I mean i don't blame him he's been working on this for 10 plus years now. He want to work on something new with the goblin slayer author. So the onlything we can expect from these last 2 volumes is that the slane theocracy gets destroyed way worse than the re estiz kingdom. Ainz figure out about the last players who came before he did. And probably pdl drangon with red drop and blue rose pull an all out attack on ainz and nazarick. But ainz beats pdl drangon easily that's it. No more theories about albedo hit squad and about renner betraying ainz.
"He want to work on something new with the goblin slayer author." no that's the artist not the writer for Overlord. So-bin is the artist for Overlord Ln's not the writer.
@@Espiritu_Analysis yeah, the working with the goblin slayer stuff isn't the author. However, the author does get frustrated with writing Overlord as evidenced by some of his Twitter posts. I saw one where he got kinda mad that he couldn't write more on the happy farm and couldn't kill the blue roses in story. The author is probably also tired of writing the same story for years, so at least the alt. universe where Ainz showed up 200 years earlier was something different.
Bruh. You literally said everything that I had in mind after reading it. There is so much irrelevant stuff in this volume which is interesting to read but it doesn't progress the story nor does it give away the loads and loads of info and lore that we still dont know. I just dont understand how this can end in 2 Volumes. But the volume was still a good read none the less
The onlything we can expect these last two volumes 17 and 18 is that when ainz destroys the slane theocracy he finds out about the players who came before him. Then he has a final battle with pdl drangon and wins with ease. So all the lore and theories won't come because the author wants to work on something new.
Maruyama doesn't seem like a person that would abandon the work of his life before finishing most of it, he might give us a vauge "end?" with the last volume. After becoming such a well known story, the author will most likely come back to it when he wants to or someone else will continiue the series.
Great vid I agree the fluff is too much this late in the game I feel like the writer tends to get elaborate and derails the story with tangents trying to flush out a scene for the reader to get the clearest picture with vantage point internal monologue and comprehension of emotions during interactions gets too expository. I get what the writer is trying to do trying to have the reader relate by appealing to the normal aspects of psychology and being introspective during interactions (example :I asked if she wanted coffee and even though I received a positive response I pondered was this just because she refuses to turn something down offered by me or could she have perhaps wanted the coffee I thought to myself as I poured the coffee )however I wish we could skip some of the very trivial things like second guesses that don’t matter all that much in the grand scheme .
I still liked chapter 1, since it was about Nazarick and the lifestyle within, and we can never have too much of that. But the entire dark elf thing.... even overextending to volume 16. WHO. CARES. I cannot overexpress that there are only TWO volumes left. These WHOMEGALOLS are NEVER GONNA SHOW UP AGAIN. I could not care a tiddlywink less about any one of them or about how the tweens there are throwing a fit. I mean come on, Gondo Firebeard is never heard from again. If he moved to the Kingdom and is never mentioned again, WHY WOULD THESE SCHMUCKS BE??? Watching social anxiety simulator for what is basically an entire novel's worth of content this late into the game is infuriating It's called "The Half-Elf Godkin" and for Christ's sake, she barely got an epilogue to her name!! Instead of introducing new characters that are IRRELEVANT to even the plot of the EXACT SAME volume, start wrapping up characters we already know of, or hell flesh out the New World backstory more or or idk.... work on character stories that ACTUALLY MATTER, like THE ELF KING or the THEOCRACY'S SCRIPTURES!
Maybe I would've liked it more if they had any sort of real consequence to the story... like the lizardmen or the ice dragons/giants. But there just simply is not enough time for that. After reading volume 16 where they literally leave the whole village in the dust with 0 PLOT PROGRESSION feels like a kick to the balls
You know it would be funny if the author's true reason he split the volume was because if Madhouse does another season it will basically be two volumes covered instead of three.
Honestly i have really bad feeling about the end of overlord... Its gonna be sloppy and predictable... i think the beginning of the series came bite him in to the ass...
What I think is hot what about the draconic kingdom and the ugliest Castle State what about those is he not going to write about the city state alliance
I think you are apologizing to much for your opinion. You d this a lot. It's like you are preemptively bracing yourself to take a hit when you should just let it pass you by.
how tf do you make a popular series with tons of fans then just throw it out the window. people get invested in stories, if this is how he treats his novels im not going to read his work anymore. I get being burnt out but hand your notes over to someone else or just take a hiatus and come back to it. what a waste.

It's just sad because the author doesn't want to write this world anymore as he says it himself.

Trust me, overlord proved a low low LOW budget show with good world building can make back millions.
The IP will get bought and continue

It’s really a shame that overlord isn’t going to be longer.
The ending is my one legitimate concern for Overlord. I honestly can't see how this series is supposed to end in 2 more volumes.

You can read about Draconic Kingdom in the Valkyrie's Shadow
Yeah looks like he was like “ this need to get done, ugh I’m sick of writing this shit” which is sad to see. This just me though

Ok so originally author was planning to make overlord 3-5 vol longer then it will be. Main reason is piracy and author depression.
It’s actually a shame the creator is rushing his own masterpiece
Yea I know drangon kingdom wild magic of the queen
Does anyone know when the English translation for vol 15 comes out i really wanna buy it -_-
I hated this volume tho. Hardly gave any story. I could summarize the entire volume with 1 small sentence.
Evil eye side story? Where do I get it?

I think your right but I know how insane some of the die hard Overlord fans can be at times. And I'm already seeing them rolling.
The author is ending overlord in 18 volumes how that possible how he changes his mind to do more.
He is sick and tired of the story it seems. So nothing you say or plead will do any difference.
Totally agree! Volume 15 was weak. Very short and too much uninteresting filler.
The elves seem to be primitive and not very interesting, outside of the elf king
The volume 15 was utter rubbish. The last part of the vol 16 was the only thing i find interesting.
Think overlord ended with vol 13 in my eyes. Would rather he just stop it there instead of not putting in the effort
This was genuinely such a bad read. I barely resisted skipping when he was trying to talk to the elf slaves or in the cafetaria like omgg...
