Sea Scouts

SAN FRANCISCO -- Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station San Francisco teach Sea Scouts proper techniques for firefighting, cold water survival, shooting off flares, damage control and dewatering at the 15th annual Safety at Sea training held at Coast Guard Sector San Francisco on Yerba Buena Island Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. Carl Shellhorn, skipper of the Sea Scout ship Chaser, describes the training that Sea Scouts from Southern California, Utah, and the Bay Area attended. One of the best youth programs out there. God bless all of the Adult Leaders out there that keep making it happen. Saw a hand full of them that are still at it 20 plus years after I was the Bos'n of the SSS Chaser, including Carl Shellhorn who narrated this video. A heart felt thanks to them all.

wow dude so it was just storming out in sea too thats hella crazy well atleast you didnt have direct damage to your ship like i said 14 ft of rub rail dude thats alot of steel to cut off and replace but ya 3 propane tanks god dam thats well spent cash down the drain are you guyys coming to any of the regattas this year? cuz that would be awsome

dude YBI was scary this year for the northland and the chaser im on the northland and we hit a big ass storm and ya we had to leave immidiately LOL

I'm on the point weber in Stockton and we just met up with the northland last weekend to cruise to yybi due to rudder problems on the Weber
