Very interesting interview that offers a perspective that is rather fresh to me. I am of course here because I had doubts about adopting Zoho products for our business and I am reassured by what Mr. Sridhar had to say.
I used Zoho CRM for 5 years and they keep improving.... compared to the $150 you pay for Salesforce Enterprise, it is much better value.

Such a great, smart, wise and, at the same time, humble person! And the interviewer seems to not be able to swallow how someone may not want vc money and the whole typical funded company path... the interviewer seems somewhat inexperienced in the whole startup / vc / bootstrapping area, and I also do not appreciate how he kinda belittles and seems to treat the guy “from higher above” while he is nowhere near the level of achievement of the guy..
No, the interviewer is neither arrogant nor dumb. He's just playing the devil's advocate in order to make the interview more interesting and informative. Its an interview tactic where the playful friction between the interviewer and the interviewed makes it more engaging

Best part of TN ppl....u may have Double degrees, Graduates from elite university, Phd. Fancy English, French, German etc but u don't need all these.. U need to be honest, goal oriented, fire in the belly, humble, education can be even just a plain degree or even less & u are selected.

Investor forced him to exit or liquidity in 7 years.
It means, the VC will exit in 7 years and will liquidate his holdings. Sridhar says if he’s in for a long haul, why does the VC should exit. Beautiful point!
VCs offer an investment at an attractive valuation in exchange of equity in the company. They mentor founders and work with them in framing the further outlook and trajectory to grow the company and exit the company by selling their stake to some other investor who is willing to buy the stake at that future valuation or by means of an IPO.
If the Promoter cannot find a Buyer for the stake held by the VC, and the deal requires it. Thee VC can force he Promoter to sell his stake also. It is called the 'Drag Along' clause

If Zoho has 500 million in revenue why doesn't it spend about 103.34 rupees on publishing some clear, understandable documentation?
Nothing in the world will frustrate a human being more than attempting to create something mundane with a zoho app, and spend weeks trying to do something obvious, just to find out it's a platform limitation - which has not been published or explained anywhere - or that there is some super top secret double underwater chess procedure for performing something that is a push of a button elsewhere.
It's frigging confounding, in a way that only Indians making software for other Indians could manage to comprehend.
That said, I guess it's rather like an easter egg hunt- the hunt being half the fun.
Yeah, once you get by those things I am rather addicted to it.
