Definitely appreciate the thorough going through of the character creation. Any chance you would be willing to do a thorough breakdown of a combat example with a few edge cases?
Great video! I would love to see a how to play video that covers a short combat, skill checks, and general overview on the Tri-Stat system. The text on the screen helped a lot. Thanks!
I'm making a character and I'm a bit confused about how super strength and combat techniques like Brutal and Rush Attack are meant to interact with each other. My understanding is that unarmed is ordinarily weapon level 0, so it gets no damage multiplier, you just deal your ACV and you get 10x your level in super strength as a flat damage bonus. But taking Brutal makes your unarmed attacks Weapon level 1, so you do get to use the damage multiplier, however Super Strength states "Each Superstrength Level adds +2 to a character’s Damage Multiplier when using normal melee and thrown Weapons, as well as when using Weapon attacks with the Muscle Enhancement (page 134). If such a Weapon Attribute is defined as a form of unarmed combat as well, the +10 damage bonus described above does not also apply; the character only receives the +2 Damage Multiplier bonus." So it seems like you either get the flat damage bonus OR the bonus to damage multiplier, not both. Which means taking Brutal with 9 levels of superstrength would take me from a whopping +90 bonus damage, to a Damage Multiplier of 23(?) which I'd multiply by the weapon level (1), and add to the ACV, (17 in this case) leaving me with a comparatively piddly 40 damage total. Why would I ever want to do that? I feel like I must be totally misunderstanding, can someone please clarify? Thanks!
Actually I just thought about this, would the base damage be damage multiplier times weapon level (1) plus ACV, and then the +90 damage from super strength added onto it? And if so, would you add the +2s from super strength to the damage multiplier, or would you keep it the base 5 since it's still unarmed and not a weapon? In either case it seems like Rush Attack would only ever add one point of damage so it doesn't really seem worth doing
If you prefer to use the Unamred Combat Superstrength bonus of +10/Level instead of the +2 Damage Multiplier for a Brutal attack, no problem - especially if it makes more sense for your character. The +2 DM/Level works best with high-Level Weapon attacks. The 23x1+ACV calculation is otherwise correct. Rush Attack works with any Weapon attack, not just unarmed (such as a sword attack). The +1 Damage Multiplier will change a 0 to a 1 or a 5 to a 6, and thus the damage benefit it provides depends on the Weapon Level.
I am Lp, the writer and creator of the comic book Nyobi now in comic book shops, I think it would be cool to make Nyobi as a character as I am a gamer, but if you ever want to do something official with us I would be open to ideas :)

Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll look at what we can do in the future.
Would be nice to see a played session of this!

We’re about to start our first absolute power campaign tomorrow. Perfect timing for our session 0! Thank you!
Wonderful! Best wishes for a spectacular campaign!

@Dyskami ah I gotcha, thanks for clearing that up!
Just watched the video. Our group is currently planning on converting our P&p characters over to AP and continue the campaign in AP.
Sounds awesome! Hope the conversion goes smoothly. 👍
