Thank you for video, do you think putting these pines in small pots slows trunk thickening? growing in the ground is best, I use #3 air pot after 2 years

@@ryuichikitadani air layer is to cut bark and grow new roots like for maples in spagnum moss, I know pines can take a couple years, I grow from JBP cuttings to get low branches

こんにちは。楽しく拝見させていただいております。
質問があります。
今夏の芽切りは北谷先生の様に古葉の先をハサミで切る方法で手入れをしました。先を切られた古葉は次第に茶色くなって自然に落ちるそうですが、古葉取りの時期に自分で抜かなくても良いという事でしょうか。

芽切りの時期にかなり短く切ればポロポロ落ちてきやすいですが、ちょっと切ったくらいでは割りと残ります。
状態はともかく、11月に入ったら古葉はまとめて取ってください。

水捌けの良い用土に見えますが、何を使ってますか？

砂(石の粒)と赤玉か、砂と桐生などです。
水はけは大事ですね。どんな用土かも大事ですが、粒の大きさも大事です。
細かすぎるのはあまり良くないですね。
