This is my favorite episode of BotW. The Pizza Bear thing is simply unreal. I've had a moment like that where the coincidence level is off the charts, and this Pizza Bear thing... the timing they chose to watch a horror movie, Rich's birthday, it's in a real picture when he was 5, he shows up in the movie they watch... I just can't get over it. I was dying.

I've been watching botw on a loop every night for 4 years... like I just keep cycling the playlist before bed. Every night. I think I've seen every episode 6-7 times. I never get tired of it. Honestly the perfect series. And definitely the best show on UA-cam.

I love this episode. Trick or Treat is one of my favourite movies and the sheer coincidence that you guys gave Rich the B-day shirt and actually see the Showbiz Pizza Bear in the movie is a priceless moment. Talk about a birthday surprise. ;) Oh, and the "giant salamander" that attacks the girl in Trick or Treat was actually an physical embodiment of one of Sammi Curr's tattoos, so therefore him in another form. He has the tattoo of its head with the long tongue on the left side of his chest. The movie is so dark that a lot of details are hard to see. Keep up the great work! ^_^
I love the attention to detail in the sound, even this far back. With the nasty gash joke 16:36 when Jay and Rich start asking about the joke they missed, the echo cancellation on their mics is turned off, so it feels more like an 'outtake', because something like that typically seems to get cut in editing.

I have watched Trick or Treat and I can confirm that the ShowBiz Pizza Bear is not and has never been in it. Unrelated note, but does Rich seem... different to anyone? In the videos since this one was put up, there's just been this feeling of unease that comes over me whenever I see him. I love the work they put into their sets when they aren't around the table in episodes. The fact that they set up the lighting to look fireside, they have a pile of firewood, and there's just a couple of candles in glass holders tucked in the wood all comes together for an image that seems fine until you start looking around.

I'm sure Mike, being a filmaker himself, knows this is the way most writers and directors hone their craft. As far as bare bone stories, there are only 7 or 8 different ones. Everything else is just a variation or extension of those 7. That's why, when we get more experience, we start to see the same things repeated, over and over again. The successful ones, are the filmakers that can take those structures, hit the puree button and create something that is different, while still being familiar. That's why you hear people say, "Tarrantino is a a theif because he's copying, (insert film here)." LoL They are correct, to a certain extent but he's taking the ingredients and making something that is new and interesting, as a whole. Alfred Hitchcock said, "You need to learn the rules, before you can brake them." That's why I would always choose, gaining experience, by making and watching movies, Over 8 years in film school, any day! I think people like Len, are excelling in this way of making films. I have watched Trick or Treat and I can confirm that the ShowBiz Pizza Bear is not and has never been in it. Unrelated note, but does Rich seem... different to anyone? In the videos since this one was put up, there's just been this feeling of unease that comes over me whenever I see him. It's like he's there, and I can see that it's him, but *something* is just ever so slightly off. I've got an awful headache coming on right now so I'm gonna go lie down for the night. I'll try to add some examples of what I'm talking about when I wake up.

I love the work they put into their sets when they aren't around the table in episodes. The fact that they set up the lighting to look fireside, they have a pile of firewood, and there's just a couple of candles in glass holders tucked in the wood all comes together for an image that seems fine until you start looking around.

I always liked what Mike says here about Len.

I'm sure Mike, being a filmaker himself, knows this is the way most writers and directors hone their craft.
As far as bare bone stories, there are only 7 or 8 different ones.
Everything else is just a variation or extension of those 7. That's why, when we get more experience, we start to see the same things repeated, over and over again.
The successful ones, are the filmakers that can take those structures, hit the puree button and create something that is different, while still being familiar.
That's why you hear people say, "Tarrantino is a a theif because he's copying, (insert film here)." LoL
They are correct, to a certain extent but he's taking the ingredients and making something that is new and interesting, as a whole.
Alfred Hitchcock said, "You need to learn the rules, before you can brake them."
That's why I would always choose, gaining experience, by making and watching movies, Over 8 years in film school, any day!
I think people like Len, are excelling in this way of making films.
Just Watch them and make them!
