I remember seeing a video a couple of years back, seeing 32 in bits and pieces, with just the cab and chassis and engine on the rails, and remember thinking to myself, they'll never get her back in a million years, well I am happy to say I eat my words. It's a great restoration, and it looks just as it should. It's a pity they can't get the Trentham section done, as it would be a great run for them. DSCR should be very proud of the work done to bring another piece of Victoria's rail heritage back to life.
Like a Phoenix risen from the ashes!!!! The original and one of the oldest RM's is here to kick rail but and establish itself once again after being so dormant and long gone for so long!!! Old Pops RM takes no one's jive anymore! Wonderful stuff!!
Reminds me of the rail motor I used to go to work on from Edmonton to Cairns in 1974. a credit to all of you it looks as if it just came out of the factory.may she run for many more years to come. (UK)
I travelled on one of these between Lilydale and Healesville around 1974 or so when they were in service with the then Victorian Railways. The line has long since been closed and it wasn't in good nick even then - the rail motor bucked all over the place. It was quite the ride.
Love the sound of that Gardner engine.
That’s awesome!

Cute as a button, gorgeous as hell.
Congrats to everyone at DSCR for a perfect job of preserving such a beautiful motor. 👍

Thanks. The restoration was a complete re-build right down to the frame, so 32RM is pretty much like new at the moment
