Great. Good to hear how you are getting on, and so pleased you have made such progress. Best wishes for Christmas, and getting your home finished in the new year.
I am glad to hear from you. I was worried that you gave up on making videos. I have faithfully watched your exploits on your boat and really enjoy watching. This process is very interesting. I have ritired from the wood industry after 50 years and watching you harvest, mill and build a kiln really got my attention. It is very interesting watching you construct your home using your own resources.
So funny! I literally just checked a few days ago to see if I had mistakenly turned off your channel and missed updates…Nope! So I figured you were buried in the build and Voilà - here you are! So glad to see you got to a pretty good place before winter really takes hold! Never had any doubts about Brenda’s abilities or work ethic. She’s a champ!! You two make a great team and have accomplished so much! Merry Christmas 🎄 to you both! Rest up for a New Year full of surprises, hard work, accomplishments & happiness in your new home! So great to see you both doing so well. And kudos on the house so far! Looks fantastic and those views!! Gorgeous!!
So great to see you back, the house is looking fantastic. Know it’s tough with your lack of internet at your place, but we missed you both. Keep on keeping on, on the boat or off the boat, this is one of my favorite UA-cam channels.......YALL rock
Saturday morning coffee and SV Adventure, its like peas and carrots. Happy to see your progress and as much as I enjoy tuning into whatever adventure you find yourself in take care of business and I will take whatever time you can share.
Outstanding! You and Brenda put out one of my favorite vlogs and, although I’m a sailor and started watching around when you were giving out used eyeglasses, I’m immensely interested in the you home building project and thrilled to hear you will be off-grid!
Looks great Jeff!! I’m super impressed with everything you guys have done and all that you’ve been able to accomplish!! And Brenda… you are an absolute LEGEND!!! I think you both deserve a nice long break in Mexico relaxing on your boat, eating fresh fish and making tacos 🌮 🌮🌮!
I was afraid to inquire if you were alive or if COVID, or maybe a mountain lion had gotcha' out of the fear that you might reply one or both, did! Good to know you're both still around - It's a Christmas Miracle! Also good to see that unlike Trent & Allie, you put the roof on in the proper orientation. Your sailing experience, obviously, helped: You know which way the wind blows and the snow falls. I am not a sailor, a metal worker, or a carpenter. I do have a converted Sprinter, but yours came after mine. I watch your posts for the same reason I watch Bums on a Boat, Humble Road, Trent & Allie, Kara & Nate, Good Simple Living and Wild Wonderful Off Grid: good entertainment and, I learn stuff. Welcome back.
Nice to see you making progress… not sure where in north Idaho you are but don’t be afraid to reach out, sounds like we might be pretty close .. I may be able to help y’all out
I stumbled on your videos, researching mills, and glad I did. I truly enjoyed your content and could feel your passion when you talked about milling your own lumber. Nice work. Keep the videos coming. Thanks for sharing
Please can you say a few words about the inspection process on your own lumber ie here in canada it must be inspected and the inspectors stamp on all 6 sides, planed and dried to xx% moisture, the building plans must be noted to contain site cut lumber. Did you have such challenges ? Thank you.
It’s great to know you’re all set for winter. Winter in the Inland Northwest can be a real doozy, as I’m sure you know. I’ll bet a trip to see the SV Adventurer will be a welcome diversion by the beginning of February. Viva Mexico, all the best.
So glad to see the outstanding progress, keep it up and hope to see more updates. We made it down the coast, through the canal and back up to the east coast where we decided to sell Pairadice. It was a fantastic trip, but, now we are going to develop our property and build a house also here in So. Nevada. We look forward to seeing your progress as well as maybe some more cruising. Cheers, John & Tracey, MVPairadice(sold)
Wow!! Really great progress! We have been missing your posts so much that We started to watch them ALL again, already to the Sea of Cortez parts, La Paz to Loreto and surrounds. (been an avid follower since the beginning! Your channel is the best look at cruisers life style ....Extremely Well Dine o that!!) My wife and I are also headed to the Cruisers life, we took time off to build our own 'Forever' house (yes, like you, we built ours too. So we understand the challenges you have experienced) and now are ready to get back to the water life of adventure!!. Funny thing is after following your adventurers for YEARS you have actually bought your 'Forever' property within a couple miles of ours!!! 👍👍(RING, RING!!) ....Great Job on the house!!... Well done to you both!! ...Hope to bump onto you both in SP or even Home Depot . Brent and Lucy (s/v Star Path) (m/v West of the Moon).
Great to see you, again! The house looks very nice. Jeff, have you found the best taco in Idaho?? Merry Christmas and our hopes for you both to have a Happy New Year.
im binging on your videos!!! and I haven't even started on your sailing videos!! I don't know how come I never ran into your sailing videos!! I'm a big time vicarious sailor... I follow Sailing Zatara, Gone with the Wynns, Sailing La Vagabonde, etc... like I said, vicarious sailor!! never done it, scared to... but I sure would one day love to try it! even if it's just for a weekend, lol... living vicariously through your project right now too... but being on land, I'm more likely to do it! haha! great stuff your videos are! thank you
Building a house tests Marriages. The covid didn't get you. So all is well. The house looks wonderful. The roof will be able to withstand any snow load.
Seems like we have been going through the same process minus a boat lol , I see that you have been going through the same processes which is super satisfying and if you are willing to put in the effort and time ,it is super satisfying (congrats) ,check out A&D Adventures on Timber Mountain
All that great lumber and you put chip board on it. That stuff is terrible. Use a good grade of plywood. I priced OSB and plywood when I built my house and cost savings was only $1000. Not worth it. OSB swells up, molds, and separates. I just hate to see that stuff being used for anything.
Smh. Wired for a.c. but off grid using d.c. Shouldn't you wire for d.c? Like a boat. My state codes changed to allow d.c. wired houses. With smoke detectors from boats or r.v.'s. Led lights work good and use very little electric. The inverter uses more electric for leds than the lights do. Inverters waste a lot of energy. I guess the question would be is what a.c. devices you plan on using. I only say something because many people realize mistake to late. Living off grid with d.c. electric is just like living on a boat. The well pump uses lots of energy. A cistern insulated and berm above the house helps. To gravity feed water. So you can pump water when you have extra electric to do so. A.C. uses solid copper wires and d.c. uses stranded. Hope this helps.
Exciting... thanks for the update (more videos please)
Thank you for getting back to us. I was really wondering what was happening. I enjoy you videos very much.
Great to see you. Missed your videos.

Great to hear a update.
Need that Starlink internet. Just don't leave it on, it uses alot of power.
It would be nice to have right now, but eventually, Starlink will have a mobile unit that they use at their house and on their sailboat.

So glad to see you guys back. Looks a lot colder than the Sea of Cortez, but you have a home! Go Brenda!
Great to see you again after a too long time. My question is are you building your house from a plan or are you...? Happy Xmas to you both!!!
Great to see you, again! The house looks very nice.

Well, HowDEE! So nice to see you again. You've made so much progress. Loved the update. Happy holidays.
Good to see you back! Great video, well done guys!
At last! 😉
Great to see you guys back on the utube!
You guys Rock!! ROAR!!!!!!!
Great to see what you guys have done, have good Christmas and new year
Building a house tests Marriages. The covid didn't get you. So all is well. The house looks wonderful. The roof will be able to withstand any snow load.
It's SOOO good to see you're alive and well.....hopefully, you've gotten to eat some tacos since the last vid. ;-)
You should invest in some wall jacks if you do much more of this. It’s a shame you had to use chip board instead of plywood.
You must know what would make all this go faster...a few strategic and scientifically placed racing stripes. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Ohhhh by the way i do have a brenda also(anne) and without the woman folk we are nothing !😉
Question, any guess on how many logs you had to cut to get the lumber for the main floor? Thanks
