True, however Cartman definitely ended it in a way more gruesome way than necessary, like he could've just made Scott eat Pig Anus Chili or something and still made his point without needing to feed a ground up person to another person (though I guess Cartman technically screwed himself nearly as much as he did Tenorman since he later found out Scott's Dad was his, meaning he ground up and cooked his own father and fed him to his stepbrother 🤮😂🤮)
Facts. Scott learned a valuable lesson you can’t control how someone will respond after do something to them first. Eric did have a gruesome response but Scott should have just left Eric alone

The correct phrase in English is "you can't eat your cake and have it too" which makes sense because the cake is now gone, but somehow it got lost in translation going across the pond and ended up with "you can't have your cake and eat it too" which makes no sense. It's just like Americans who say "I could care less" or "Take it with a grain of salt" which are malapropisms of a pinch of salt and a grain of truth. Great video

Similarly, "The customer is always right" is a bastardization as well. It's been misused and misunderstood to have customers get away with BS.
The original quote, "The customer is always right in terms of taste" makes it much clearer. If a customer wants to make a bad purchase, that's their choice.
Not really related, I just want to share a cultural fact that fascinates me.
In russian we have a similar expression to the cake one: "you can't eat your fish and sit on a dick too" ("и рыбку съесть и на хуй сесть"), which is hilarious imo.
First of all, it makes no sense in its absurdity, it just rhythms well. Secondly, sitting on a dick is assumed to be a pleasant and even desirable activity, which is unprecedented in homophobic russian culture.
And this year it is exactly 200 years since the phrase was first documented

The phrase is kind of backward. You can't eat cake and still have it in your possession afterward. It's either in front of you or inside you. It's like they episode of Billy and Mandy where Billy was upset because every time he ate his piece of bread, there was less bread in his hand, and eventually, it would be gone.

To have your cake and eat it too started as a saying to refer to the line "she cannot eat her cake and have her cake.” polite conversation Johnathan swift 1783. It's a second hand idiom referencing another and since that one faded to history the context is lost. Similar idiom to be butchered are blood is thicker than water. Full idiom is the blood of the covenant/battle(both are really common and contemporary to each other) is thicker than the water of the womb. curiosity killed the cat is actually curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back. And Jack of all trades master of none ends with is better than a master of one. Idioms are often co-opted by institutions to promote conformity. Clipping bits off. Similar to how pull yourself up by your boot straps was an insult at one point. Pointing out the impossibility of something.

I said this the last time it came up but the reason why Kyle is laughing so hard is because Cartman for many episodes has been making fun of Kyle telling him he has aids, wishing he had aids, etc etc. And while he didn't do it in this episode, Cartman constantly made fun of people with aids.

I think Cartman became a feminist because of a scrapped Hillary Clinton plot line. The creators of South Park believed there was no chance Trump would win the 2016 election. That really screwed up the planned plot they had for the season. But that’s just me guessing. 🤷🏻

I love explaining this. So once you've eaten your cake, you no longer have the nice decorative uncut cake looking pretty there on the table. Okay so just putting this out there, in the episode "fishsticks" In the scene where Jimmy and Eric are walking down the hallway, and Eric gaslights Jimmy into thinking the joke was his, Take a look at the bulletin board behind Eric. IIRC this appears in a later episode where Eric and Mackey are in the hallway.

I think he breifly clowned someone for saying it the old way instead just saying it like everyone else but lowkey saying it the "old" way made the phrase make soo much more sense to me. If you eat it you cant have it, if you have it you must not have eaten it. It can't really be both, like if youre eating it you no longer "have" it to look forward to which is nice in itself. See, the phrasing was originally "Like *eating* your cake and *having* it too", and when we say "having" we mean like, owning or keeping. It basically means, you can't eat the cake and then still have it to keep afterwards. Either you're in possession of cake, or you eat it and lose the privilege of having it for later. Basically, you can't have it both ways!

It means you are your cake already but you want another piece. So that have cake, and you also already ate cake. You have to pick one.
Small note: the show makes it a point during a special that Cartman IS actually redeemable. He actually has it in him to improve as a person. The universe simply forces balance to be established if that happens, ruining the lives of everyone else. The redemption and happiness of Cartman comes to the cost.of every other character 😅

They remove tonsils still. As a pathology resident, the past three years I've grossed (aka dissected and chosen which sections should be turned into slides) plenty of tonsils in both the adult and pediatric population.
