Place the spell inside the middle of the pedestal, and the runes in the surrounding pedestals, once you have tap the middle pedestal again to get your spell back with the runes in it.
That's bizarre. I think maybe try restarting the world by deleting the current one and trying again. Since the game is in experimental mode some features don't work. Give it a try

Btw, if reinstalling it doesn’t work, will it be fixed since it’s in experimental?
@@ale-x0885 unsure. Just give it a try by deleting the world and making a new one with the game mode, see if it works.
