    How can this video promotes the blackfoot better than aquaglide themselves? 🤣 Aquaglide really need to either sponsor you now or employ you for their promo videos! Love the energy!

      I am having problems to decide if I should buy the 160 or 130. I tend to like it a bit bigger but not sure if it’s too heavy and bulky for one person mostly I am going out alone fishing.

      @@weisswurstfruhstuck8523 you can paddle as 1 person easily. I take my 20 year old son and he doesn't do a whole lot of work ha ha. I sit in the back and can handle it for both of us. So far I love it...taking it on another big trip in 2 weeks. The bag ripped on me the very first time I loaded it in my car (it is pretty heavy) and I contacted their support... they said they would replace it so I am going to fill out the report this weekend and see what happens. It was never used. Bag could use a little beefier build in my mind.

    Can you please tell me if the floor in this kayak is integrated or must be removed during drying and cleaning? I didn't notice this information in the video. Thank you.

      @the.great.adventurers  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching and posting! You can leave the floor in when drying it or take it out. We choose to take it out, hang it over a ladder to dry, and then dry the bottom of the boat with a large sponge.

    So could you compare it to the Chelan? Pros and cons? I'm not going to be fishing, just recreating.

    • @the.great.adventurers
      @the.great.adventurers  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and posting! We also have 2 Chinooks, which we love, but wanted something bigger that both my husband and I could ride in comfortably. We also are not fishermen and just wanted it for recreation.
      Pros: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kayak and the size because you really can put a whole lot in it. We have even had our daughter in the middle section, and she is an adult!
      It is super easy to paddle and navigate. It doesn't feel like a huge kayak. We love the extra space to be able to put our C-Tug, kayak carrier, in the back of the boat without having to take it apart. The boat has never tipped over on us, and we had to pull our kids out of the water in the lake when their's did tip over. They had to hang on to the side of our boat and pull themselves in to ours. We hadn't watched any videos at that point of how to get yourself back into your kayak if it tips over.
      It is super easy to set up, but you will probably want an cordless air pump to inflate it faster. Love that we don't have to try to fit it on top of our SUV or have a trailer to haul it. We noticed a person with a hard composite kayak who had gotten to the lake about the same time as us, and we had our kayak set up and ready to go down to the lake before the other guy by about 10 minutes!
      Cons: Because it is so big, it doesn't turn on a dime when you need to turn around. However, it is not difficult to turn it around but realize it will take some maneuvering.
      There aren't any oars/paddles with this kayak and you have to purchase your own. There also aren't any paddle holders that you could put your paddle through if you were using a paddle instead of a double oar. Because we use oars with two ends, you won't want to put a cup holder like a Scotty mount near where you paddle because you can knock them off into the water. We had to refigure where we put ours because we lost a couple of them.
      Another thing, this is one heavy unit! Putting it on your back to hike with it is a nice thought, but in reality not many people could do it for more than a 1/2 mile. That being said, you also want to invest in a kayak carrier to get the boat down to the launching area.
      I hope all of that helped you! We LOVE our Blackfoot and can't say enough about it!

    Love the video and enthusiasm for the product. We are in the UK so have limited information. Could you possibly give us the dimensions of the kayak ( Blackfoot 160 ) when packed in it's bag ( the manufacturer can't apparently! )? Secondly can this kayak be paddled effectively solo as claimed by Aquaglide or would the length make it a bit cumbersome? Thank you. :)

    • @the.great.adventurers
      @the.great.adventurers  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much for watching! We really love our Blackfoot! I actually do most of the paddling while my husband films. He had hurt his shoulder lifting and couldn't row. I had absolutely no problem rowing, whether in the front of the boat or in the back. It doesn't take more than a few strokes to get the boat really going! The one thing that is hard is turning the boat around, doing a U-turn, but that would be hard even if two people were rowing.
      As far as the dimensions in the bag, we keep our boat out in a storage shed so it's not right here. But the boat fits in the boat, but don't necessarily expect both chairs to fit into it. We just put the boat in it and it is quite tricky to fold it up and get it into the bag. It will completely fill out the bag.

      @@the.great.adventurers Thanks so much for the reply and useful info. We have have limited space in our campervan/motorhome so the size of the bag is quite critical but then there doesn't seem to be another kayak which offers the same abilities as this one does anyway!
      Hope your husband's shoulder recovers soon!

      @the.great.adventurers  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching the video! As for the size of the boat, that depends on how much stuff you plan on taking with you. Three feet can make a big difference if you tote a lot with you or if you plan on bringing another person every now and then. Definitely recommend the C-tug or some other type of cart which ever boat you go with.
      I’ll get back with you on your other questions after I look up the size of the oars we are using. Thanks again for watching and posting!

      @@the.great.adventurers thank YOU! :) yeah sometimes I have a lot of camping gear with me tent and stuff. I am quickly overloaded on a single Kajak. This is the reason why I have a Gumotex rush 1 and 2 person version. 😂 I need both of course 🙄😂. But with this one I might just go for the 160 version and a 250 centimeter paddle as you said.

      Thanks for watching! We went online to Aquaglide's website and ordered it right through them. It actually was the best choice because apparently Oregon does not have a state tax so they don't add tax onto the cost of the boat! It's like getting a huge discount!

    I took a very long time researching and decided to buy this kayak based on marketing promises of this being above average quality product. It is not. It is misrepresented.
    You definitely need to buy a good quality electric pump. There is no way you can comfortably and easy inflate or deflate it with manual air pumps. Despite marketing claims.
    At full PSI the tubes are soft and you will need to routinely exceed PSI to achieve harder surface. It is China-made, average quality materials, not the kind you'd expect from a gear priced as top of the line. Nothing about its construction is environmentally conscious, which is not the last considerations for most people who enjoy kayaking.
    It is extremely difficult to dry. Marketing has no mention of the hassle associated with drying after use and preparation for storage. It is really difficult to clean as mud gets into the pores of the floor.
    It tracks just ok on the water, certainly nothing close to hardshell kayaks. I'd never buy it again and I'm stuck with it because the resale value is dirt.
    Please be ethical representing your product and give customers accurate marketing information.

    • @the.great.adventurers
      @the.great.adventurers  Рік тому

      Sorry you didn't enjoy your Blackfoot as much as we are enjoying it. We simply take out the floor when we are done with it and hang it across two ladders to dry and then leave the boat out on a long table to also dry. We will take a large sponge and dry out the bottom liner before leaving it so as to avoid any mildew build up. I guess it really depends how much time you want to put in to it for the up keep.
      We also haven't had any problems with it cutting through the water, and I am able to row by myself with my husband in the kayak while he films. Again it depends on what you are using the kayak for.
      Thanks for sharing your heart, but we were representing the Blackfoot from how we use it and how much we love it!
