It's awesome that you had the inspiration to get back in the studio. I wasn't talking to anyone at NAB, but seeing Tom's video gave me serious FOMO. I now want to go next year, not to see the gear, but to meet up with everyone in our little circle of audio weirdos. We are all so lucky to have this kick butt community. This is inspiring, dude. After doing radio most of my life, I find myself without "my people", since the industry has changed so much. Your channel, Podcastage, Tom Buck, Bronson's & others represent my proxy fellow nerd friends. One day I'll get my shit together and make something. Ha!
Love this video. My favorite vids we make are the ones where we bare our soul a little bit. Man even if can’t all do NAB, it would be awesome to have a retreat/get together where we unplug for a week and just have some fun together, get arrested for toilet papering houses…I DONT CARE. We need to start this conversion for a down the road event

The numbers that are important are the ones printed on a paint by numbers canvas but it's your canvas so go crazy! ;) I use Mokose security cameras and iPhones through OBS and a Mac Mini.

Your stage presence is great and you could talk ablut anything! Like anything else you love and know a lot about? Even talking about life and current events! You should have way more subs! But I saw a comment that resonated with me, about it being cheap mics, cus most people want to hear the new mid to expensive mics, cuase most people think the gear makes the quality! I just sold my nuamann tlm 102 cus the neat worker bee 1 and the sm58 are more the good enough with the right plugins or channel strip! Been using the 58 for music for the first time in my life, and really enjoying its results! Kind of crazy to me, so channels like this are important cus half these mics can makes hits with the right voice!

Create, if it goes somewhere then buy big for your taste! But with plugins and channel strips, and the right treatment you can get amazing results! Billie eylish did her first album in the at2020

Realtalk I think gear d¨¨¨k-waving is something done by people who don't actually do anything productive with their gear Nobody cares if you're rocking a vintage Neumann or a Samson handheld, they're going to judge your videos based on how entertaining/informative/whatever you are
I definitely agree with all of this! When I am feeling uninspired and like I don’t want to make a video, talking to other creators and having that support system often re-ignites my drive and inspiration. I definitely went to NAB for the people, not the products.

I’ve been watching NAB videos for a few years and idk what happened this year but I had a severe case of FOMO 😅. I really just wanted to see some of these folks. I too had a few life things happening that kinda took a chuck out of my NAB travel money. I feel like you share the same feeling I have. Everything you said! I love this community man.
