Izaw is like, the GOAT for "new character" guide, for the average player. He's got enough of a grasp on the game and it's mechanics to know every character's strengths and weaknesses, even if he doesn't play each one at a top tier level. His Link is his strongest character for sure, but the man can really pick up whoever he wants at this point and beat any non-tournament level player. And when I say "tournament level" I don't mean Random Steve #678 that made it to top 64 by playing Steve or Aegis, I mean lower level regional bracket players.
dude's guide is actually good. I get why Marss has to critique some things for competitive play and appearance reasons, but it is an informative and clean guide for newer/mid/more experienced players.
Agreed I think he provides valuable information on what a character's strengths and weaknesses are. I never considered him to be a combo guide, so I am not surprised that the combos he mentioned are a bit outdated and not necessarily true
@@ngotemna8875 I very much agree. he is very good for learning a characters neutral, win condition, advantage, and specifics/set play of the character but fails in explaining execution or routing.
I was curious about Yoshi, and his video showed me things that made yoshi look like a top 10 character. Options and applications I'd never even considered. Amazing info!
@@Clarkbardoone My Marth improved tremendously, just because of the basics I learned from his video. It's the small things like doing sideB like this: side, side, down, side Instead of: side, side, side, [wait], side. Way more consistent, way easier because you do not have to wait depending on how much damage the enemy has.
Well with how they designed him, it’d probably be worse if there was a sour spot there. Diamond axe sourspot combo into upsmash on short characters for infinity percent 💀
I just think the power levels of the materials are ridiculous. Why does Diamond up air do 11% it literally combos better than Meta Knight upair, which does 5 (or 2% if staled)
@@idkwhattoputhere871 is it though? Steve is capable of stacking diamonds by constant mining, it’s far from reasonable for him to be that powerful. Besides, my argument holds with wooden upair, which does 8 on its own, which is still more than any other upair combo character (ZSS, Mythra, MK, Mario, Falcon, etc)
Found the timestamp and modified the comment to suit. Having said that, I'm not sure what you mean? He had just got hit by up-tilt, and used down-b on pretty much the first actionable frame, i.e. "out of" hitstun.
@@Mars-pw4iw Basically every multihit in the game is leaky af. I get people meme on it with ZSS, but they forget that its just true of like every character lol. Ultimate is the game where moves just dont work sometimes.
It’s funny you mention how you mentioned you would go over each character’s moves and their use cases in your hypothetical tutorial, because that was exactly what Izaw did in his Smash 4 character tutorials. He only switched to the current format in early Ultimate.
So Marss reviews a guide targeted at people picking up a character with the mindset like Izaw is trying to teach a top player to play their character. Sure. Sure man.
I've been thinking about how a lot of ZSS's kit translates over to Joker Poking with zair is similar to Gun, plus Joker gets yeeha ZSS landing nair and Joker landing fair 1 are both pseudo-safe options against shield but lead to big combos/kills ZSS's dashes are better, but Joker runs really low to the ground. Both are high mobility characters Flipjump and down Gun in disadvantage do very different things, but are still uniquely good disadvantage tools But Joker doesn't sux This hit me when I saw Marss at Summit tech chasing with f smash. It seems unconventional but after thinking about it more, it's probably a carry-over of him tech chasing with ZSS d smash
I wonder if we could get IZAW to update his guides in 2022 now that the games not gonna be patched anymore and its had time to develop. Probably not since thats like what...80 chars? It's a thought tho.
All I'm hearing is we need a marss zss guide

100%. His target audience isn’t the best player of a character. It’s people trying to learn a character. Marss and his chat don’t seem to get that.
Yeah mars will play the cringe “haha zaps bad” even though I’m really fuckibg good with him trope.
I think "the fanciest zss guide" trophy EASILY goes to Stawbs Orio. His videos are clean.
Facts

There are parts of Orios guide in iZaWs 'Art of ZSS'

Izaw has pretty good videos if your trying to get into a new character

Izaw does go to tournaments in montreal, he's current ranked 10th on the pr (if that's the link I'm thinking of)
@@StealthKey He mainly plays Ike for training sessions because he's such a very basic character

Fanciest guide is a weird way to say “The Best Guide I’ve ever reviewed on my channel”
I feel that it’s only a matter of time before marss tries brawler cause he’s a similar character, especially with helikick.
He said he might on Panda's yt, but i think he was joking
Enter Esam:
"Mii Brawler? Busted!"
The guide proves why she’s mid. Glad Marss picked up Joker, who has moves that work.
yeah the forward air connecting must be surprise for marss

Izaw has the most optimal voice for guides it’s so relaxing
Marss is gonna be dropping a ZSS guide at 150k subs.... He reviewed this guide as a tease
Time to make your own guide king
Marss is gonna make sure he picks this thing apart lol
I love how Marss face on the thumbnail is exactly what he feels about the trash girl

Let’s get a review of Orio’s vids! I def learned the most from him
I swear when watching you Marss, more moves you hit combo into Arial boost kick than I can count, and nobody talks about it.
Izaw makes fantastic videos and guides
I swear in a video marss said that he had a ZSS guide filmed and everything he just needed to write the script and film the video...

Sparta’s zss goes crazy af !! He’s been a main for 14 years
Let’s get a ZSS guide from Marss now 😁
Also to be fair, a lot of people watching these guides are people who need them more, not top players
Watching this post Genisis 9 and I am pretty sure I saw Marss try and nair 3 times in a row. And it almost worked lol
3:52 any orphan viewers probably laughing rn
That ending had me cracking up
Izaw does go to locals here in Montreal Quebec Canada

STAWBs Orio has the true zss guide
Me: Wait. ZSS Sux wasn’t a joke?
Marrs: It never was.
Spartazss the cleanest zss i know and that will never change
ZSS reminds me of Marth, except when you miss a tipper you get punished severely or SD.
When the best player of a certain character in the game says she sucks then id be inclined to think ZSS sucks just me tho
To be fair, marss in an exception because you should never believe anything he says ever. It just so happens that he’s the best zss.
Almost 150k subs LETS GOOOO
Just wait til he sees Izaw’s Steve video
I haven't heard that name since Smash 4 lmaooo
Can you react to mkleo joker vs dabuz
ZSS Guide: "I think the only thing's he's explained is how to do combos and general gameplans" weird lol

Steve is cringe

Carolyne Shores
Emerald Junctions
He needs to react to ddee vs Jake or mkleo vs dabuz next
So many of her old combos were killed by the nerds
Didn’t you lose a FT10 to him?
Hey look it's the guy that said Steve might be the worst in the game
He sounds more disappointed in ZSS not being viable anymore than the guide.
