I was at this show years ago with The Furs and Evan Dando at The Gothic. He had more than technical difficulties. Hope he found his way back to sobriety since then. Nice guy. He was in the parking lot afterwards eating pizza and talking to a bunch of us.
I was Queer before I heard this song, and I was a strong Lemonheads fan, before I heard this song, I remember thing when I bought the single, it's cool, I bought it because I support the band, NOT because I'm queer. Saw Evan live (again) this year and he ended the show on this, I also came out this year. Fucking great year for me!
He's right that was rough.The problem with someone like Evan being a celebrity and rock star is nobody is going to be honest with him and say 'hey man get off the fucking shit coz your not fooling anybody and you're wasting your fucking talent man '! ive been there myself and if nobody is telling you you look like shit or singing is way off , you think you are fooling the world . I've loved his songs since the 80s and if i was his friend i would definitely tell him. I lost my brother to drugs and I've bounced back from a very long lost wknd. I hope he survives... Peace my friend.
This was much better than most of the songs he sang inside... Aside from the technical issues, I would say Evan Dando is back to battling his drug demons. Such incredible talent - was a bummer.
I knew it was kinda going south when "Car Button Cloth" came out and they were booked on the "Jenny Jones" daytime talk show. I feel 😢 for Evan. Wrote so many melodies and yet his behavior is so dissonant.
Up to now he has shown to be real tough and to manage it somehow. Me myself I would not be able to survive that program, but people are different. Wish him only the best.
just realized he's play the replacements' "Unsatisfied!!!!" at the beginning. I also love how he plays Big Gay heart without even being asked.
