Regarding the difference in the charts for food prices, if you change the FRED chart to "Percentage change from a year ago" it shows a negative slope like the BLS chart.

Container shipping rate is moving up as well. That may be a tailwind for inflation
Ive been looking at MATX recently. pretty much 4x their book value last few years. looks pretty good

Yo the first food inflation chart is the nominal values, so 328 vs. 321 is about a 2.1% change. The second chart is YoY inflation so it has been declining. The two charts are consistent, mostly.

This certainly sounds good too, but I think it's still worth considering more reliable options like copy trading platforms such as Eledator, for example.
About coffee. They're not removing coffee from the CPI, just cans of ground coffee in that size range. You'll still find 717311: "Coffee, 100%, ground roast, all sizes, per lb. (453.6 gm)" on there - it was a redundant category. And both roasted and instant coffees are used in the calculation. A lot of folks are reproducing this and is is false and misleading.

Well, I failed the food prices quiz. Fortunately, the teacher always gives the answers when they grade the paper. The oil prices quiz, I’m on track.. started paying attention recently when Reuters released an article saying “US has sufficient oil reserves…” That seemed, to me, to be an obvious indicator that they were trying to run interference in case the admin wants to use the SPR to temporarily lower prices - while inventory is still around half of its highs and danger of war has increased. It’s definitely NOT suspect.

They made sure they added more strikes on amc. Might get a dip if ppl start closing out those 8 options. But as of speaking they added strikes up to 12

The food prices are still going up because they are always rising but just at a lower rate of change than before. There is still inflation but on average it is not 7-9% it is 3-4%. So it is rising just at a slower rate.

What's happening with meme stocks is a sign of excess liquidity in the system, IMO.
GME and AMC are a distraction to me. Too many games going on. I am focused on financials, industrials and materials. Those are the ones that will keep going up over the summer

Corruption at the highest levels, plain & simple & out there for all to see. In real terms, coffee is still cheaper than in the 1970's.
