the 90s
This game and June 12,1996 the nights Bulls got their asses kicked in blowout
If Harper would have controlled the ball in the 1994 Finals, they would have won. Starks had to be a head case

@@alecsanderhamilton9224 Beautifully put.
No other team beat Chicago by double figures in the regular season.
February 06, 1996 = Suns beat the Bulls by 10 points in Phoenix
this had to be a great confidence booster for Jeff Van Gundy moving forward as Knicks head coach
Jeff Van Gundy had hair i didn't even know he did.
WITH AUTHORITY

Man I miss these days bulls vs Knicks NBA on NBC Marv Albert man now the NBA just sucks today
This was on my 25th birthday and Prince was on court side dressed in red with a fine ass lady friend
That run toward the end of the game reeked of fatigue from the Bulls.
boohoo mf'er. They were tired? cry me a river. Give it up for the Knicks they killed them.
Knicks beat bulls by 32 points.
104-72
Man the Knicks won 104 - 72, idk why in the last they did not mention this game
Ewing shoulda ate more beef when he was drafted
Who won??????
Lee Russell Knicks
104-72 knicks. It was the Bulls worst loss of the season.

The Knicks were flat this season compared to their last few seasons. Don Nelson was a terrible Knicks coach. Van gundy picked them back up.
They started this season with an 18-6 Record
They finished 46-26 the year before they were 55-27

You got to understand everybody's love it's Jordan and bulls back then
He was a Chicago bulls fan he call all of their NBA finals game I can't say that about the Knicks

Nice to see the knicks kick the bulls ass for once
