    Are you planning on casting on some Lace? What is your top tip for knitting lace?

    Looks like a great channel. I’m knitting my first lace straight shawl. Thanks for the Stiches marker tip. I forgot about these. Long way from blocking so I’ll be back for that.

    I so agree with all your tips, Chantelle :) I usually don't use stitch markers, and I often regret it! Also, on the needles - I've knit lace on lots of circular needles with dodgy joins and while I've never had it tear the yarn at all it's the most frustrating thing ever to have to be constantly stopping and unhooking your yarn where it's caught on the needles. Good needles are my most important thing with lace because of that and what you said about the tips, even more important than good yarn.

    Run. Run as fast as you can! JK! I look forward to the day when I feel I can start and complete something so beautiful. It took about a year for each new art style I learned to say ok I got this, and moved on to that first big project. For me if I start too big before my confidence sets in, I fail and it puts me off whatever I was learning This time next year, watch out! I'm going to finish my second sock tomorrow, and start another pair for my husband. Someone told me if I can master socks, I can make anything, is this a common belief among experienced knitters? I'm adding this to my instructor playlists. Keep them coming, I only got 10 more months to learn this stuff ! Seriously though thank you for being a big part of my trying knitting one last time. And this time it worked!

      There are a lot of skills involved in making socks, I actually find them trickier than lace, but everyone has their comfortable knitting place. I'm so excited to be part of your knitting journey!

    blocking sounds interesting, I guess its better than ironing the wool knits to stretch them out. They don't stretch too well if your using the iron I feel, especially after 3 weeks of knitting a shawl. should try blocking maybe, now I know why my shawls are always bunching up. thanks

    Hi! Is it possible to use the interchangeable needle lifeline with stitch markers? I just tried it thinking I was being so smart, but then my lifeline was going through all of my stitch markers so I just had to pull it out... should I work lifeline rows without stitch markers? What do you recommend?

    • @Fiberific
      @Fiberific  4 роки тому

      The short answer is no. Unfortunately if you want to use the lifeline holes in your cable you will need to pull it out each time to go around the outside of your stitchmarkers, I feel your pain. I personally just thread up a needle and run it under the stitches. It's an extra step. But necessary if I'm using stitch markers. Which I usually am.

    Can anyone help me learn how to manage adding stitches to a lace motif? I'm doing a batsleeve lace pullover and my "augmentations" are not working. One step forward 2 steps back! Is there a secret I'm missing?

    I love your video and how detailed you are but I have to point out that music early in the video... It overtakes your voice.. You may consider lowering the volume of the music or begin speaking when the music is done. Just a suggestion. Thank you for the tips!

      I knit lace shawls while watching tons of stuff, but always end up with so many mistakes. so frustrating, I don't even bother fixing the errors anymore.
