OMG! Didn't know this footage was in UA-cam! I worked as an art director for this performance! I remember running back and forth of the streets of New York just in order to get those stupid stools that Jon and Richie are sitting because the producer didn't like the original stools we (the production designer and I) provided. Thank you for posting this video.

Surely this is the best version of It's My Life they've performed live! It sounds bloody perfect and I can't notice any backing tracks aside from the 'space station' effects in the intro and after the solo. Love it!

When Richie didn't sing the chorus with Jon during the technical difficulties for "Bed Of Roses," it sounded so different! Their voices were just pure magic together! It's a shame I never saw Bon Jovi live when Richie was still in the band.

I miss Richi in the band - John and him together were so so so good... the harmonies, the chemistry and the energy... I now look back and think of how lucky I was to see them in concert together so many times - wish Richi came back

Be thankful for these kind of memories. This band will never be the same but, who is anyway? As years past by we all evolve and change.

2 things I want to know, why did Bon Jovi never release the song Edge of a Broken Heart as a single, and why did they never play it live? It is a great song and it would probably rekindle me as the fan I used to be. I miss the guys I grew up with, the guys that inspired me to be a musician, to pursue my own individuality, to play the music I want instead of what is popular. Hopefully one day I will get to hear Edge of a Broken Heart and with Richie in the band again.

20 yrs old ,time flys
Wanted made me go get my first Ovation E/A guitar and I sat down for 4 and a half hours, stoned off my ass and learned it. I still play it to this day. Thanks Richie and Jon.

"It's My Life" led to my first band - I could play the song and they couldn't. So we came together to learn it. ;-) That band evolved into my first band playing original songs. 10 years later I had to quit because of my job. Had the best time of my life playing in a band... And I can't tell how many times I played "Prayer" with my singer - him playing Jon's part and me having fun playing fills and singing harmonies.

Richie used to be such a big part of the band. He interacted with the audience more and played so much of a bigger role in the earlier days. I still think that’s why he left. I mean when they first came in he’s talking as much as jon and not playing second fiddle, in his later days he just sat there quietly and did his smaller parts and no more. Like just listen to 3:11 and after- he never did anything like it from lost highway and after. Its really too bad

You can only play second fiddle for so long... Richie had the better voice but Jon had the stage presence and the business sensibility.
Richie left because he was UNHAPPY of being in the band plain and simple, it's not like he retired after leaving the band, he's been active non stop, has released 3 solo albums on top of my head. My assumption is he didn't have much input musically in the later years, kind of sick being treated as a side kick. Sad truth is this band evolves around Jon, since Richie's departure the band has been doing massive business whether record sales and live shows still playing stadiums while Richie can't even sell out a theatre sized venue. I also think the ship has sailed as far as Richie rejoining Bon Jovi.
Jeremy Cubs ticket sales haven’t been quite as good without Richie, and Jon’s voice only continues to get worse. My guess is so many fans didn’t know about his voice until they see him live and come next tour the sales will get worse. Richie doesn’t have the name to sell out the giant arenas but he still puts on a much better show than Bon Jovi nowadays. I know Richie was what made me love Bon Jovi from his backup vocals, guitar and stage presence when he played a major part in the band, personally I’ll never go to another Bon Jovi concert without him. And some will say that’s just the die hards but a fair amount of my friends I’d go to the concerts with won’t go anymore either and they’re not diehards

Well, that was interesting - a bit different from seeing them do a show. I think Jon got a bit irritated with the TV guys a few times! I'm not sure why he wasn't happy with the first version of Wanted - it sounded fine to me. Jon and Richie's harmonies here were exceptional! Thanks for sharing 😊

You see ,Jon was just human.as a singer myself you can really see him not happy with his singing, I get a great feeling that hes a perfectionist and he gets down when things are not right.
Also there's slight signs of vocal problems already if you look closely and I think Jon knew that at the time . Richie was awesome as usual a powerhouse of a vocalist .

In fact I disagree. For me Jon is the one that made the band number one in the world. He now has voice problems but that is not his fault. I personally am now not in favor of Richie coming back. Anyway why does Richie want to come back? He can go off and develop his own career.
