The hardest thing I had to deal with when I quit opiates is that I thought my confidence, charisma, and personality would be gone. When you’re on opioids you have no fear, no anxiety, and since you’re not drunk you can actually think pretty clearly. And the world is beautiful everywhere you look. Everyday things are fun and inspiring. It really motivated me to do things I wouldn’t normally have the courage to do. Then when it goes away you feel horrible. But I found out after you get through withdraws your old self comes back. The only thing is, you’ll never be as loose naturally as when you were high. This is why I understand a lot of artists feel they need to drink or do drugs to maintain their career. After all, if being an addict got you where you are, wouldn’t quitting make you lose everything? The only problem is when you can’t get the drug one day. And no matter how much money you have, you can’t find any. That’s when you’re super fucked
